I just got a new iPhone and wanted to back up my old iPhone to my computer one more time before switching over...Two hours later I still can not get iTunes to open. I have two different acounts on my computer, iTunes will load on the secondary account, but not my main account. I logged into iTunes on that account and now have issues with libraries, and overriding and synching and deleting, and a million other messages that made me nervous about backing up my phone through the secondary account. I just want to get iTunes to work on my main account. I have tried several different things, and am getting incredibly frustrated. The file that I'm have issues with in itunes is the file called iTunes Libary.itl.
So just to get itunes to open I had to delete that file and then sync all of my music back into itunesday, is there anyway so I do not have to keep doing that?

A little more information would be helpful.
What version of Pages are you using? The latest is 4.1 with the update released on July 20. In Snow Leopard 10.6.8 you need at least Pages 4.0.5. If you're not running the latest versions & Software Update says your software is up to date, make sure the applications are where the installer initially put them. The updaters are very picky. If the location is not where the updater is programmed to look or if the folder doesn't have the name the updater looks for, it will not work. The applications cannot be renamed or moved. They must be in the iWork '09 folder in Applications. That iWork folder must be named iWork '09. If it doesn't have the '09 Software Update won't find them & the updaters won't work.
If you are running at least Pages 4.0.5 & haven't made any other changes to your Mac since Pages was last working correctly, the likely culprit is corrupt preferences. Go to HD > Users > (your account) > Library > Preferences & delete the com.apple.iwork.pages.plst & restart Pages.

If it's showing the red disabled screen then you will need to connect it to the computer that you normally sync to and you should then be able to reset the iPad and restore/re-sync your content to it (http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1212) - you may need to put the iPad into recovery mode : http://support.apple.com/kb/ht1808
If you do it via a different computer then :
If you restore on a different computer that was never synced with the device, you will be able to unlock the device for use and remove the passcode, but your data will not be present.

I synced pictures from my sons computer onto my iphone4 now I can not get them off my phone to save on my computer or delete them off the phone. Any ideas?

Do you sync your iPhone to your own computer? I ask because an i-device can be fully synced to only one computer. Therefore, if you normally sync your iPhone to your own computer, syncing to your son's computer just to get some pictures onto your phone probably bollixed things a bit. (And was unnecessary to do just to get pictures onto the phone.)
Regardless, you should be able to delete individual or small groups of pictures from your iPhone from within the Photos app. Select your Camera Roll, tap the "share" icon in the upper-right corner, select the pictures you want to delete, then tap the DELETE button in the buttom-right.
Getting those pictures from your iPhone to your own computer should work using the same process you've used in the past to get pictures from your iPhone to your computer. The only caveat is that your iPhone might have been paired with your son's computer when you synced it there, so you might need to re-pair it to your own computer first. You should be asked if you want to do this when you connect your iPhone to your computer using the USB cable.
You can also easily share pictures from your iPhone to any device (desktop computer or otherwise) with a standard web browser using this app or one like it:

When I close firefox it doesn't really close it seems to be hidden. Then when I try to start it again I have to Alt, Ctrl, Del, go to process , turn it off then hit it to start again. I can not get it to open in the hidden process that it is in

Apparently when I close Firefox it doesn't really close. I get told when I try to open Firefox later "Firefox is still open, you must close Firefox, Then reopen it. Then I hit Alt, Ctrl & Del, go to process's then I have to close it then reopen it. It does not open until it is closed in process's.

The process can take a few seconds to close. Sometimes you need to use Task Manager.

I can not get Iphoto to open

I've tried three times to open Iphoto 4.0.3 and all I get is the spinning rainbow ball. It goes for ever and fianlly I have to force a re-boot as everything done.
I've copied all my photos to a cd and dumped all the folders I created in Iphoto. I tried to start up the application again after I deleted these files and it still will not open.
What can I do?

Do you have a copy of your full iPhoto Library folder? How did you copy the photos to the CD and exactly what folders did you dump? Also how much free space do you have on your HD?

Try uninstalling and reinstalling it
Go into the control panel and 'add/remove programs'. Uninstall itunes then redownload it and reinstall it.
If something got really messed up you may just need to start fresh. But it won't affect your content, at least that hasn't been my experience. I've reinstalled iTunes and haven't had to redownload apps, so ti's just the interface you're reinstalling.

I didn't try it in safe mode, but I restarted the computer probably 20 times, and no luck, so I finally un-installed it, and re-installed it, and it works fine now.
