There have been posts about it in the page. Try turning the account off and on : Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars , then tap the account on the right, slide Mail to 'off', exit settings and go back into the Mail app, and then go back to Settings and slide Mail back to 'on'
If that doesn't fix it then try closing the Mail app via the taskbar : from the home screen (i.e. not with the Mail app 'open' on-screen) double-click the home button to bring up the taskbar at the bottom of the screen, then press and hold any of the apps on the taskbar for a couple of seconds or so until they start shaking, then press the '-' in the top left of the Mail app to close it, and touch any part of the screen above the taskbar so as to stop the shaking and close the taskbar.
A third-option if the above two don't fix it is a soft-reset : press and hold both the sleep and home buttons for about 10 to 15 seconds (ignore the red slider), after which the Apple logo should appear - you won't lose any content, it's the iPad equivalent of a reboot.

I can not delete an email I get a message218130.emlx” couldn’t be copied because you don’t have permission to access “Messages”

Actually, the Finder solution did not work for me, but here's what did:
    Quit Mail (for safety's sake).
Open Terminal (it's in Utilities folder usually, but since I updated to ML it's in a folder called Other for some reason)
Once Terminal is open, you'll want to login as ROOT.  You do this as follows:
    Type
    sudo -i
Then hit Enter/Return. You'll be promoted for your system password. Hopefully you'll remember it. Enter your password then hit Enter/Return.
You'll then be at what's known as a root prompt.
At this point BE VERY CAREFUL.  You have the ability at this point to completely destroy your machine beyond repair. Only type what I list below:
To find the folder that contains the email message you'll need to type the following:
    find . -name "218130.emlx"
    Hit Enter/Return
This will take a minute or two but what should appear in the list of other items that appear is something along the lines of the following (it won't be exactly this but will look LIKE this) I've replaced some personally identifying info:
    ./Users/yourname/Library/Mail/V2/POP-youremailaddress@yourmailserver/INBOX.mbox/ 0355DF0D-5E99-4798-B79E-48D71E68AF34/Data/3/2/Messages/23219.emlx
This line describes the location of the offending email. You know what to put yourself into this directory:
    cd /Users/yourname/Library/Mail/V2/POP-youremailaddress@yourmailserver/INBOX.mbox/0 355DF0D-5E99-4798-B79E-48D71E68AF34/Data/3/2/Messages/
    Hit Enter/Return
Notice, I left of the name of the actual email address. You'll need to be sure you type the location EXACTLY or this won't work. You want to be in the Messages folder. You'll know you're there because your Terminal prompt will look something like this:
    Your Name - iMac:Messages
Then just to be sure you're in the right place, type
    ls
    Hit Enter/Return
You should then see something like this:
    iMac:Messages root# ls
    23013.emlx    23096.emlx    23100.emlx    23156.emlx    23210.emlx    23213.emlx    218130.emlx
You'll see the offending message. Now, you delete ONLY this message. Type:
    rm -f 218130.emlx
That's RM at the start above. You'll need to type it in lower case. Be sure that's all you type.
    Hit Enter/Return
You'll should be disappointed at the results because it will look like nothing happened. You can hit ls  and Enter/Return one more time and the offending file should be gone.
EXIT TERMINAL. DO NOT TYPE ANYTHING ELSE. DO NOT "POKE AROUND". THIS IS NOT THE PLACE TO EXPLORE. SERIOUS SYSTEM DAMAGE CAN BE CAUSED FROM HERE. EXIT TERMINAL NOW.
Now re-open Mail  - the message will still appear to be in there, but magically, you can delete it. you can also delete it from your Trash for good measure.

  • Can not delete gmail emails, why on my new Mac Book OS x 9.4  pro

Can not delete gmail emails, why, on my new Mac Book OS x 9.4

    Hi,
First I uninstalled my old HP Scan application using uninstall in the same folder as the app.
Then I installed HP Scanjet Full Feature Software and Drivers for Mac OS X v10.6 from HP support page:  http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareDownloadIndex?softwareitem=sj-78355-5 &cc=us&dlc=en&lc=en&os=219&product=3236366&sw_lang=
Then I was able to make single scans using Image Capture.
    Does it help?

  • Can not delete my emails. The same emails keep coming back instantly

I can not delete email messages. The same messages keep coming back instantly.

What seems to have worked for other users in the past.
Delete, then reinstall the email account
    Then sync the iPad.
No one knows why, but it often fixes the problem.

  • Can not delete one email!?!?  it wont let me delete it!

I can not delete a certain email. Each time i click the trash can, it brings me back to the home screen.

Try closing the mail application fully, then rebooting and try again.  To close the app fully, go to your home page.  Double tap your home button to bring up the most recently used apps (task bar).  With your finger hold in on any of the recently used apps till they all start to jiggle.  On the upper left side of each app will be a sign.  Touch the minus sign on the Mail App and it will fully close.  Touch your home button one more time to stop the apps from jiggling and then again to return to your home screen.
To reboot:  Press and hold BOTH the home and power buttons at the SAME time for at least 10 seconds (ignore the red slider) until the Apple Logo appears, then let go of both buttons and your iPad will restart.  Once back up, open your mail app and see if you can delete the message.

  • Can not delete ICloud email drafts after sending

I can not delete email drafts that showup after sending an email via icloud.  Any suggestions?

    Hi Joeuscg,
I've had this problem before, and there is a way to fix it!
    Mac computer
On a Mac, go to Mail and open Preferences. Go to the 'Accounts' tab and select your iCloud account. Under 'Mailbox Behaviours' you will see a box marked 'Store draft messages on the server'. You need to make sure it is unchecked.
    iOS device
On an iOS device, go to settings and go to the iCloud section. Then, tap 'Account' at the top of the page, and scroll down and tap 'Mail' under 'Advanced'. Scroll down again and tap 'Advanced'. Finally, tap 'Drafts Mailbox' and make sure 'Drafts' under 'On My iPad/iPhone/iPod' is selected.
Essentially, the problem is that Mail is saving drafts of your messages to the server as you write them. The problem occurs when you send the message, and Mail then redownloads the draft from the server. By disabling saving drafts to the server, you are stopping this conflict from occuring.
I hope this helps! Feel free to ask if you have any more questions.

  • Can not delete Music on iPad (not on computer)

I have music on my ipad (with retirna display) that is not on my itunes on my MAC.  I can not delete them.
I have looked at all the suggestions, but still no answer.
    Any real suggestions
    thanka
    tim

    Hello Tim,
It sounds like you don't have the option to delete music on your iPad when swiping to delete.  If the song has a cloud icon to the right of it, this indicates the song is being streamed from iTunes in the Cloud.
You can choose to hide all songs that are not downloaded on to your iPad in Settings:
Just show music that’s been downloaded from iCloud. Go to Settings > Music, then turn off Show All Music.
iPad User Guide - iTunes Match
    http://help.apple.com/ipad/7/#/iPad99f373c1
Alternatively, if the song was purchased from iTunes, you can hide the song by accessing the iTunes Store on the computer:
    To hide your purchases
Open iTunes on your Mac or PC.
From the Store menu, choose Store > Sign In, and then enter your Apple ID and password.
    Go to the iTunes Store.
Click Purchased from the Quick Links section on the right side of the iTunes Store.
Choose a content type by clicking on Music, TV Shows, Apps, or Books from top.
Hover your cursor over the item you want to hide.
You will see an "X" either to the right or left top corner of the item.
Click the "X" to hide that item. A confirmation dialog will appear once you click the "X."
iTunes Store: Hiding and unhiding purchases
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4919
You will need to quit and relaunch the Music app on your iPad after hiding the purchase on your computer before seeing the changes.
Thank you for using Apple Support Communities.
    Best,
    Sheila M.

  • Apple disabled Apple ID when moved to new one, can not delete old from iPad

Followed apple process to move Apple Id to a new email on my Macbook Pro.. Now can't login with original apple ID to turn off find my iPad. Appears Apple disabled it, since I know the password. Attempted to also login on Macbook Pro using the (old)previous ID and it can not be found. What to do? Was not told to disable all find my (products) before doing the Apple ID transfer process. Guess I need to completely disable devices restore and start over, if that is allowed. If I go and change the new Apple ID back to the old I will be asked to verify the old email and it has been disabled by my previous employer. Will restoring my devices using the backups on my Macbook Pro bring back the old Apple ID and get caught in a permanent loop? iPad air, iPhone 5s. Both current version 7.1.2 latest.

If you've already tried unsuccessfully to recreate the old ID from the new one (and encountered a prompt to verify the old email address), you need to contact Apple for assistance https://expresslane.apple.com, then click More Products and Services>Apple ID>Other Apple ID Topics>Lost or forgotten Apple ID password.  They can also tell you if the ID is disabled or not.
The call should be free but you will need your serial number to set it up, which you can find in Settings>General>About on your iPad.

  • Can not delete blank lines

    Hi
    Using FM10
I have blank lines that do not show up as \P (carriage returns) and I do not see a anchored frame.
I took a screen snapshot, between the text "In this context" there are all these blank lines. Is there
some "view" in FM10 that will show what's hidden? You can see there are no paragraphs (carriage returns)
in the blank section, at the bottom of the image there is a carriage return after mechanism.
    --Ross

    Hi
Thanks for the help. I opened paragraph designer & pagination sub menu. The keep with radio box Previous Pgf is checked and I modified the value in Window/Orphan Lines: box. I selected the text between \P and changed the value from 3 to 4 and the blank lines disappeared. I looked at other paragraphs and the values in the box changed sometimes it was 3 other places it was 99.
Maybe when I accidentally did a text paste from a pdf comment block it added esc characters that changed this box value?

  • Can not delete an email that has nothing in the body. The email app exits.

Unable to delete a mail item that has nothing in the body. Delete, move or edit delete causes mail to exit. When re-entering mail, it is still there

someone else had this problem and a way to get around it.
if you swipe the item when it is not sellected, a "delete" button will appear on the item and allow you to delete it.  I have found that you need to also go to the delete file and delete all items there and then exit mail to insure that they are not brought back to the in box from the deleted box the next time you enter mail.

  • Can not delete an empty email

    Morning.
I've found an empty email in a local mailbox. In the headers viewer only »Today« is displayed as »Date received«, no subject, no sender, nothing else, and no content.
Mail.app can not display the raw source of this emails and no long headers. And -- most curious -- I can not delete this email. If I try so, the email disappears for a snatch but re-appears instantly.
I've rebuild the mailbox for two times, but the culprit won't disappear.
What can I do to fix this problem?
    TIA and kind regards, Friedrich

A third rebuild of the mailbox did fix the problem.
    For whatever reason.

  • I can not delete unwanted message because I am not getting the delete button popup to activate deletion. Where did it go!?

I can not delete unwanted emails because my delete prompt button is not appearing after I prompt edit and choose my email to edit. How do I make the prompt button to appear on edit page as before?    Thanks MRH

Close out of the mail app, double tap the home button and completely close out of the app.
then do a reset, no data loss.  Hold down the home/sleep button together until you see the apple logo and then release, then wait for the phone to boot back up.
then check and see if you can delete emails.
