i put in the card and it dont come up and say that it has found new hardware... i tried installing with the CD it said not found please make sure hardware is installed properly .... what do i do

Can you please check:
1. Is this a retail or OEM card? OEM cards (usually came pre-installed with your computer) may not work with drivers from the download site.
2. The sound card is not being detected by your computer at all. Please go to Device Manager and find out the status of the sound card.

DVD-Audio and "can not detect sound blaster card" with Audigy2 Va

I recently purchased an "Audigy2 Value" card from an eBay user, because I recently purchased some DVD-Audio discs. I downloaded the Audigy2 drivers from the website, and the Creative MediaSource player. 5. Surround sound worked fine for me, though sometimes the driver would reset to the default 2/2. sound and I would have to re-select 5. sound, which was annoying.
Then I was completely unable to get the MediaSource player to recognise my DVD-Audio discs, and the EAX functionality of the player would never work. The EAX logo never appeared in the player. When I tried installing the MediaSource player from an install disc, I got the message "can not detect sound blaster card". Then I discovered the world of EEPROM problems.
I followed advice from some other threads, including using ScanPCI to get information on the card, which yielded the following result.

(Just a note: above you can clearly see that it does not say I have an Audigy, it thinks it is a SBLi've. Is this normal? The card IS an Audigy 2, it says so on the card.)
So, I put the card back on my own PC, thinking this has fixed my EEPROM, but I get the same as before. Subsystem ID 0002h. And of course the install software will not detect the card.
I realise that I could go back to using the web drivers, but this still leaves me with MediaSource not recognising the card and not enabling DVD-Audio or EAX, which is why I bought the card in the first place!
I have heard that the VIA chipset is possibly to blame for the EEPROM problems on the Audigy cards, and certainly it seems like it is not permanent, since it gave different information on the other PC. So now I am seriously considering getting a new motherboard.
Do other motherboards cause this same problem? I don't want to buy another board and get the same trouble. All I want is to be able to install my MediaSource and have it recognise my card so I can listen to my DVD-Audio discs.

Figured out my problem. Installing the drivers from the web to begin with was a bad idea. They just did not work properly with the card.
The "card not found" problem has gone as well, after installing it in another PC. I am also using the proper install disc now, as the other one I was using turned out to not be for the Audigy 2 value after all, but was an Audigy 2 install disc. That easily explains the "Card not found" error. The differing results from the ScanPCI program are still bizarre, though.
Thanks to all of the people on the forum who posted information in other threads to help me deal with this issue. For now I am sticking with the original drivers from the disc and I am not upgrading.

Can't install Sound Blaster live 5.1 on Windows XP machine

Hi,
I've been using?Sound Blaster Li've! Platinum 5. on my pc running Win ME for years. I've just formatted the PC and installed Windows XP Professional on it and now when I try to install Sound Blaster from the original installation CD, I get the error "Sound blaster li've 5. is incompatible with this version of windows". It still allows me to install but then I get all sorts of errors when playing back audio files etc.
I've now?re-installed XP but obviously can't use Sound Blaster and I would really like to!
I'm a musician and not?technically minded?at all so any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Is your sound card was preinstalled or was it come in a retail box?
If it is a retail version then you get the driver and applications (Win XP Professional 64 bit) from the below link.

Still having problems, card works fine , no conflicts, onboard soundcard disabled, but can't install software, I have the same system that it has always worked fine on, only difference is I have bought Windows XP Media Edition, It's a Audigy Platinum EX. You find the ctpanel.exe from path SBA2_EAX4DRV_0303\Drivers\WDM\COMMON when you extract the installation packege to your HD, using WinRar.
You get the latest drivers for your card from station-drivers.
Extract the driver package to your HD and install drivers using CTZAPXX.EXE found on path Drivers\Support\i386.
If you download and extract these new drivers, you find the ctpanel.exe from path
- creative-audigy-5.2.06.6-win32-64-whql\Drivers\wdm\common\i386 or
- creative-audigy-xfi-5.2.02.43-2kxp-whql\wdm\common\i386
(depending on which drivers you have) when you extract the package to your HD.

Can not detect Sound Blaster Audigy 2 on this sys

Im having trouble install drivers (apart from the old CD ones and some out of date ones) all the latest drivers or beta drivers say they cannot detect my card. I have an Sound Blaster Audigy 2 OEM which i bought nearly 2 years ago. I've tried swapping it to a different pci slot but makes no different Constant crashes when playing openal games. Even if i install the lates openal file. But i need to find out why i can't install the newest drivers and why they say i haven't got an audigy 2 when i have. In my device manger even says that its an "Creative SB Audigy 2 (WDM)" My system is as follows...

I am getting the exact same problem. Just downloaded the "Creative Sound Blaster Audigy unified series Beta driver with OpenAL support 2.08.0002" for my soundcard which is an Audigy 2 OEM (Model No. SB0240).
I am using WIndows Media Center Edition 2005, but when I try to install the beta drivers, I get the following error message:
"Setup is unable to detect a supported product on your system. Please ensure that your product is properly installed before running this setup program
Setup will exit."
My Device Manager shows Creative SB Audigy 2 (WDM) with driver version as follows:
Driver Provider: Creative
Driver Date: 23/06/2004
Driver Version: 5.2..444
I am currently hearing sound fine (so the soundcard is installed correctly), but the sound keeps cutting out from games that use OpenAL.

Can't remove Sound Blaster Live! software from Control Pa

Hi,My Sound Blaster Li've 5. digial card isn't being recognised by my system and seems to be faulty. I tried removing the software but when I click on the Sound Blaster Li've! in the control panel nothing happens. I still have the Creative folder in my programs. I run Windows XP SP2. I have tried also under Safe Mode with the same result. Is there a Creative Software cleaner/uninstaller program (that doesn't look for the card first)?

Let's make this easy.
First download and install Driver Cleaner Pro; http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Uninstallers/Driver-Cleaner-Professional.shtml
Then clean out all creative and creative lite drivers then delete any folder in your system that has the name creative on it (usually find these with a quick File or Folders search in the start menu. Then download and install Crap Cleaner; http://ccleaner.com/, go a head and clean out files and do scan of the registry with ccleaner and remove unneeded reg stuff. Now reboot. One more thing, if you still see the "Device Control" icon in the control panel you must remove it's corresponding .cpl file in the "\windows%base%\system32\" folder.

ok, i've read all the posts and nothing helped. I have an audigy gamer and also audigy 2 zs plat. pro both i get the message :

Creative is horrible when it comes to support! They still haven't figured out how to solve the no card issue. Luckily, I now know how to solve it, thanks to a fellow card owner.
This is what you need to do to update your drivers for your card:
. Uninstall your current drivers
2. Shut down the PC and pull the card out and try to put it in a different pci slot. If you do not have another slot available just remove it and place it back in to the same slot making sure there is no dust in the slot first. I recommend using compressed air, although it's not necessary.
3. Your card should be recognized by the PC when starting up. Install the drivers that came with the CD.
4. Download the drivers from this site, if you need info on what exactly to download just ask and I'll try to help. You will not be able to install the drivers by clicking on the .exe file you just downloaded because it will give you that same stupid error, so on to step 5.
5. Using a program like winrar (trial version can be downloaded) extract the files from the .exe file.
6. Looking into the files you just extracted you should see a folder that says "Drivers". Click on that folder and then find the file that says "CTZAPXX.exe". After clicking on that it will start to install the updates.
This should work... it did for me. Any other audio update you want to do from now on will have to be done this way.

Can not find sound controls for Satellite A80?

Hi, Im a very new user of a satellite A80, it only 4 days old, I played a cd and couldnt find any graphic equalizer or sound controls. I did get into the Toshiba assist area, but it wouldnt allow me to change the bass and treble, can anyone help me with this.
The cd automatically plays in window media player, is there a special program already installed on the hard drive for CD's, or is window media player what I should use?

You don't say which version of Windows Media Player you have. However, there will be a Graphic Equalizer option somewhere but it may be well hidden.
I would recommend downloading the latest version from the Microsoft website.
On WMP V9 the Graphic Equalizer is accessed by clicking on a small window icon at the bottom left corner of the screen (if you hover the pointer over it is called 'Select Now Playing Options')this gives a pulldown menu on which the third item is called ENHANCEMENTS. This will expand to show the Graphic Equalizer.
You can, of course, use other software to play CDs. If you right click on the CD-ROM item in your My Computer
you will be able to set which programme you wish to use to play CDs.

Can't install drivers for Sound Blaster Live! No ctzapxx.exe file

As above, I had to reboot my system and used a disk eraser as I wanted a clean slate. So obviously I have to reinstall the drivers for diff things such as sound card, USB 2.0 card etc. Everything goes fine until I get to installing the drivers for the Sound Blaster Li've!?I inserted the disc and installed the drivers, then I restarted Windows as requested. When it loads back up it'sdetects the sound card and trys to install the driver, but it can not find the driver anywhere, not on the PC or on the CD. After looking into things I thought I would go down the approach using the ctzapxx.exe file mentioned here - <a target="_blank"]http://93.95.7.84/SRVS/CGI-BIN/WEBCGI.EXE/,/?St=4,E=000000000033636605,K=5285,Sxi=8,Answer2655 5=obj(26555)bj(26559[/url])?But for some reason this file isn't on the CD, which is what I think is stopping me from installing the drivers. the unipack download from creative will not work. first, try asking around if somebody else has the same 5. creative card as yours. the only solution for your problem is to use the installation cd that came with your creative card. I lost mine so i went to a pc repair shop and inquired if they have a copy of such cd - they normally do.
. you need to remove all the programs concerning creative from add remove programs. 2. shut down, and remove the sound card. 3. turn the pc on and let windows boot normally. install the the softwares and drivers using the cd that came with the box. 4. shut down and install the sound card 5. turn on the pc. windows will find a new hardware and will find the right drivers bec you have previously installed them. There is absolutely no need to reformat your hard dri've.

There are generic power adapters for use with old model Apple portables such as this http://eshop.macsales.com/item/NewerTech/APLPBI65W/ available online; a few of them out there may not have much of a guaranty or look like the original model.
Any new-stock look-alike would be a copy; some from Amazon affiliated stores may be OK. I have older Apple portables (G4) and had been on the look-out for spares, so I have at least two that I know work. These are harder to find in second hand or thrift stores now, and less likely to function. However, there is this support page about the original parts. While adapters such as the macsales model linked above should be OK...
Yet be sure to not get a Magsafe adapter, since the connector & power won't work. The older iBook G4 power adapter and PowerBook G4 units are fairly similar; but note the details below. A 45w adapter for early white iBook (G3) probably won't do when a later model wants at least 60w.

BA7500G + Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit + Windows 2k = no sound

Similar to the thread for Win XP, I have inherited a BA7500g speaker system, and purchased a new Sound Blaster Live! 24-bit card for my Win2k system. Cannot get the speakers to work, although the speaker test works from the BA control unit. Noticed the digital audio input cable is color coded, and I don't have the original card that matches this scheme. Could this be the problem?

I have installed a new (not used) Soundblaster Audigy SE and BA7500G speakers and I'm running XP Pro. I'm getting no sound even when I change to Digital Out only? Not sure what to do? Is this sound card not compatible with my speakers? Do I need to purchase the Digital I/O Module that Creative is currently not in stock? I can find the Digital I/O module on Ebay if need be but not sure that's the solution. Please help!

First off your operating system version is obsolete and not being updated for security issues from Apple.
OS X 10.4/10.5 need to upgrade, 10.6.8 ok still
So at least you need to upgrade to 10.6.8, and that will make your machine secure again.
However if you decide to upgrade further to 10.7 or 10.8, be forewarned your PPC based software of old is not going to work any longer. and your machine may require more RAM.

I checked out the z-5500, apprantly the optical out shouldn't be a problem, however the surround sound decoding is a problem as the Mac doesn't do it, just passes it through for decoding on a receiver via the optical out port if your Mac has one.
Use the free MacTracker to find out or when you upgrade OS X, there is a option in the System Preferences > Sound.

The Sound Blaster Live 24 bit doesn't do Dolby 5.1 according to Wikipedia. More info on it is here.

If it's able to accept optical toslink cable from the Mac's toslink stereo mini port (if it has optical output) and then send that to the z-5500 via the analog speakers, then you should be fine.
I'm afraid you'll have to do some more digging to get it to work.
The only surround sound your going to get is by playing DVD movies that have it, then it can't have Dolby 5.1 as the Live 24 bit can't decode it.
So do your research on what surround sound formats the Live 24 can decode, then compare your DVD collection for those movies that have it, then get it all connected and enable it on the movie preferences at the menu.
