Can NOT get mozilla fire fox browser to close
I am changing over to Google Chrome and I went into my control Panel to delete Mozilla Fire Fox Browser and it Says that I must close the browser first. I HAVE IT CLOSED . I am trying to change browsers because My Adobe Flash Player CRASHED and I can NOT update the new plug-in because it gets 50% loaded and it stops and asks me to close Mozilla Fire Fox first . BUT the browser is NOT even OPEN... I am Logged into Google Chrome trying to update my Adobe Flash Player and IT SAYS please close Mozilla Fire FOX .. So I went into CONTROL PANEL and I can NOT even remove the browser!!!! Someone please HELP...How is it That this browser is running YET i do NOT even have it OPEN??????
Well, I can try to do one of several things here:
1. Help you fix Firefox and update your adobe flash.
or
2. Help you uninstall Firefox.
Let's do #1 first.
* Open the task manager (it appears you are actually using Windows XP?). Just use Ctrl+Alt+Delete.
* Now go to the processes tab, and find "firefox.exe" (without the quotes), Select it, then click "End Process".
* Or, if you want to, just restart your PC (this should always fix the problem of Firefox saying it's open when it isn't)
* Download Adobe Flash from [http://fpdownload.macromedia.com/pub/flashplayer/current/licensing/win/install_flash_player_11_plugin_32bit.exe here]. Run it.
* Start Firefox back up. It seems that the most likely reason for you having firefox.exe hang at shutdown is a bad extension, so you can try [[Safe Mode|Safe Mode]] to diagnose if you have more problems.
Ok, to just uninstall Firefox, let's do this:

i have the same problem with the above..firefox is running too slow with the games in facebook..but it runs good when browsing my updates, msgs, photos...firefox is totally opposite of IE..IE is faster with the games and slow while browsing..i love to use mozila but when i do games it really pisses me off...hope you could help me..

I believe this budget "Nextbook Premium7" has the 1GHz Rockchip RK2918 cpu which is a ARM Cortex-A8 so it implements the ARM v7 instruction set architecture. Also has 512mb RAM. As a result you may likely be able to run mobile Firefox.
It does not have Google Android Market so you would have to install and update mobile Firefox manually.

To open task manager & end task/process

3. Select the Processes Tab
4. Locate & click on firefox.exe & click the end process button on bottom right. If you get a message saying the program is not responding, simply select end now when prompted.
5. Click on Firefox icon on desktop to open Firefox and it should be fine.

And how are you spawning the php instances? I don't see that in the daemons array anywhere.
EDIT: It looks like the info in that page is no longer using pre-spawned instances, but lighttpd adaptive-spawn. The documentation has been made inconsistent it looks like.
You will note that with pre-spawned information, the config looks different[1].
You need to do one or the other, not both (eg. choose adaptive-spawn, or pre-spawn..not both).

Can not make FF my default browser...When asked to make, I get "Your computer must be restarted to complete a previous upgrade of FF". After restart, it's the same thing all over again. I have explorer & chrome installed on my PC.

More thorough would be to right-click on the "firefox.exec" and choose "End Process Tree".
You would find firefox.exe in a Mozilla folder in your program files, but y0u would not want to delete it there, you would need to use the Control Panel which you have already identified and do it from there -- but generally you would not need to do that, and there is nothing in what you have posted to indicate that you should. But if you did do that, then don't let the install start Firefox for you as you would want to use you existing desktop icon or method of starting Firefox, and should decline having Firefox install start Firefox for you. When the install starts then invoke Firefox in your normal manner. This should eliminate problems of creating a new profile rather than using your old profile. -

the bookmarks toolbar is blank, it can be turned on or off, but the bookmarks, which are in the toolbar folder when I view all my bookmarks, don't appear in the toolbar. This is when using windows xp. When using windows 7 at home, it works fine. thanks. -

I have the Sony Erickson Experia X10 phone with Android 2.6 running on it. My phone is listed in the compatible phones list, but I can not get it to locate the app, nor can I get it to download. I have tried from the browser, the market app and even android.com's site. I can find the mobile app on the android.com market site (via my laptop) but it insists that it is not compatible with my phone. I love my FF and want the continuity this would provide. Please help!!
There is no version 2.6 of Android. If you are using Android 1.6, then you will need to update your phone to Android 2.0 or later before you can install Firefox.
To check which version of Android you have, open the "Settings" app, then choose "About phone" and look for "Android version."
