Can not burn itunes play list to dvd disk
i have windows xp. computer is 2 yrs old. i am using itunes version 6.0.5 all of a sudden i can not burn my itunes purchased music to a dvd disk. it says initalzing but is not copying songs to disk. how do i figure out if it is a problem with itunes or my dvd burner. never had this problem before.

I recently had to reinstall my software for a
dell computer a dell latitude d 830, then after installing all of my software and such including itunes the player did well even record to disks with no problems now that my system has done alot of updating of system files....now the itunes does not burn to my cd...error message 2131 this time ..this has occurred several times on this sytem and and as well as other system this one has window vista 64 bit home prem. why is the itunes not working to burn my disks

The 2131 usually indicates firmware needs to be updated on a drive.
Head to your drivers and downloads page for your latitude at Dell, and check for updates to your firmware for your optical drives. If you're behind and you update, does that clear up the 2131? -

I'm having some trouble and i think it's very strange.
I can't record audio or data cd's!
i've used sonic reducer, as nero, as windows media player..tried 3 different brands of cd'r and i can't burn audio or data files in any of those..BUT...on the other hand i can burn DVD'S...this is very strange right?
Ps: when i record with nero i keep having this message on the relatory of the burning process : "power calibration error" but only i when i try to burn cd´s.. dvd's recording doesn't have this problem
do i need to update some drivers?
please any help would be super or i will have to make a big trip to solve the problem on the laptop shop.
regards"Power calibration" - When burning a CD the drive tries to write a test signal to the disk to set the calibration of the laser. If it cannot write a readable signal, this is called a "power calibration error". The error message usually means that there is something wrong with the media.
Please try to use few different empty CDs (Verbatim, TDK, Maxell and others).

I can not burn a cd in itnes. When I open itunes it tells me the dirvers for importing and burning cds & dvds are missing. It tells me to reinstall itunes. I have done this and it does not help. How can I solve this problem?
I'd start with the following document, with one modification. At step 12 after typing GEARAspiWDM press the Enter/Return key once prior to clicking OK. (Pressing Return adds a carriage return in the field and is important.)

Also when I open itunes it gives me a warning and says "The registry settings used by the itunes drivers for importingand burning cd's and dvds are missing. Please reinstall itunes."
With that one let's first try a reboot and repair.
Reboot the PC (very important), and the do a *repair install* of iTunes.
Go to your "Add or Remove Programs" control panel, select iTunes, click "Change" and then click "Repair".
Does iTunes launch without the error message now?
If no luck there, try checking for a device filter conflict in your registry:

I have set up a new user account with admin privileges but it did not work.
Please, note that I am trying to burn the same Kodak Pro dvds for photo and data archival that I burned in the past in the same MacPro.
I am actually burning my dvds using my MacBook Pro connected with my MacPro through Airport but it's a very slow process, of course.

When you say they are displaying in your iTunes library, are you talking about the Audiobooks section of your iTunes library and not the audiobooks section indented under the iPod in the left pane of iTunes under Devices?
Is the iPod Shuffle configured to sync audiobooks or do you manually manage the iPod's contents?

since Mac OS X 10.4.4 (same with 10.4.5) i can not burn a Data DVD-RW anymore. It is so annoying. I want to burn my backup on a DVD-RW with the Burn Folders in Mac OS X. it is not possible.
The Finder burn dialog hangs at the "ending burning process". It is so annoying.
It's not possible to erase this "half burned" DVD-RW too! So I have here a lot of destroyed DVD-RWs around me...
The burning of DVD-RWs is a problem since 10.4.0 here on my machine. With 10.4.3 it was half o.k. ... But since 10.4.4 (10.4.5) nothing works anymore.

If there is no iDVD on Your Mac (and it's not on newer Macs as Apple discarded it) then You need a program that can do this.
Your Mac can burn CDs and DVDs - BUT DVD as Data-DVDs not as Video-DVDs - they need a program to be encoded and STRUCTURED as such.
• iDVD is part of the boxed version of iLife'11 and can only be bought outside Apple as on Amazon and e-bay
• DVD Studio pro - Part of FinalCut Studio Pro bundle - this to has expired and can only be bought second handed. (High price and tough learning Curve - but best ever done.)
• Roxio Toast™ - Not as elegant as iDVD - but has many other positive additions (I like it as 10-Pro incl BD-component) (now version 11)
• Burn - only free alternative I know of on internet. Very simple - Just for doing a plain Video-DVD

Burning multiple play lists on Itunes
How do I burn multiple play lists on a CD-R or CD-RW using Itunes?
So say when I finish burning my CD will have 2 separate folders or Play lists of music thus braking down my music into folders.If you want to burn a data CD with two folders of audio files, just do it in the Finder.

New problem. I can not burn a playlist to disk. The 'checking playlist' now takes about one second, looks very much like a malfunction here. Seems to initialize the disk - them moves straight into 'burning/finalizing disk' which also takes about one second. Then 'burning - finishing disk takes a little longer -
Error reading is "The attempt to burn a disc failed. The disk drive didn't respond properly an can't recover.'
This happend once before a while back and I thought it was 'too skinny disks'. Using 'printable disks; seemed to fix the problem - until now.
Blank cd's can be opened in the finder and files burnt to them.
DVD's can be burned from DVD Pro.
Music cd's and dvd's can be played.

From your iMac? OS 10.9.2? iTunes? Other? please give as much info as you can about your system hardware and peripherals, OS, software, etc. Is this misbehavior new? First try? You get the idea, too much info is not possible.

I would like to take a iTunes play list and put it on a USB drive for my car radio to stay in my car. Is there a way to do this through iTunes so you have all the song info and there's no number in front of the name of the song? Is there a program?
iTunes only syncs to Apple devices.
Assuming the media is not DRM protected, any of the media can be dragged and dropped from iTunes onto other drives (external, flash, etc) as the user chooses. -
The problem: Can not burn a Blu-ray disc.
I open Premiere Elements 12 and load my project and then go to “publish and share” my project, I select "create Disc – Burn DVD, Blu-ray and AVCHD disc", I select "Blu-ray", the disc location and settings box opens and the “status” setting indicates "Media not present”. I know the Pioneer Blu-ray BDR-2208 drive works properly because I have already published regular DVDs in it and had no problems. I thought perhaps it was a problem with the initializing of the disc whether you choose (Mastered) as opposed to (Live File System). Neither works. I tired Phillips BD-R disc & Memorex BD-RE disc, neither works. The only thing I noticed was the burner location setting is indicating a Pioneer BDR-208M burner rather than a Pioneer BDR-2208 burner. Could this be the problem? Remember that burner will burn regular DVD's. Does Premiere Elements 12 require some other additional software on my computer to burn a Blu-ray disc? Also is there a list of compatible Blu-ray burners? BTW I am using Windows 8.1.Attached is a screenshot of the dialog box that opens up when I place a regular DVD or Blu-ray in my desktop computer.
In order for me to burn a DVD project in premiere elements if I do not initialize the disc with the above procedure I receive a media not present in the settings box of premiere elements. I assumed I have to do the same thing with a Blu-ray too. I've tried following this procedure, also tried using the live file system. Also tried putting a fresh disc in without doing anything to it and always receive the media not present in the status setting. One suggestion has been that another program is interfering with premiere elements. I will also go out and purchase some Verbatim BD-RE disc, whether they work right now or not I can always use them later after I solve my problem.
I Have a lot of great suggestions from you guys and I really appreciate it. I'm going to work on some of those today starting with loading imgburn and see if I can indeed burn a Blu-ray disc with my system. I have already created a AVCHD BDMV file on my computer and I will start with trying to work with that and see if that is successful and then come back to premiere elements. I appreciate the input regarding Cyberlink software. I have version 8 (came with my Pioneer Blu-ray Drive) and was thinking about upgrading to the latest version but with your input regarding Power Producer I will save my money.
Another thought I had, with Blu-ray disc burners being as cheap as they are purchase one that has been proven to work with premiere elements 12.1. Time is money, the cost of a new Blu-ray burner is insignificant. I will consider this option later. -

I teach at an art school with about 100 MAC Pros; about half are 2 x 2X Dual-Core Xeons with 2 GB RAM. We have Pioneer DVR-112D DVD burners. We can't afford to buy 100 Blu-Ray burners; I hope we afford even one.

I realize you can't get nearly as much time on a regular DVD disk, and you can't play a regular DVD disk in a Blu-Ray player. But could we burn short projects (15 minutes) onto regular DVD disks in HD and play them back on our same Macs - in HD?

That is what you want to do, you are making red dye semi-HD DVD (not bells and whistles, just video streams and menus for the most part) so if you make an HD project in DVD SP then burn it to a red dye DVD-R/+R that is what you get, can burn straight from your computer and it will also play in HD DVD players (which will be vey rare shortly ) Some older macs may not play the disc properly nut it should work fine on the new ones
