Use the trackpad to scroll, thats what it was designed for. The scroll bars automatically disappear when not being used and will appear if you scroll up or down using the trackpad.
This is a user-to-user forum and most people will post on here if they have problems. You very rarely get people posting to say there update went smooth. The fact is the vast majority of Mountain Lion users will not be experiencing any major problems with the OS, or maybe with apps which are not compatible, but thats hardly Apple's fault if developers don't update their apps.

By the way, Mattban and Sancasslano, are either of you also experiencing any of the following issues:
* Problems with Contacts either crashing or listing no names
* Problems with turning iCloud on or off for application under Settings->iCloud... On both mine I just get a pop up saying that iCloud is being turned off but Contacts then just locks up.
* General problems when trying to synch applications on the iPad or iPhone over iCloud?
I am wondering if all these issues are in someway related to and whether it is worth trying to turn off iCloud somehow, though I cannot work out how this can be done once set up. -

Do you know if is possible to change this setting?We have this problem as well. Unfortunately after years of only supporting IE and finally rewriting our site to be standards compliant we are going to have to force users back to IE because of this issue. It's not feasible for us to walk users through changing the default viewer. The default should stay Adobe (if installed) until a more robust native version is available. I understand you want to promote free and open tools but if they don't work, it's just not good enough.

Can log into FaceTime it then asks what I want to use as contact so I select email address it says verifying then asks for apple if again and just keeps repeating the process

I recently installed CS4, and I can not make a connection to my website. Message an FTP error occurred and cannot make a connection to host. The remote host cannot be found.
Open up your site definition (double-click on the site name in the File panel or choose Site > Manage Sites > Edit) and go to the Remote Info category. There, click Use Firewall (if it isn't already selected) - press Test to try the default firewall settings. If that doesn't work, click Firewall Settings. You'll see two relevant settings about 2/3 down - Firewall host and Firewall port. If Firewall port is 21, there probably is something blocking the port.
On Windows XP, you may have the Windows Firewall installed and blocking. Here's how you get to it:
To open Windows Firewall
1.
Click Start and then click Control Panel.
2.
In the control panel, click Windows Security Center.
3.
Click Windows Firewall.
Once you have that open, you'll need to set Dreamweaver as an exception to blocking:
On the Exceptions tab, click Add Program.
In the list of programs, click the name of the program (Dreamweaver) that you want to add, and then click OK. If the name of your program is not in the list of programs, click Browse to locate the Dreamweaver.exe in the Program Files folder and then click OK.

I was editing photos in my iphotos and it froze on me. So I shut down my computer and when I restarted I now can not access them. It says Your photo library is either in use by another application or has become unreadable. What can I do to fix this?
What you're describing is the Finder window for your external hard drive. When you're in iPhoto and try to edit a photo what happens?
Are you saying that the photos for your iPhoto library are located on the external HD while your library is in the Pictures folder on the boot drive? That would indicate a referenced library. You can check to see if you're running a referenced library by checking the Advanced Preference pane in iPhoto:

So based one the Advanced preference pane in iPhoto what type of library are you running. Where is the library itself located? It should look like this:
By default it should be located in your Users/Home/Pictures folder. However, it could be run on an external HD. -
Manual Shut down of computer required when computer on overnight
I usually keep my computer on all the time. Generally, I will press the return key or tap the touchpad to get the computer screen activated. However, recently I have had to manually shut down the computer to get it to come on. The computer lights are all on, but I've noticed that the hard disk drive light flickers when I'm not able to turn the screen on. When the hard disk drive light stays on and doesn't flicker, I can just tap the touchpad or hit the return key to activate the screen. I've also noticed that at times the hard disk drive light flickers on and off when I'm working on the computer. Could this possibly be an indication that my hard drive is about to fail? I haven't had to press the sleep or hibernate key to activate the screen in the morning. Is it possible that I changed something without knowing it, which might be causing this problem?
I would recommend not leaving the computer on continuously. There are several reasons not to leave it on. Unless it is doing something, it is just wasting power. Not a lot of power, but still it's a waste. It stresses the components of the computer. No reason for circuits to be up and running continuously. Probably will reduce the computer's lifetime. One benefit of shutting down the computer is that it clears the memory. Even after you close a program, not all of the files get released, so you have unused and unneeded files cluttering up your RAM space and accomplishing nothing. Cluttered RAM means decreased performance. Because the computer is on continuously, so is the fan. The fan is continuously sucking in air to cool the CPU and GPU. Along with that air is the dust and dirt that's in the room. Bottomline, your computer's circuit board gets dustier and dirtier than if the computer had been turned off when not in use. This will lead to over heating and the computer shutting down on it's own.
The hard drive LED flickering is pretty normal as it reads and writes files. Much of it is automatic and automated. I have my Windows Updates set for automatic, so they happen in the background. Not sure why the screen is not turning on when you tap the Return key. Maybe you have Sleep or Hibernation enabled. Check your Power Options in the Control Panel. -

I am hoping to transfer from Outlook Express to TB. On installing TB and importing from OE the 2 email address I have do not show as seperate accounts. The 2 are brian@IP address and shopping@IPaddress.
I use the 2 address for completely seperate reasons and would therefore like each account to have their own Inbox and the incoming emails to be downloaded in each inbox, as they currently are in OE.
How can I acheive this in TB?Is the folder pane collapsed? View(or AppMenu/Options)/Layout/Folder Pane. Otherwise, deleting foldertree.json might fix it:

Itunes is not up to date with these series, Revenge series 3 and The Americans 2 & 3, can anyone help were I can stream this to my Mac or ITV please
It is up to the content owner as to when, and if, specific content is available on itunes (or any outlet for that matter). Very often a network or production compnat willhave exclusive deals with streaming outlets for a period of time before a seaon of a series is available elsewhere.
I can't speak to most of the shows you reference, but in the case of The Americans, there has only been one season so far. Season two isn't schedule for broadcast until February of next year. -
BB stripping recipient name/address when they are more than one in TO or CC
Have a very perplexing problem. My client cannot see more than one
recipient name and/or address at the TO and CC lines on his
blackberry, but he sees them ALL in Outlook.

On some emails, he may have been the third name in the SEND TO list,
and when he sees them on his Blackberry, it only shows the first
persons name so if it wasn't him, he doesn't even see his name listed?
There is not filter on his account and he is the only one with this
problem. He has a Blackberry Curve.
Rogers is no help....they just keep saying it's Exchange.
Any ideas?what happens when that person does a "reply to all" from his/her blackberry device ? who are the different recipients ?
can that person send a message to several To: from his/her device ?
did you do the soft reboot or the hard reboot ?
