a app on my apple acct that is not mine & I can not get rid of it

As you didn't answer the question we have to assume that someone else loaded that app onto your machine.   If that is the case they will have to tell you what ID details they used to do that.   By using those same details you can update it if necessary.
But it would appear you want to be rid of it and while you can remove the app itself from your machine by deleting it, you can't remove its trace from your purchase records.   I believe that would apply even if you edited your appleID and chose another one.   Future downloads could be made and updates accessed by the new account but the old records would remain.

This should help you empty what's currently in the trash, but is no guarantee you got everything related to MacKiller off the drive. See Ogelthorpe's link.

Sorry, I misunderstood. Apple calls it "the From pop-up menu" — see under Set the From address in this Apple doc:
    Mail (Mavericks): Address messages
...Presumably if follow the instructions there and set "Send new messages from" to the address you want, you won't then need to click on the "From pop-up menu" and see the incorrect address.
Perhaps someone else here knows how to remove the incorrect address completely — or try clicking on "Manage your Apple ID" here:

  • How can I get rid of cache files?

Premiere Pro, can't find cache files on Mac, not in the common folder, clean doesn't work, I know there are Gigs of them on my drive.  How can I get rid of them?
I started a premiere project I had worked on before using an external drive but forgot to hook up the external drive.  In a few minutes, Premiere loaded 5 gigs of cache files onto my macbook pro drive OSX 10.8.6.  I tried the following to free up the space:
Tried to "clean" the cache folder before switch it to the external drive - this only removed a small amount of the 5 gigs created
Tried to find files in the Application Support/Adobe/common folder - no cache files found
Tried searching the web for answers - no new info
Tried searching my drive for the files - can't find them
Tried restarting the MacBook and Premiere with and without the external drive - no luck
    Now what?

Reason: please make a shorter and more concise title next time. Thanks.

First off, exactly which version of Premiere are you running? Not simply PPro CC or CC2014 but the version number shown in the About box.
I'm not clear whether you're saying that Premiere can't find the cache files or that you can't find them.
I gather that you're referring to the Clean button on the Media tab of the Preferences dialog, which is also where you set the path for the cache files.
Are you sure you're looking in the correct Library--not the one that's readily accessible under Macintosh HD but the one that Apple, in it's infinite wisdom, hides from users. To access it, open the Go menu and press Option.

  • Have a problem on my IMac that a screen has come up titled text edit  and can not get rid of it using OSX I believe  10.7.5

Can not exit text edit screen when i click on the apple does not give me the option of shuting down or restart just can't get rid of it. have no clue what brought this screen up never seen it before.

If it is the application, Text Edit is a basic word processing app which is in your Applications folder. In order to force quit, you need to hold down three keys at the same time (there is no drop down/force quit):
Command + Option + esc (at the top left of your keyboard). That will bring up this window:
If an application is not responding, it may show "not responding" next to its name (or sometimes not). In any case, hit the Force Quit button and it should quit. If that does not work, shut down your Mac and boot it up again.

  • Can not get rid of cannot verify server identity pop up, how can i get rid of it for 3rd gerneration ipad?

how can I get rid of cannot verify server identity pop up on my new 3rd generation ipad?

A [http://www.google.com/search?q=Brookwood+Internist+Birmingham&ie=utf-8&oe=utf-8&aq=t&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official&client=firefox-a Google search] shows the website, but it still doesn't load - it shows the Go-Daddy '''Want to buy this domain?''' page.
Using a DNS Lookup for that domain - http://68.178.232.100/ doesn't load that web site either. It shows '''This site is not currently available.'''
Might be a server problem where that website is hosted, a DNS problem, or an expired domain name ''(but when that happens the message is usually '''expired registration''')''.
Call your doctors office Monday morning and tell them that their website won't load. It's something that their webmaster needs to look into, along with their web hosting service ''(which I guess is Go-Daddy)''.

  • I have dead time after a transition on one of my slides and I can not get rid of it

I have a transition between slides and then once the transition occurs, there is dead blank space for 5 seconds and then the next slide comes in.  I have tried everything to get rid of the dead space but I can not seem to resolve the issue.  Anyone have any thoughts?
    Thanks,
    C

All of my transitions occur in the build inspector.  None of them have been incorporated in to the slide inspector.  My text moves in at a duration of 1.5 sec and then moves out at the same duration.  And that is it.  No delay on builds on the next slide.  All of the slides are set up the same way.  And I am working off of two monitors and there is a space that shows the next slide and it is completely blank, but I don't have a blank slide in the presentation.  Thanks for any help you might have.

  • Can not get rid of the terminal

I have a G3 Wallstreet and for the last two days when I try to start it up it open up with the Terminal.
I had a program called "AppleJack" and meant to get rid of it but forgot, I have try Zaping the PRAM, Safe Startup, starting it up with a bootable DiskWarrior and even with OS 10.2.
I have the drive Partition with the first 10 Gb for OS 10.2.8 and the rest for OS 0 9.2.2. it has been working just fine up to now.
This "AppleJack" program when it runs starts up in the terminal and runs some stuff like repair the permission and stuff like that, I run it thought all it is suppose to do and it will not shut down when I am told to restart.
Can someone please help me as I use the laptop when I am bedridden.
Thank you for your time and trouble.

    Norbert,
I do not envy your condition, but I imagine there are few at your age that would even attempt what you are trying to fix, so congratulations and let's see if we can fix the ole girl.
I would like to correct a word I used incorrectly earlier. When you describe your HD, you use the word 'space', not 'room', as I did, so you have about 3GB of free space available. If there is not enough free space for an A&I, the installer will not allow you to proceed. Also, this is a major operation on the HD and it is always wise to have important files backed up...you never know when something might go wrong. I am not suggesting that this procedure will result in lost data, but it is better to be safe than sorry. There is an old saying that files not backed up are files you don't want.
One of several limitations of the Wallstreet is its lack of USB and FireWire ports, thus making it more difficult to back up data. Do you have any procedure for backing up? If so, you can boot to your OS 9.x, find the files you want on the OSX partition, then drag-copy them to another volume; you can do this with OSX data files just like OS 9.x. You may have to boot to your OS 9.x CD, select OS 9.x in the Startup Disk control panel, then restart to your OS 9.x partition.
These are the steps to follow for an Archive & Install, from this tech article:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=107120
    1. Start up from your Mac OS X Install Disc 1. (I deleted the unnecessary part.)
    2. Select your language. The Welcome to the Mac OS X Installer window appears.
    3. Click Continue. The Important Information window appears.
    4. After reading or printing the information, click Continue. The Software License Agreement window appears.
    5. After reading or printing the information, click Continue.
    6. An agreement sheet appears. If you agree with the license agreement, click Agree. The Select a Destination window appears.
    7. Click the volume that you wish to install to.
    8. Click Options. The installation options sheet appears.
    9. Select Archive and Install.
    10. Select the volume which already has Mac OS X installed.
    11. You should also select Preserve Users and Network Settings, to preserve network and Home directory settings. (See notes and Related documents below.)
    12. Click OK.
    13. Click Continue to begin the installation.
The above tech article also mentions this:
-Some third-party software items may not be preserved. If third-party software doesn't work after the Archive and Install is performed, reinstall it or contact the vendor.
-Safari may not work after an A&I (and this may apply to other software also). It should work after updating to 10.2.8 again.

  • Can't get rid of update notice box

Today, there is a box in the upper right-hand corner of my screen telling me that updates are ready to install.  I do not want to update anything, but there is no option to delete this box, close it, ignore it, etc.  The only options are:  "Restart" (which will automatically install the updates) or "Later", which offers a number of options, but not "Never".
How do I get rid of this box, and how do I stop these updates (which apparently have downloaded themselves onto my computer without asking me) from proceeding?
    Thanks

It was one of the last two Security Updates.
To stop the pop-up, Go to System Preferences: Security. Check the box next to "Require password to unlock each secure system preference." Then lock Security.
    Thanks to K.S.
I came across this thread which has what seems like a reasonable explanation:

  • With latest download, I specifically excluded yahoo as default search engine. It loaded anyway and I can not get rid of it and restore Google as default search engine

I had Google as default search engine. Now, Yahoo shows up and even when I delete it, close firefox 8.0, restart it, Yahoo again rears its ugly head. Nothing seems to fix this. Any program I install that is tied in to Yahoo, I specifically exclude the installation of the Yahoo tool bar. How do I get rid of it once and for all?

    1. Use  free  AdwareMedic by clicking “Download ” from here
        http://www.adwaremedic.com/index.php
Install , open,  and run it by clicking “Scan for Adware” button   to remove adware.
Once done, quit AdwareMedic by clicking AdwareMedic in the menu bar and selecting
        “Quit AdwareMedic”.
    2. Safari > Preferences > Extensions
Turn those off and relaunch Safari to test .
Turn those on one by one and test.
    3. Safari > Preferences >  Search > Search Engine :
        Select your preferred   search engine.

  • I am getting a pop up that I can not get rid of when I use Fire Fox only on one of my desk top computers. "Browser Setting Change" "Keep my current settings"

I have contacted Verizon support and Norton Support. They have tried different changes to the computer setup, but none have solved the problem. I have three identical computers, HP, running under VISTA, with Fire Fox brower. All three have additional memory and a 1 TB hard drive added. Two of my computers do not get the POPUP. On the one computer that gets the POPUP, I am able to close the POPUP by going to the bottom of my screen and right click on the bar and closing the POPUP. None of the options within the POPUP (YES) or (X) are functional.

  • I deleted my old Email account because I wanted to create a new one, and I did. However, when ever I send an Email from the Mail app on my laptop it says the Email was sent from my old Email and I just can not get rid of it.

I deleted my old Email and only used my new Email to set up the Mail app on my laptop. And the old Email is completely dead, hotmail.com says the Email no longer excists when I try to sign back in to it however my Emails remain saying 'Sent from Jordan [*old Email*].
    I can't find a solution!!

If you are unable to remember your password, security questions, don’t have access to your rescue address or are unable to reset your password for whatever reason, your only option is to contact AppleCare(or Apple ID Support), upon speaking to an operator you should explain that your problem is related to your Apple ID, this way you will not be charged for assistance, even if you don’t have an AppleCare plan.
The operator will take you through some steps you may have already tried, however they need to be sure they have exhausted all usual approaches before trying to reset your account, so you should try to be helpful and show patience with the procedure.
The operator will need to verify they are speaking to the account holder and may ask you some questions that only the account holder could know, and you will need to answer them if the process is to proceed.
Once the operator has verified your identity they will send a message through to your device which contains an alpha numeric code, which you will need to read back to them.
Once this has been completed they will send an email to your iCloud email address after a period of 24 hours, so you should check that mail is enabled in your devices iCloud settings.
Upon receipt of the email, use the reset link provided to reset your password, after which you should be able to make the adjustments to iCloud that you wish to do.
