Can not "fully install" Quick Time on Windows Media Edition

My HP Pavillion 8000, operating on Windows Media Center, came preloaded with i tunes and Quick Time. I was initially able to use ArcSoft's multimedia e-mail program (also preloaded) and the SAVE AS feature of this program and save e-mails in Quick Time's (.mov) format (the other option is to save in the (.exe) format, which is NOT deliverable by hotmail - another sad story...)After a while, without me doing anything specific, this feature QUIT WORKING. Every time I try to save as "Quick Time (.mov) format" I get an error message stating: "you must first fully install Quick Time before you are able to perform this action". I thought upgrating to Pro might solve this problem, it did not, total waste of money. I uninstalled and reinstalled both Quick Time and Arc Soft's Multimedia e-mail, no luck. I cleaned out my registry (based on advise in this forum), and re-installed, no luck. Any suggestions? If not for the specific problem, any other good multimedia e-mail package that can save in formats deliverable by hotmail?

Thank you very much Jacumba, but I have managed to get it installed now, I do not know what really happened but all is well now..  Thank you again for taking the time to want to help me out.  Have great day!

  • How do I play videos on my new mac that wont show in Quick Time?  windows media player

I just got a new imca - switching from a pc.  When I receive attachments etc that are not formatted for Quick Time, I can not open and play the video.  IS there some other software that I need onmy new Mac that will allow this?  Or is there some other configuration to the Mac's current configuration that I should be using?

First read this: Adding additional media format support to Quicktime:
    http://support.apple.com/kb/HT3526
Download and install (or re-install even if you already had them) the latest versions, suitable for your flavor of Mac, of:
    RealPlayer SP for Mac from:
    http://www.real.com/realplayer/mac
Flip4Mac WMV Player from  http://www.telestream.net/flip4mac-wmv/overview.htm  (Windows Media Player for the Mac is no longer supported, even by Microsoft)
    Perian from  http://perian.org/
You should read this support page  http://perian.org/#support   in case you need to delete older codecs.  In Macintosh HD/Library/Quicktime/ delete any files relating to DivX (Perian already has them), particularly any DivX extension to Safari. However it should be noted that Perian is not an internet plugin and will not play DivX files imbedded on a website. For that you will need the DivX Player browser plugin available from  http://www.divx.com/en/software/mac/player

every time I try to install the install shield wizard goes all the way to the end like it's install and then says "The wizard was interrupted before Quick Time could be completely installed. .... The system has not been modified. To install this program at a later time run the installation again.
    any ideas most appricated.

    hiya!
"The wizard was interrupted before Quick Time could be completely installed. .... The system has not been modified. To install this program at a later time run the installation again.
    for that one, first see:
iTunes for Windows installation quits with 1607 error, while publishing product information, or is interrupted
(although the article is about an itunes installation error, the same underlying cause(s) is/are afoot with your QT version of this error message.)

  • Can not export to Quick time

    Hello Apple Geek
I have a little minor problem that bugger me...I have edited a movie in iMovie and try to export it to Quick Time and I can't. It said an error occured -50
I have 2 Quick Time version on my Mac version 7 and 10. The reason for the export is that I just acquired an Adobe software for professional film editing and it seems to read only Quick Time but not iMovies. I have only one Quick Time movie in my video library that's how I realised this. Any way you could help on this matter would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you for all your help.

I fixed the problem.. but it was very, very strange. I had a very long section for credits and set the line spacing to 1.0.. for some reason this caused it. I removed it, and it worked fine. I put it back, and I couldn't preview or play the video.
I don't know why that could cause that big of a problem, but it did..

  • I can not record in quick time

Hello I up graded my computer to Quick time pro and when I hit the record new movie a pop up comes on the screen and says can not find a recording device make sure it is pluged in and not in use. My camera is plugged in and not in use. How do I record directly into quick time from my camera?

    Let's try this.
With my JVC mini DV camcorder I have to put the camcorder into play mode then push the play button on the camcorder to play the movie in the camcorder.
Then prompt QT to recognize the movie [new movie].
p.s. Is your camera a camcorder or a digital still camera? My post is responding as if you have a camcorder, but it may work with a still camera that is playing a QT movie that was made with the camera.
If all this doesn't work then perhaps the previous poster is correct in your camera may be too old and records in a format not recognized by QT.

  • Re install on XP PRO Windows Media Edition. SR2023WM

My motherboard died. I replaced it with a HP Compaq motherboard with a Dual Core CPU. I thought that I might as well upgrade since I had to get a new motherboard . The first time it was turned on, it booted up, loaded Windows and went to my Desk Top, no problem. Later in the day I thought I would do a reinstall. I used my Recovery Disks, it looked as though it was working as I was watching the Monitor. When it came time to put my second disk in, CD drive opened and screen said place the second recovery disk in. When it all was loaded, the monitor said to wait while Windows were getting ready to load. Then it looked like Windows was going to open and I get a error message, CODE PURPLE.  I could not get into safe mode. I could get into the BIOS for a time or two as I was trying to figure out what was going on. Now all I see is NO SIGNAL on the Monitor. The fan on the CPU starts out running too fast, but never slows down. I have no power to my USB Ports. I was going to upgrade the old PC to give to my Son. He did purchase the motherboard, for about $85.00. Any one have any suggestions? We live in a rural part of the Country, so I can't just take it to HP. I have educated my self, as best I could, and it seems to happen a lot.
                                              Thanks,
                                                          David Sharpe

Code Purple is the warning that Recovery Disks do not match the motherboard.Recovery will not install on a different motherboard. Only option is to find which model the motherboard came from and you may be able to find a Recovery set for it Or, purchase a retail Windows XP cd.

    Hi Tamekia,
I am sorry to hear nothing has worked yet. I have looked up some additional information and possible solutions. Follow the steps in this document to perform a level-three uninstall, register the Windows Installer Service, and then reinstall the HP software. An uninstall and reinstall of the software deletes and overwrites any of the files that might cause the error and resets the Windows Installer. HP recommends that you download the latest software from the HP Web site to remove any files that might be causing this error.
Level-three uninstall, and register the Windows Installer Service
Note: The title of this document is not specific to the issue you are experiencing or the operating system you have, but the 3 steps and instructions are what I suggest we do to resolve the issue you are experiencing.
    Hope this helps.

  • After installing Maverick, my downloaded movies will not play in Quick Time.  It gives me the following error "You can't open the application "QuickTime Player.app" because it may be damaged or incomplete."  What can I do?

After installing Maverick, my downloaded movies will not play in Quick Time.  I receive the following error message:
You can’t open the application “QuickTime Player.app” because it may be damaged or incomplete.  So I tried to unistall QT and I get an error that says, You can not delete this application as it is a requirement for the OSX.
Well I did find a way to delete it, by going into the various components and one by one deleting it.  Now I reinstall it and  the message is that this Quick Time is for an earlier version before Maverick 7.  SMH....Now what.?

    Hello, terrygav.
I would recommend processing a reinstall of Mavericks.
OS X Mavericks: Reinstall OS X

Make sure to backup all of your data prior to reinstalling OS X 10.9.

  • Can't install Quick Time (VBScript error)

I recently got a new computer and I have a kodak digital camera that also records small videos. I installed the kodak software and I tried to play a video it told me I needed to install Quick Time, so I tried to download it and when it was finished downloading I got the following message. "ITunes could not be installed because Visual Basic Script in not installed or has been disabled. Make sure VBScript is installed, turn off script blocking in anti-virus and personal firewall software, re-register VBScript and then install ITunes"
Could someone help me, I have no clue how to fix the problem.

  • Rotate movie feature not showing up after installing quick time pro key

I installed Quick Time 7 Player for Windows and then entered my Quick Time 7 Pro registration code. When I open a movie, recorded on a Sony Cyber Shot camera, movie editing features are not showing up. I need to rotate my movies 90 degrees and that was the sole purpose of purchasing the pro addition.
After reading through pages of on-line support resourses and endless calls for technical support (and receiving none), I am still unable to figure out what's going on. Any ideas? Thank you for your help and insights in advance.

Sounds like you are trying to edit muxed mpeg files, the editing of which QT PRO does not support. It also will not export the sound from such files. If they are mpeg-1 you can use Mpeg StreamClip to edit or export them. If they are mpeg-2 you would first need to buy the mpeg2playbackcomponent. With that component installed mpegstreamclip will also edit mpeg2 files.

  • Cannot install Quick time 7 on Windows

hi everyone. I am having a hard time installaing quick time version 7 on my windows XP SP2.
Installer kicks off and after 5 seconds, I get messange "another process is running. terminate" or something like that. I am not running any other processes. I even went through MSCONFIG and checked off all third party processes but get the same result.
I could install Quick time version 6.1. without issues though. Because I cannot install quick time, I cannot install iTunes. I cannot use iPod without the iTunes!!! Can somebody please help me out here?
I tried the latest version 7.6 and also tried 7.2 but nothing works. only 6.1 could be installed on my PC.

For what it's worth, at the point the installation fails, Bonjour, Apple Application Support, and Apple Mobile Device Support all show as installed on Control Panel. Apple Software Update has a link on the Start Menu but does NOT show as installed on Control Panel. Is there a way to install this separately from iTunes?

    any suggestions please??????

Unfortunately, this sort of trouble has gotten more complicated to deal with ever since Microsoft pulled the Windows Installer CleanUp utility from their Download Center on June 25. First we have to find a copy of the utility.
Let's try Googling. (Best not to use Bing, I think.) Look for a working download site for at least version 3.0 of the Windows Installer CleanUp utility. After downloading the utility installer file (msicuu2.exe), scan the file for malware, just in case. (I use the free version of Malwarebytes AntiMalware to do single-file scans for that.)
If the file is clean, to install the utility, doubleclick the msicuu2.exe file you've downloaded.
Now run the utility ("Start > All Programs > Windows Install Clean Up"). In the list of programs that appears in CleanUp, select any QuickTime entries and click "Remove".
Quit out of CleanUp, restart the PC and try installing QuickTime again. Does the install go through properly now?
(If you do find a clean download site for the correct version of CleanUp, please don't tell me where it is. Without wishing to sound paranoid (although I grant it does sound paranoid), there is a non-zero chance that posting links to download locations for the utility here at Discussions leads to that download location being shut down.)

  • Itunes will not play movies... To play this movie install quick time

I downloaded itunes on a new computer and it won't play movies.  It keeps giving me the error "This movie requires Quick Time which is not included in this version of itunes.  To play this movie install quick time."  I've installed Quick Time, uninstalled it, installed it again, tried a change and repair trick that I read about but nothing has worked...please anybody help.

Okay ... that's left the field a bit open.
Can you check something for me please? I'd like to try doing a "Run as administrator" on your iTunes.
    Quit iTunes first.
In Computer, open Local Disk C: or whichever drive you have your program files installed on.
    Open the "Program files" folder.
    Open the "iTunes" folder.
Right-click on the iTunes.exe file and select "run as administrator".
Try playing the movie now. Does it play for you without the message?

  • I am not able to install quick time after i deleted it accidentaly

I am not able to install quick time, after when i deleted it accidentaly. Actually it was installing but i am not able to see the icon in applications

For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
The section Install missing components has advice on breaking down the iTunes installer into the individual .msi files which might prove useful it won't install normally.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.
