In order to get to ML you first have to contact Apple's online Store and order and install Snow Leopard. Once SL has arrived, follow the directions on the package for installing, after SL has installed navigate to 10.6.8 Update Combo and follow the on-screen instructions for upgrading to 10.6.8. After install the Combo Update run Software Update again and install all suggested updates. Next open the Mac App Store (available in SL 10.6.6 and later) and purchase Mountain Lion, then follow the on-screen directions.

    I am having the same issues with my iPhone 4 and iPad 2 not mounting within iTunes every since the iTunes update. I know my USB is working but this is crazy. I had a thought and redowned the updater 10.6.8 thinking it was a bad install still the same issues. Sorry I couldn't help. I am also looking for the answers.

    I'm sorry, but your statement doesn't make sense or I am totally misunderstanding you. That's is certainly a possibility.
    You sync with iTunes software on your computer, and there is no link on the website where you can go to syc. With iTunes, the application must be installed on your computer. If you have been syncing with iTunes then you know this and there must be some lack of communication between us.
    Launch the iTunes application on your computer and then connect your iPad to your computer with the cable. Your iPad should appear in the devices button in the upper right part of the iTunes window. Click on that in order to select your iPad.

    Leopard (OS X 10.5) came out in October, 2007.  iOS 7 came out in October, 2013.
    You need an absolute minimum of OS X 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard) to run iTunes 11 which can sync devices using iOS 7.

    UPDATE -- Sorry!  I don't think you have an Intel processor Mac, and therefore cannot run Snow Leopard.  You need a new computer to sync using iOS 7.

    C:\Users\<your account name>\Music\iTunes\Mobile Applications
    their extensions are .Ipa  you can try doing a search on your harddisk
    unless you formattet it when you reinstalled
    but an app can only ever be bought 1 times on an appleID so if you try to buy them again it will give you a free download of the app and not charge you
    about sync then if you connect the ipad and click info tab and set it to sync your outlook data it should sync without any problems

    I have sync issue, too, but a bit different. When connecting my iPhone 4 and hitting the sync button in iTunes 11.0.5 (5), the synch process starts, gets stuck at step 5, then eventually finishes without any error message, but content (TV series / movies) are not updated on the iPhone.
    I already tried to power cycle my MacBook (Intel 13" running Mac OS X Lion) and my iPhone 4 (iOS 6.1.3).
    Was working perfectly before upgrading iTunes. Anybody has a solution to this yet?

  • After my ipad WIFI upgraded to 5.0.1, I can no longer sync with my PC?

    Recently, the new wireless upgrade worked wonderfully.  My ipad is correctly upgraded as of 11/13/11.  For the life of me, I can't figure out why my ipad will no longer sync with Itunes.  I realize that iCloud enables me to push various backups wirelessly, but I still want to sync with my iTunes in order to add playlists and content that will not reside on the cloud.
    When I say that it will no longer sync with itunes, I mean that I cannot get either an iPad or iPod Touch to show as being connected or synced with any number of apple USB cables conntected to my PC and iTunes.  Hard resets, computer reboots...since my upgrade, I can no longer connect these devices.  Can anyone tell me why I can't sync?

    Minor update:  I have multiple PC's in my office.  This same iPad and other apple devices properly work and sync with their connection to this other computer.  Both computers are running the 64bit iTunes and both have Windows 7 64bit OS running on both machines.  I tried deactivating firewalls and even deleted the iTunes with a fresh installation with no avail.
    Something is keeping my Apple mobile devices (iPods, iPads) from being recognized within iTunes.  However, they all are properly recognized by my PC.

    I recently updated all of my class iPads (36) to the new iOS.
    Now I can no longer sync them with the ONLY computer they have ever been sync'd with.  I get a message that the iPad is "now associated" with another device (which it is NOT).  I have never used Absolute App Manager, etc, just used VPP to sync.

    Hmmm… that is strange. Are you using the latest version of iTunes on your computer? If not, update it. Did you restore any backups from iCloud on any of these? Maybe with a different account?
    I would troubleshoot this iTunes similar to how I would troubleshoot Apple Configurator… on a Mac OS X computer I would confirm that I'm logged on to the computer (not just iTunes) with the same account used when I set up the iPads… I would check file and folder permissions in my home directory to make sure I had read/write access to everything under /Users/<yourusername>… maybe even run a permissions repair using Disk Utility to make sure everything with the OS is running properly… beyond that, I don't know what else to try. I'd be tempted to back everything up, wipe the iPads clean, and start over. I knot that's not a "good" option, but if I could no longer sync I'd be tempted to start over.
    On another note, we are coming up on summer vacation for students which is a good time to reevaluate processes and make changes. I often make a list of things I want to change with my deployment and implement them during school breaks. I recommend using Apple Configurator instead of iTunes to manage your classroom set of iPads. It is designed to manage multiple iPads whereas iTunes is more designed for a single user/device.   • I can no longer sync with Google Contacts

    I have been using google for 2 years and from the beginning have synced iPhone contacts with my google account.  I just discovered that the synch stopped working.  Initially, I thought it was due to changing google password.  I tried to update iTunes sync with my current google password under the info menu.  But it won't accept the change. Every time I enter my credentials and click enter, the window reopens prompting to re-enter the credentials.  It is like an endless loop.  Why won't it accept the credentials?  I know for absolute certain that I am entering the correct credentials because I use my google account all day for work on my PC, other PC's, and my phone.
    I tried a phone reset with no luck.  I assume the problem is in iTunes because that is where the contact synch is configured.

    Are you trying to set up your Gmail account as an Exchange account? If so, you need to know that Google no longer supports that service for free Gmail accounts. See this article for how to sync your contacts:

  • After OS 8.1.3 install today on iPhone 5s.  Now, I can no longer sync with iTunes!

    I have latest versions of Yosemite and iTunes on Macbook Pro.  This morning I installed OS 8.1.3 on my iPhone 5s.  Ever since, I am unable to sync the phone with iTunes.  On each attempt, the sync gets caught in the last step, resulting in an endless cycling of the "Waiting for changes to be applied".  Endless.  No success.  VERY FRUSTRATING.  These updates imply "one step forward", but often result in three steps back (a.k.a., headaches and problems).  Rant complete.  Any insight into a fix?   Please help.  Thx.

  • Upgraded Playbook to 2.0.1.358 and can no longer sync with PC

    I upgraded to the latest software version for the PlayBook via wi-fi. I had no issues until I attempted to sync my PB with my pc to copy over pictures and videos from my PB. I do this sync about every 3 weeks or so. When I first plugged in the Playbook to my pc (Sony Vaio w/ Windows 7) I received a message about drivers being installed. When my Playbook was acknowledged by  BB Desktop Manager it incorrectly read that my PB software version was 0.0.0.0 and prompted me to upgrade. I downloaded and installed the software (again). All looked successful again, however when I attempted to access the Media Sync options I received a message that "media services are not available" and that "your blackberry device is not compatible with this features". Now, when I connect my PB to my pc via USB cable it does not even trigger DM to open. If I manually open DM then it recognizes that a PB is connected and starts a full back up. If I let the back up complete then it triggers me to do an update to the latest software version (which I already have installed but DM continually shows that my PB software version is 0.0.0.0). If I install the upgrade as instructed then I am prompted to disconnect and reboot the PB. When I do this loop starts all over again. A full back up starts and I am prompted again after that to install the latest PB software. How do I get out of this loop and back to being able to sync all my media from my PB to my pc. Also, when I have my PB connected and I look at Windows Explorer, it does not list my PB as a drive. However, if my PB is connected to my wi-fi network I can see it on the network. I copied my pictures/videos via the network (turned on sharing on the PB) as a workaround but this is not how I wanted to manage my file transfers. PLEASE HELP. I spent all day yesterday googling for answers and similar experiences by others and I don't know how to fix this. I am tempted to create an incident request with Blackberry/RIM to resolve this but thought I would try here first. Appreciate any responses.  

    I to have exprianced this problem.  I upgraded my os and now when I try to connect my Playbook to my computer, the Desktop Manager does not connect and prompts my to upgrade.  After turning off my Virus Protection, firewall, trying several times, rebooting both playbook and computer, I started to install the upgrade through Desktop Manager.  After a few minuites I decided this was probably counterproductive so I canceled the install.  Not sure but since the upgrade, my computer will not connect to the Playbook.  Ideas?
