Can not get on-lin with pppoe

i've set up ax with both admin utility and setup asst. to use pppoe... i still can not get on-line... it keeps looking for pppoe...
there is no place to input a password for the pppoe account. wondering if this is the cause of no connection to the internet...
mac's networking is set to airport using dhcp...
is this the right set up?

after the account name input there is button "Change password..." is this account passward function or is this the ax password change function... a little bit confusing.
still not working will try turning everything off for the 20th time...

Whoa, slow down. It's hard to understand exactly what's going on when you've explained your issue so unclearly.
Please describe exactly what network setup you have at the moment - you have Verizon DSL? What router are you using, are you wired or wireless, how is the Macbook connected to the network, how are your other computer(s) connected to the network? Let's take it step by step and I'm sure we can find out what's going on.

Can not get an ip from pppoe server

i have this problem with linksys WRT54GL it's can not get ip from server but the problem with with the router not the isp coz i used another router WRT54S it's work great,
i'm using the last update for WRTS54GL V1.1 (4.30.14).
THE PROBLEM FROM ROUTER I THING FROM THE SOFTWARE
IS THERE ANY SOLUTION FOR THIS ???

first the modem work as bridge
the router can not connect to the server
in status page the error is "can not get an ip from pppoe server" when i used the WRT54GL
if i used other router (WRT54GS) it's connect and get ip and DNS on the status page
the user and password is correct .
the router(WRT54GL) work when i used DHCP but not connect when i used PPPOE protocol
1.WORKING modem(bridge)------>router (WRT54GS)PPPOE----------> Router (WRT54GL)DHCP-------> PC
2.WORKING modem(bridge)------>router (WRT54GS)PPPOE-------> PC
3.NOT WORK modem(bridge)------>Router (WRT54GL)PPPOE-------> PC
i need the third scenario.
i think the problem with the router not with the configuration.

For 1. try disabling your antivirus.
For 2. & 3. you need to go somewhere other than an apple forum for help. Although you can try deleting lines containing gs.apple.com from your "hosts" file on your computer.

Can't get on-line with Airport Extreem

Hi all,
this is my first post on this forum. I have tried to set-up a wired network using Airport Extreme between a Mac Mini and a G5 1.8 Dual. I was able to see each computer over the network but I could not get internet access.
I tried the unplug every thing route but that did not help. I am hooked up to the internet through a cable modem and can get to the internet without using the Airport Extreme going straight to the ethernet connection on the back of the computers.
What am I doing wrong?

Black screen - can not get in touch with my Ipod Nano

I have an Ipod Nano, latest model. After a short time the monitor shuts down and turns black / standby, can ths be disable?
I use my Nano with the Nike Ipod censor when I run, and it is diffical to get in touch with my Ipod Nano, when the screen after a short time have been black.
Should I see my runningdata or to stop the censor when I'm finishs running, and press the screen nothing happens.
Press I on / off button, so either I get a voice that tells a lot about my run, or push me 2 times on / off button toggles track.
If I press the + or -, I change the volume.
Keeps press on / off button, turn off my Ipod Nano and all my recording of my run is lost ...

I updated to Firefox 4 and it will not work so I can not get on line and it replaced the old firefox so I also lost all my bookmarks. I need them back. How do I get them?

I have a Mc g5 with the 10.4.11 operating system. Your site is my home page and it kept bugging me to update to the firefox 4. So I did now when I try to get on it tells me that that "I can not open this application because it is not supported on this system". It replaced the old firefox that I had so I can not open that. I have no way to get to my book marks and I need them. Let me know how to get back to my old firefox and book marks.

I have stated my problem as clearly as I know how-can not access Mozilla Firefox to the internet or my e mail

While it is true that some things on the internet cannot be done without having the specifically required hardware/software, usually one finds that everything works, although sometimes more slowly. "Not supported" can mean anything from "true doesn't work" to "may work but we have not tested it and therefore say 'not supported'" to the tech is clueless and just tells you "not supported"!!
Most likely, you have not set various internet-related control panels correctly, or maybe all the necessary control panels and extensions didn't get installed (especially if one did a custom installation instead of easy install.) Double check all your settings, as sometimes a stray character or space can upset things.
Are you using a dial-up or a broadband (cable, dsl) connection, as the settings have to be tweaked differently for each?
While an Apple-friendly ISP should not be required, having one is certainly a joy. Go visit www.themacisp.com or www.macdialup.com for a couple which do a good job and have great tech support, or google for others.

It shows expected locale name but I don't find any el_GR related files in lib\ext\localedata.jar.
I think maybe I still not find the correct locale supported files.
Could you please tell me where can I find how many locales are avilable in my JRE?

I can not get the line guides to display in the viewport in firebug

When I choose it from the web developer toolbar the feature comes down but no lines on the screen if I hit the add a vertical or horizontal line nothing happens and I tried to reset it under the "options" menu and and that didn't work ??? What gives ???

The reason for this is because there was a security breach at Comodo which is an SSL certificate provider recently whereby a number of fraudulent certificates were inadvertently issued. These allow a hacker to impersonate any site including online banking and the Firefox version you're running at the moment will not warn you that the site is a fake. The fraudulent certificates were blacklisted in v3.6.17 and beyond.
Next, go to Tools | Add-ons | Extensions and remove '''SearchToolbar/1.2'''. This is Adware and will affect Firefox performance.
Also, in the same menu, remove "'''Zugo Toolbar'''" which falls into the same category.
