Please clarify what exactly you're trying to do and what error messages you get. In addition, clarify what OS version is installed on the server and whether the server and your workstation are joined to the same AD domain.

You can't access a Time Machine backup that way. Connect the drive directly, hold down the option key, and select Browse Other Backup Disks from the Time Machine menu.

Oracle BI Publisher - can not access Shared Folder , using Oracle BI Server

Hi there,
We have an installed OBIEE and BIP (BI Publisher) system which is the security setting of BIP using "Oracle BI Server".
Our OBIEE security is using the combination of LDAP (authentication) and Relational Table (for grouping user privillege)
The integration connection between OBIEE and BIP is successfull, and I can connect using Administrator to the BIP
But when I assign a general user using group : XMLP_Admin (define in rpd file and relational table), the user can log in to BIP, but can NOT access the Shared Folder.
the error desc : "Error 500: SRVE0199E: OutputStream already obtained"
Anyone can help ?

My iPad mini, can only access camera roll photos. When posting on facebook. I can not access shared photos from my apple devices.

problem with iPad mini and iPhone 5c and Facebook app. I can only access camera roll, when posting photos, I can not see shared photos. Which I could before the previous 3 updates. I did speak to Apple support but they said Facebook was behind. i think over 6 months later I still have the same problem!

Thank you. Do you have any idea about the 5c, which is only 2 weeks old. Before this I had an iPhone 4, and you could choose which collection you wanted to post from,
but my 5c is also only showing camera roll, pehich is rather annoying to say the least!

Can't access shared files

I have set up a shared folder in OS X 10.6 server for my workgroup. This folder is on the second hard drive (non-boot) of a two-drive Mac Mini server. When I log in I can see all the files, but whenever anyone else in the group logs in, they do not have permission. I setup permission for this shared point in server admin so that all members of the group have read and write permission. I verified this for each member using the Effective Permissions Inspector.
Suggestions for how to gain access to the shared folder?

I think you have your use of "dweeb" reversed. A dweeb knows what a SACL is. Or did I mix up dweeb and nerd again?
File Services Access Control
Server Admin in Mac OS X Server enables you to configure service access control lists (SACLs), which enable you to specify which users and groups have access to AFP, FTP, and SMB file services.
Using SACLs enables you to add another layer of access control on top of standard POSIX and ACL permissions. Only users and groups listed in a SACL have access to its corresponding service. For example, if you want to prevent users from accessing a server’s AFP share points, including home folders, remove the users from the AFP service’s SACL.

Can not see shared files

Windows Xp sp3, wrt54g2, Kodak wireless picture frame
Picture frame can see router (wirelessly), computer can see router (by wire), Have Media player 11 which sees the picture frame. Picture frame does not see the computer nor shared files. Picture frame knows the SSID and password. Network Magic says there are no shared files. I have right clicked on My Pictures folder and have shared it (and others as a trial). Network magic draws a path. Have turned off firewall and antivirus. Can ping everything ok. What do I do next to share files on the network? Specifically pictures.

Read this and try to share the picture between wireless frame and comuter.

I can not access my files in time machine

I am trying to restore a file from time machine. When I try to select the file in time machine, it is not accessible. I can not select anything. Only the folder that was selected when I started time machine is highlighted and can be restored but I can not switch to a different folder or select a specific file.

This option was removed in v9.1.5

This is my set-up:
laptop (wireless to) > Airport Extreme > switch > Dual G5 file server
The internet on my laptop is working fine.
Curiously, the netword tab shows the computer that I am trying to connect to for file sharing. When I go to log in, it hesitates, and then says 'The server may not exist or is not operational' - but it sees it and displays it in the Finder.
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

I solved it myself.
I enabled Appletalk, got the afp address from the host machine, plugged it into a connect request on my laptop, and now I have access to all the volumes.

I've upgraded to OSX 10.8.2 and Iphoto 9.4 but I still can not access shared photo stream???

I've looked at all of my settings on my macbook pro 13" and everything is setup correctly and the software version of my iphoto and upgraded to OSX and it still prompts me the screen that says I need to upgrade when I try to access a shared photo stream....help please.

The most recent iPhoto is 9.4.2, so open Apple menu > Software Update and install the most recent iPhoto. Also, check if you have another iPhoto copy of an older version on your Mac

[HELP!] Can't access shared folder from Azure Web Role on same Azure Virtual Network

I have an Azure Virtual Network that has a virtual machine acting like an app server running some legacy applications that is writing some files to a folder that is shared.
This shared folder is accessible from other virtual machines within that virtual network without issue.
The problem I am having is that I have an Azure Web Role that is also attached to the above
Azure Virtual Network that is unable to access the shared folder. I know the web role can see the app server as it is able to ping the IP of the machine.
There is some code that needs access to the shared folder to process some of the files that is stored there, but the code won't run because it can not access these files. I used Remote Desktop to see if I could ping the machine, and I can, but I cannot navigate
to the path in file explorer due to access being denied.
Can anyone offer any advice or tips to point me in the right direction to gain access to this shared folder from my Azure Web Role?

Form your descirpiton, I suggest you can refer to Tom Zhang's solution via this
link:
1. Enable Remote Desktop. (You have done this step)
    2. RDP to one instance of your service. Open up IIS Manager and set the application pool identity to use the account that we used for RDP.
    3. On on-premise local machine, right click "My Computer' and select "Manage". Add a new account with the same account name and password as we specified for Remote Desktop.
    4. Give the new account necessary permissions to write file to the shared folder. (I think you have done this step too)
    5. Try running the code again and see if it works.
    6. If it still says "access to path <folder path located on local machine> is denied". Please check the permission of the shared folder again.
    7. If it works, then the next step is to configure the application pool identity using Startup Task instead of using Remote Desktop (See the suggestion inhttp://social.technet.microsoft.com/Forums/en-US/windowsazuresecurity/thread/247ba75e-87d9-497c-9ec6-1fd4e2c7ff90).
But I still recommend you enable Remote Desktop for your web role to check if the Startup Task has successfully configured the application pool identity or not.

PlayBook connects to the computer, but does not open the store, I can not access it.

Out of nowhere my computer stopped connecting Playbook, recognizes, but does not open for storage, I can not access the file or anything nehum Playbook by computer. I tried to sync it using the BlackBerry Desktop Software, but he also only recognizes and failed to fix the error, and have formatted the Playbook, uninstalled the drives from my computer and reinstalled them again and nothing. Can anyone help?

You don't have access to it to configure it via Time Machine? You lost me on that one, Time Machine is used for Backup.

To configure Time Capsule you should be using "Airport Utility" 5.3 or higher that is located in the Utilities folder. You can tell if its version 5.3 because the icon will have blue lines instead of orange lines like the older versions. Since you are running Leopard 10.5.6 and you ran Software Update you are probably already running the latest 5.3 version.
The light flashing amber means you haven't entered enough information so that it can get to the internet. Once you have that info entered the light will turn green.
If your absolutely sure your CAT5 cables are good you can try a hard reset. I think you have to push the reset button on the back and hold it for 5 seconds or so until the amber light blinks rapidly, then when you release the button it does the reset then.

Can not access the media card files Blackberry 8310 - HELP

Can not access the media card files Blackberry 8310.
I had a battery drain problem. The unit would only last 16 hours before completely drained. Purchased a new battery with the same result. I figured that I should try a complete reset so I did a hard wipe. Once that was done and I loaded the unit back up and returned online, the battery drain problem was resolved but now I can not access the media card.
Here are the messages:
“A media card has been inserted that contains encrypted content which will be unaccessible by this device”
I can see the files. I have transferred them to my PC via the SD card but I can not open them. Here are the settings:
Media card support – ON
Encryption Mode: - Security Password & Device
Encrypt Media Files – YES
Mass Storage Mode Support – OFF
Please note – I can not change the encryption mode since it is set by policy
Security Options – General Settings – Content Protection – Disabled
The version of Desktop Manage I am using is 4.2.1.8. When I try to use the Media Manager to move the files, I get an error message and can’t move the file. If I access the file on the card and try to display it, I get:
Unable to display file /media card/ pictures/ing000000xx.jpg.rem
Here is what I have tried (from the advice on this board):
1)     Read the files directly off the media card – No good
2)     Create a “new” folder on the media card and move a file into it then try to read it – No good
3)     Email the file then read it – No good
4)     Reset Encryption mode to off then try – Can’t do it – IT Policy setting
5)     Be sure that the password was set the same as before the wipe (setting is password & device) – Can’t do it – The Blackberry prevents me from using an old password.
So I think I can’t read the files because I can’t replicate the encryption key. Could that be right? My problem is that I do not understand why this would be the case. It is still the same device and since it knows what the old password was (because it would prevent me from using it again), why would it not generate a key to access the files?
All I am trying to get off the card are pictures on my 6 year old … some are priceless. Can someone help me do this? One would think that this should not be this hard but from all the postings I have found, it seems that it is. And yes, shame on me for not moving the files before I did the reset (THAT will never happen again!) but this being unrecoverable is unconscionable given how many seem to find themselves in this situation.

Not sure why you couldn't see them using mass storage mode. Did you have the pics stored on your media card? Try going to media-menu-explore-media card-blackberry-pictures See what the extension is on your pics. If any have the extension such as .jpg.rem they are encrypted.
