Can not create a environment variable from a script

Hi I need to develop a script that allows me to create and set two environment variables in my system but I can�t get it ....
This is what I got till now ...
#!/sbin/sh
SEISDB_HOME=/usr/local/
export SEISDB_HOME
LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/local/lib
export LD_LIBRARY_PATH
If I run this commands directly in the shell it works Ok ... but calling the sentence from a script nothing happens ....

do this
create a script file
vi /tmp/temp
in /tmp/temp add
GLOBAL_VARIABLE="Hello World"; export GLOBAL_VARIABLE
save and quit vi
fix the permissions and run /tmp/temp from a shell prompt
then
echo $GLOBAL_VARIABLE
should show as empty
from a shell window type
. /tmp/temp
period space /tmp/temp
echo $GLOBAL_VARIABLE
for you script, do the same.
do not type the script name, but source it (add a period and space)

Use global variables.
Compare them with a constant Boolean like F or T.
The result is true or false and then you can use it in a Cae-Loop.

Can not create a pdf file from print menue using mountain lion

I can not seem print a page from Safari to desktop as a pdf.

What happens when you try? There are other reports here that it takes two tries in some applications, though Safari has not been mentioned yet.

The problem is that iTunes content is not available in Libya. That's why your ID won't work & there is nothing you can do about this.

Can not open JPEG files and can not create JPEG files from other software

Can not open JPEG files and can not create JPEG files from other software (For example from Solidworks).
When I try to right click on a JPEG, a notice window appears written: "Windows Explorer has stopped working - Windows is
checking for a solution to the problem" and then the notice box disapears, the desktop appears and I can continue working.
From the other side - If I try to save as JPEG a screen of Solidworks (like a view of a part) the Solidworks falls but the JPEG
is created (I can see its name in the directory I created it).
I can open the JPEGS with the Paint software if I want but not with the Windows Photo Viewer.
I have the feeling that the Windows Photo Viewer disapeared from my computer - just a feeling.
I will appreciate your assistance.

Did Windows Photo Viewer option appear when you right click the JPEG file and select open with?

You can't, you can only buy content from your own country's store - to be able to buy from another country's store you need a valid billing address in that country and be in that country when buying from it. You will either need to make do with what is in the South African store (and I know that it hasn't got the same content as in other countries), or for music you could use other music purchase download sites that you have access to (and you can copy your own CDs).

Admin Tool can not create any new database or model [nqserror 46131]

Hi everyone!
I can not create anything new in each layer on the admin tool. It marks unknown error.
When I try to import metadata it send the message: [nqserror 46131] unresolved hostname, everything in online mode. I can modify everything offline, then replace the rpd and I can create reports in Answers. But I need to do all of these online mode.
Everything else works well (Answers, Dashboards, Publisher). The server name is correctly put in the instanceconfig.xml.
OBIEE Version: 11.1.1.6.0 (upgrade recently from 11.1.1.5). The scheduler does not start since migration.
Server OS: Red hat enterprise edition

I slightly modified your script to recatalog the backup pieces since they are note stored at the same location in PR and QA.
No luck. The error message is different but the result is the same... it keeps failing.

Can i use a environment variable inside a *.sql file?

Hello,
I want to create a external table.
So i am using the command
create or replace directory abc as 'C:\folder'.... inside a sql file.
Now i want the path "C:\folder" to be dynamic as i am using this path in many other places also inside the sql file.So i thought to create a environment variable and put this value there.I tried using as %PATH% but it gives error..... where %PATH%=C:\folder.
Can i use a environment variable inside a *.sql file?
But how to do that or is there any other way.

You can work around it by (creating and) using a function (running under a super user schema with authid definer privs). The caller (e.g. schema scott ) calls it with a physical path. E.g. GetDirectoryObject( 'C:\folder\2010\feb\week4' ).

FRM-10044 Can not create a file URGENT PLEASE!!

I installed Oracle 8i and Forms 6i in a pentium 4 changing the symcjit.dll -> symcjit.old.
Now I want to use the same scripts and Forms that I have saved using my old machine but I can't save new forms or update the old ones.
FRM 10044 Can not create the file
I can run the scripts in SQL.
Please Help me it is urgent.
I have installed and uninstalled the Data Base many times and I have read previous posts.

"Cannot Create File" means forms failed to create/save the file. Check the following
* Do you have full access to the drive?
* Did you mark either the form or its directory as read only?

How to access environment variables from pluggable destination?

Hi,
I'm trying to create a java puggable destination for reports. Everything is working fine.
I want to access reports environment variables from the java code (like REPORTS_PATH and other new variables that I want to create), but I can't find anything about this in the java API documentation.
I want to use environment variables instead of destination properties (those I can easily access), because I want to be able to change context using env_id.
Any ideas?

JMStudio Error "Can not create session manager"

Hi,
I'm trying to transmit an mpg file through a simple pc to pc network, using the transmission wizard in the JMStudio, and everytime it causes a "can not create session manager" error, even when I try to transmit .mp3 file
I'm using an ip like 100.100.0.1 for the sender machine, and 100.100.0.2 for the receiver machine, and I don't know where is the problem

Um,maybe the port that you use for transmission is already occupied.
Make sure that you are not using JMStudio to transmit streams while trying to receive streams from the same port.

We face the same problem with some BI4 reports.
The same report works well with the "Crystal Reports Viewers API", as used in Infoview, but not with the "Report Application Server (RAS) API".
This error appears after some time working on a report. If we reproduce the same report, but from zero, no problem.
