Can Nokia 6630 Web browser be set to use MMC?

Hi all
I have a Nokia 6630 and it works very well for most purposes, but I have been experiencing problems with the web browser. I like to browse the internet and save pages to my phone's memory using the Advanced option under Bookmarks. It seems that the browser uses the phone's onboard memory of 10MB, and this has often run out. I have a 512MB RS-MMC card in the memory card slot, so I have plenty of memory to spare - I have checked the contents of the card and there is plenty left, over 300MB even with all of my data. Unfortunately, I have found no way to set the Web browser so that it uses the memory card; this would give me plenty of storage. It seems strange, as I have reset many of the phone's functions to use the card e.g. camera, video and messaging.
Is there a way to set the Web browser to use the MMC card? Is there some function or code that will make the phone do this?
Also, is there any way to set the Voice Recorder to record audio of unlimited length to the memory card, or am I stuck at 1 minute?

have you checked via nokia Suite on your PC if there are any fimrware updates available for your device? if there are any, please updaet to the latest version offered. failing that, you can try performing the hard reset on the device, but please backup all personal data as this reset wipes everything.

Nokia 5800 Web browser not reponding

Hi Guys,
I'm having this problem where the Nokia 5800 Web Browser hangs the phone. It shows the first page of any address properly, but doesn't navigate to any links from the page, not even simple google search is working.
Is anybody facing this problem, please help. I have updated my firmware to v20 also.

i add information: this only happens with the browser connected via WLAN. until today, i couldn't install the opera mini browser from mini.opera.com page. today i connected via 3g and downloaded and installed opera mini without a problem. and about this: with opera browser seems to happen the same... the program asks me twice about the connection (i choose always "internet", with mi WLAN name) and the hangs in "connecting"...
so, viewing the evidences, it seems to be some kind of problem with the WLAN....
ah, one more thing to note: the phone was connected to the battery charger this last time i tried opera.
my settings in the default nokia browser are: connection: internet
and the settings in settings->conectivity are:
settings->conectivity -> destination-> internet i have the acces point of my home (priority 1) and my provider(priority 2)
settings->conectivity -> WLAN -> settings -> show avail : yes
settings->conectivity -> WLAN -> settings -> search network : 5 min
settings->conectivity -> WLAN -> settings -> test connec: never
yes, the two browsers works fine with 3g internet (now i installed gmail, the application downloaded from his site)
bad, i need a solution for this... the WLAN was one of the things i was most interested about this phone... :'(

Can't open web browser in solaris 10

I'm on the java desktop for solaris. I click on the browser it acts like it is going to open and then nothing happens. Is there something else I need to set up.

Right click on the Web Browser launcher and check the Properties for the launcher. Make sure what ever command is set to run exists on the filesystem (I believe it's set to /usr/sfw/bin/mozilla by default). Also, you can try running whatever command is set in the launcher from a terminal window, this way you should see if there is any error reported back.

NOKIA 5800 WEB BROWSER HELP!

My web browser on my nokia 5800 does not work anymore. I go onto the web browser and the phone freezes and stops responding until the web browser can shut it self down. I am currently using the opera web browser available on the Ovi Store. I need help to get my web browser working again. Any advise?

You can discount a virus as a cause of your issues. If it wasn't for the loss of data involved, I would have suggested restoring your 5800XM to "factory settings" and re-formatting memory card, there is obviously corrupt data on your device/memory card.

Nokia N80 Web Browser: "Web already in use"?

Just got my nokia N80, connected to my WLAN perfectly, I managed to have a couple of hours browsing the internet using the Web browser found under "My Own", I wanted to see if msn Web Messenger would work, after the login the web browser crashes.
Now if i try and get back onto the Web Browser I get a message saying "Web already in use", I've restarted the phone, I've even taken the battery out and restarted but this message still appears, I've googled and searched these forums but I can't seem to find any info on this, does anybody know what the problem is, and why the browser seems to crash on certain pages?

My new E61 was working fine but today when I tried to access the Internet I got a "Web: Already in Use" notice and could not access it. I had to hard reformat of the phone (thanks to T-Mobile tech support)and reinstall all of my email and internet settings. I have read on several user forums that this problem has occurred with some regularity. Obviously I do not want to reformat the phone all the time. Are there any other solutions? One user said they brought the phone into a local Nokia store for a software flash but did not say if it worked. Since I am in US, there is no local store to bring it to. Does have any ideas on how to solve this issue? Shouldn't Nokia be saying or doing something?

Nokia 5500 Web browser - HELP PLZ!

I'm in india and using Nokia 5500 Black model since a month.
I was very happy using it untill a day back the web browser in 'My Own' section suddenly stopped working. When i click the icon, NOTHING happens, no error message and absolutely nothing.
I called up nokia customer care and they told me to reset my phone settings. i did so, and then to my surprose, not only web browser but ALL applications in 'My Own' folder stopped working with same behavior.
Cam please someone help me out as to what i can do to make my phone work as it was before.

Now when i did it, even the web icon is disappeared.
Is the web browser application available somewhere on net.

Pix 501 PDM 30 - can't get web browser access

I just got two used Pix 501 units, and cannot get the web browser working. OK to first login box with blank username and password per manual, click Yes to certificate popup, "Loading Startup Wizard" prompts for username and password - blank is NOT accpeted here.
Get java.security.AccessControlException: access denied in lower border of browser window.
How do I get past this?

Phil, this is a known issue with certain old versions of PDM.

Can open a Web browser from the worksapce?

we are using Adobe livecycle ES2.5, We are trying to add an action to our users to open a specific URL in a Web browser, is it doable?

we did this before when using pdfs but in our case we are using Flex and we do not want to call the web browser from the flex we need it from the workspace directly,
please see the attachment, when the user clicks complete we want to open the browser instead of submitting the form to the next step.

How do I secure my web browsing on public wifi using a home server?

I have a Mac Mini and an iPhone 3GS running iOS 4.3.2. The Mac Mini currently acts as a media centre, running OS X 10.6.7. It is permanently connected to the internet. I have a static IP address (though goodness knows my ISP insists it changes every 15 days lol), and an Airport Extreme Base Station (Gigabit).
I'd like to secure my web browsing when using public wifi by getting my iPhone to pass all data over a secure connection via my Mac Mini. Might someone tell me how to do that? I'd rather use software already included with OS X where possible. (PS: I know that my data becomes clear-text again once it leaves my Mac Mini).
I'm also thinking of implementing a proxy server on the Mac Mini (Privoxy) to help manage ads and cookies on my LAN. Would it be possible to set it up so that my iPhone could take advantage of that proxy and the secure connection when using public wifi? Cos that'd be great! Cut down on my bandwidth costs!

I don't know iOS I am using. How do I find out?
I have web history but only one weeks worth - can you increase how long it keeps the info before discarding?
I definitely don't have advanced settings and I'm definitely using an iPhone4
I also want this info to keep track of my internet usage to know which websites are chewing up my data allowance.

Nokia 5800 Web Browser Encoding messed up for TIS-...

The problem is when I browse to web site that using 'Thai (TIS-620)' charset,
the character appears like it is using 'Western' charset.
but when i go to setting > page and change default encoding to 'Thai (Windows)' it can work properly
for example

that page use 'TIS-620' as default charset. so if i open it, the character messed up
and then try change encoding to 'Thai (Windows)' it can display the page properly.

NOKIA 9500 WEB BROWSING

WHile I am able to get the INBOX of my Yahoo a/c, after opening the mail I am not finding the body of the msg. Everything else is there. What's the problem?
How to avoid all the jazzy graphics when downloading say mai.yahoo.com as it takes too much of time (& of course the download charges) and as thoser graphics are not necessary for emailing.

Which is what I posted ! But then was contradicted, AFAIK the browser is the same as my N97 but with pinch to zoom, and the way I go back, is to press the white arrow, then select back, then swipe to the page I want and select !!
Maybe I'm just dumb, unlike jimmy who has hands on expert knowledge of the N8 ?
