I just ran the sample code you provided and got no errors on 11.2.0.1 on 64-bit Windows.
EDIT1: Is the format of the code on your system the same as it is here on the forum? I mean, no line breaks, hidden characters, etc.? The format here is correct.

I followed this exactly, except for the slide show (and I made a DVD instead of flash), but when I checked the project, I get the error message "End action will not execute because of end action on the final chapter point".
I don't understand. I did not change any end points except for the one specified in this tutorial. (About the Max footage for the very beginning, before the menu). If anything was added, it was Adobe's doing.
I do notice that in 00:04 in the tutorial, there's a downward arrow on the very end of the timeline. My timeline does not have this. How was this done?
In the Encore software, after the timeline is loaded, there is no arrow at the very end. Mine doesn't have that either.
I'm finding Adobe/Encore's way of making menus rather difficult. With Pinnacle Studios (at least through 8-12), making menus was easy, and it set up the chapters for you. Why can't there be an automated menu feature in Encore?
Anyway, here's my project:
Main time line has 9 chapters. When clicking on their chapter points, all say End Action: not set.
When I click on the white bar above the lite purple footage of the time line, where the chapter point's bottom rest, it says, End Action: Not Set AND Menu Remote: Return to Last Menu.
All 9 chapter points are white.
In the flowcart, there is the DVD icon --> my few seconds opening credits --> menu that has a Play All and Scene Selection button
Play All goes to first chapter of video
Scene Selection (submenu #1) goes to 6 scenes, a next, previous, main menu. All seem to be linked properly.
Scene Selection for scenes 7-9 are in the #2 submenu. Has a previous button and a main menu button. All seem to be linked properly.
Can anyone offer any advice? Help? I need to make this DVD and two others by the end of the week!

If I make a change in the timeline in Premiere, will that new change be reflected in the timeline of Encore?
If you used Adobe Dynamic Link, then yes, the Timeline will be updated. If you did not, then you will need to Export again, then Import into Encore. Watch out if you have already Transcoded, etc., and I'd name the new Timeline Export differently, Import that, use Replace Asset. When a Project is very new, and nothing much has been done, it will not be so picky. After a couple of links, etc., it gets VERY picky, and Replace Asset will help.
Is there a way to reload the project without having to redo all the menus and links?
If you did a Save_As, or still have your original Project, i.e. you started a completely new Project with a unique name, you can go back to the original.

Compiling COBOLs in PSOVM - psrun.mak error - "cob64: can not execute Id".

After installing PeopleSoft OVM in our server, I need to recompile the COBOL. I believe this is not included in the OVM. These are the steps I did.
1. Installed Microfocus Server Express 5.0 WrapPack 4
2. Follow the steps in Compiling Cobol in Unix mentioned is the PeopleTools_8.50_Installation_Oracle guide.
I was able to successfully compille the COBOL files by running ./pscbl.mak. The next step is Linking COBOL Components on UNIX by running ./psrun.mak and here I got the error:

Adobe Encore CS4: End action will not execute because of end action on the final chapter point

Error I’m getting for section titled Notes (PP 45 second video): “End action will not execute because of end action on the final chapter point.”
The icon that shows error is in top line second from end. I’m trying to 'end action' that portion of the video by going back to 'menu default'; also tried end action w/ ‘Stop’ and neither work.
I saw a post about checking timeline. Not sure what I’m looking for there. I have nothing in Orphanage area. I also tried building despite Check Project error and it will not build project. Any suggestions on how to fix: “End action will not execute because of end action on the final chapter point.”?

Select chapter one on that timelne. Look in the properties panel. Does it have an end action? You do not want an end action on the chapter; just on the timeline itself.
That will not generally prevent a build, however. So you may have other issues.

Can i use "begin" and "end" in a database control

i just want to know if i can use begin and end with several sql update statments in between in a database control. u see, i need to run few update statements together. i don't want to put them in seperate method. i was wondering if i could put them together in on method and run it. is there any other way to do it if begin and end are not allowed. thanks

I have a J2EE application, for which I have a module which is used by system administrators. this module is completly written in Java swing.
and it does talk to my EJBs.
If you don't have a firewall in your application, then you can directly make your applications in awt, swing and applets talk to EJBs. if you do have a firewall, then just write a web-service wrapper over your EJBs and other J2EE components and use them from desktop applications.
It seems that you want to implement a kind of a applet based monitor application for your J2EE EJBs on the server. Applets cannot directly monitor your EJBs.
Create a new module which has a service which acts as an event listener on the server. each j2ee component on the server notify it if there is a change to them. this service, can then write the data realted to the modification on a socket which is continiously being read by the applet. So you can implement a kind of a monitor for J2ee apps with applets.

Can not Login Dev or End user ID

Hi all,
I created a new WORKSPACE WS1 as the SUPER ADMIN.
I then created an admin user WS1_ADMIN for this workspace (WS1).
I also created a developer user WS1_DEV for this workspace (WS1).
I also created a end user WS1_USER for this workspace (WS1).
My problem is, I can login successfully using the userid "ws1_admin" , but I can not login to "ws1_dev" and "ws1_user" even if I tried changing password over and over again. It kept on saying "invalid credentials".
Is there anything I missed out?

I have an application named ABC id 101, I developed in apex 2.0 in 10gXE database using the schema HR. I can run it on public using the id HR. Then I migrated it to APEX 4.0.2 in another database which is 11gR1. I migrated it using export/import. I imported it to my new worspace (WS1) and user "ws1_admin".
My problem is when I run the application is still asking for the HR id.
It will not accept the ws1_admin id in which It was imported anew, I am confused now where did it imported the old id "HR". How can I change the login id to the new ones?

After a number of error messages appear it ask if I want to erase them! Also I will try moving the document & it opens in Adobe photoshop elements. Then it shows only the first page that looks like a picture. I can not open any other pages. The only documents I can get are Exel. Please help!

Unable to exit a PL/SQL Begin and End Statement

I'm calling and SQL files from the SQL PLUS prompt using
@mysqlfile.sql
which contains the following:

current_year varchar2(20) := trim(to_char(sysdate,'YYYY'));

PR_BUILD_REPORTS(current_month,current_year);
end;
This call to mysqlfile.sql is called from a Unix Shell script.
The shell script hangs because the operation does not exit from teh mysqlfile.sql call. I have tried including and explict exit command after the proc call. I have also tried using exec <proc_name>;
Can anyone shed some light on the above?

The problem with the code is that you are trying to access a symbol "power" from symbol "menu", but "power" symbol is not there inside the "menu" symbol. The "power" symbol is on the stage.
So, if you replace the code
sym.getSymbol('power').play('in');
with
sym.getComposition().getStage().getSymbol("power").play("in"); //We are accessing the "power" symbol from stage symbol
you will resolve the issue.

Hello Markus,
You're probably stuck in the synonyms and grants pit.
Check the owners of the procedures you use in the other procedures. When they're used in different schemes/owners grant execute rights directly (not using a role).
Also when you use the SQL Workshop tot test your code, be aware that this runs using the APEX_PUBLIC_USER (try : select user from dual).
So this user needs to be granted to execute the procedures you've created. (And probably you have to define some synonyms).

Can not execute a simple update query with ms access

first, in the SQL string all the values must be within " ' "
for example:
INSERT INTO Trainee(Trainee_Id , Trainee_password , Trainee_Address, Trainee_Name , Trainee_Phone , Trainee_Gender , Trainee_SessionTime , Trainee_Purpose , Trainee_HealthStatus , Trainee_StartDate , Trainee_Birthday) VALUES (6,'333','hhhh','rafi',048231821,true,63,4,true, ('Feb 22, 2002'), ('Feb 22, 2002'))
second and more important,
a 'dummy' sql select query must be performed after an update query
example for code:
try{
DB.MainManager.getInstance().ExecuteUpdateQuery(A);
DB.MainManager.getInstance().getStatement().executeQuery("SELECT * FROM Trainee");
where A is the update query.

Can not execute 'asset year change' successfully.

Hi all,
I started run asset accounting sub-module of ECC 6.0 in 2007. After I posted depreciation on all of periods of fiscal year 2008. I change asset fiscal year to 2009 by 3 steps: First, I checked all of periods from fiscal year 2007 to fiscal year 2008 to ensure them were posted. Second, I executed "Year-end Closing" fiscal year 2007 and 2009. Third, I run "Fiscal Year Change" program to change fiscal year into 2009. But, the system responsed as below:
"Target fiscal year specifications 2009 wrong for company code MH01
Message no. AA709
Diagnosis
You have requested a fiscal year change for the year 2009.
In company code MH01, this is not the fiscal year which directly follows the current, or just completed, fiscal year.
System Response
Company code MH01 will not be processed.
Procedure
Correct your entry."
I'm very confuse. Please help me.

check t.code:ob52 and make sure that periods in 2009 has been open?
