Can not hear audio for tv episode

I have iTunes 8.0 and it was working fine, but I bought a tv episode today and when I go to play it i can't hear any sound. I can hear my other tv shows but this one episode does not work.
any ideas on to what could be the problem

With iTunes open, select the TV episode you purchased, then on your keyboard press Command + I. That will prompt the Get Info window. Click the Options tab and use the Volume slider to adjust the audio/equalizer. Click OK to close the window. See if that helps...
Also, if you are viewing the TV episode directly in the iTunes window, make sure you have the volume slider located top left in that window to the right.
Make sure the volume is set correctly on your MacBook or iMac... controls on your keyboard... typically the F1 and F2 keys.

    Anybody know how to fix the audio while watching movies on first generation apple tv? On my apple tv, I can hear audio for music, music videos, youtube, internet radio and even movie previews! But..... when I pay for the rental download of a movie there is no audio - just visuals. I am connecting with hdmi. When I connect an apple tv 2nd generation to the same amp and tv, using same hdmi and even same power lead and same settings then there is no problem!     I would suspect that it have to do with surround 5.1 settings
    if you don't have such a speaker setup but have turned it on in appletv settings
    the audio would likely be playing in the speakers you don't have
    rather then the tv's speakers
    your own material is likely not 5.1 surround but stereo
    so there you dont get the problem

    as the title, i installed Captivate and use Text to speech features. after editing the slide and converting the transcript into audio, i click the play button at the bottom of timeline, i hear nothing. but when its produced, the audio works......

    Is the Audio not muted, as in this screenshot? Often one overlooks the most obvious things.

  • When I enter video in timeline, does not show on monitor.  when I play video, can only hear audio.

    So within the past couple of days, when I load video into the timeline it does not come up on screen.  When I play video, I can only hear audio.  If I click on monitor, I get still frame of video.  Also received window saying we have detected an incompatible display driver.  Not sure why this has happened all of a sudden....

    Does your Premiere Elements 10 run on a computer with a NVIDIA GeForce video card? If so, which specific NVIDIA GeForce card? If your computer is not using a NVIDIA GeForce video card, then that Announcement at the topic of the forum does not apply to you. This particular issue is specific for Premiere Elements 10 NVIDIA GeForce.
    If all that did apply to you, what version of the driver did you roll back to?

    If you do not have a NVIDIA Ge Force video card, something else, and you have only one video card, then try deleting the BadDrivers.txt file. In your Windows 7 64 bit, the path to it should be
    Local Disk C
    Program Data
    Adobe
    Premiere Elements
    10.0
    and in the 10.0 Folder is the BadDrivers.txt file that you delete. Be sure to be working with Folder Option Show Hidden Files, Folders, and Drives active so that you can see the complete path cited.

    Thank you for the details of the issue you are experiencing with sound on your iPhone.  I recommend the following steps for an issue like this:
    Verify that the volume is set to a level you would normally be able to hear.
    Ensure that there is nothing plugged in to the headset jack or the dock connector.
    If the iPhone is in a protective case, make sure that the speaker port isn't blocked by the case.
    Make sure that the speaker and dock port aren't clogged with debris. If necessary, clean it with a clean, small, dry, soft-bristled brush. Carefully and gently brush away any debris.
    If an audio issue occurs when using a specific application, try testing other applications to see if the issue persists.
    If the iPhone is paired with a Bluetooth headset or car kit:
    Try turning off Bluetooth.
    If you experience difficulties with the Bluetooth feature, followthese troubleshooting steps.
    Restart the iPhone.
    If restarting doesn't fix the issue, ensure that your iPhone is updated to the latest version of iOS.

  • Phone is not getting signal to make calls, sometime it works but not for the most part.  I can hear callers at times but they can not hear me.

    Looking for help on how to get a better signal when receiving and placing calls.  Phone got a little wet and is having hard time placing calls and receiving call.  Calls are breaking up most of the time but some times I have 4 bars and phone calls goes through just fine. Noticed phone is having troubling connecting to towers.  Get a call but caller can not hear me when I have only one bar showing on phone.  Phone does hit 4 bars sometime and phone call is clear.  Any suggestion., new phone still learning how to use.   Should I try to reset to factory settings???  Have read lot of negative comments on the web about doing this.  Trying all options before going to the Apple store.

    I ended up getting a new phone, straight through Apple.  I called their technical support and went through all he basics again and they decided to replace it.  Was a pretty quick process - after defaulting and resetting the whole phone (about 2 hours),  I called them back to inform that there was no change, so they set up the order.
    I had to give my CC# so they could hold a charge on it (in case I didn't send my old phone bach, which they sent me a pre-posted package to send it in anyway).  Had a brand new iPhone 4S in my hands in 4 days, which was pretty decent.  I had uploaded everything previously to iCloud, so setting up the new phone was a snap.
    Only thing I really didn't like was they charged me almost 30 bucks for shipping or processing, or something.  Not so sure that should have been my responsibility after spending so much on a brand new product, only to have to have it warrantied after, like, a month.

    I'm new into the Mac world environment with a recent out of the box MacBook Pro that I just recently received three weeks ago. One of the main concerns that I would like to share with you is Video Conferencing with a PC AIM user, which I think this deserve some sort of investigation or if you have any suggestion that I could do to solve the problem I really, really would appreciate it.
    Let me tell you my story:
    On me side, I'm in UK based with:
    - A New MacBook Pro, No modification to any settings.
    - Firewall, I checked settings and it is off.
    - BT Voyayer2091-B7 Wireless ADSL Router (Works Great), high speed.
    - Setup Account for iChat on AIM network
    Other End, My Wife based in Mexico with:
    - Dell Latitud D810 Intel Prowireless, Windows XP SP2 (1.8GHZ, 2MB Memory), No internal microphone integrated.
    - Ethernet Broadband connection, high speed.
    - Webcam PCL-300K connected trough a USB port with Microphone.
    - Setup account for iChat on AIM network
    We followed the recomended setting described by this two sources:

    Without too much hassle we were able to communicate each other, wow! this is great it works!! we though, with a little bit of delay in the frame display but voice very clear this was enough to keep in touch each other.
    After three weeks of succesfull communication on both ends for long periods (1.5hrs) without any interruptions we were able to communicate, and it was four days ago that all of the sudden we starting having problems with our communication, starting primarly with receiving this message errors of not responding for an invitation from her after I accepted her request, the same situation in the otherway around. However after disconnecting and trying again it was only when she invited and I responded (Accepting) which finally we stablish communication again.
    The Problem:
    Now, even that we are able to stablish communication with Video in both ends, she CAN perfectly hear me and watch me, on the other hand I CAN see her but CAN NOT hear!!. At first we though it was a problem on the microphone, not switched on or some kind of sound setting that she might turned off, but NOT, everything was right.
    Well, I refer back to the documentation described in the links above thinking that this may be an issue with the router on her END not Mine or firewall setting. She reinstalled everything and follow all the required steps to setup the setting of the firewall according to documentation and we tried again with the same results.
    On my end as I mentioned previously I do not have any firewall set on in my Mac, the only bit that I have not check yet is the router configuration, and the reason is because I'm in a renting property that provide us with Broadband connection to internet that individual or different computers/pcs have access to. And because everything worked fine at first, I don't think there are setting there that are needed to be changed, no one has make anychanges to the router and everything works fine.
    Our last resource for us was, thinking that it might be a problem with her microphone in her web cam, so we decided to use SKIPE instead, and surprise!, we could stablished only voice communication in both ends, so this proved that her Microphone setting are OK!, so our work around to our communication and Video problem is to open an iChat convertation for the VIDEO part, On my END and set the MUTE and Open, at the same time a SKIPE session for Audio only. This works pretty good and actually the frame rate of the display on boths ends accelarate a lot.
    If I check connection Doctor on the iChat session I received 100% coomunication with video and 0% Voice, still I don't received Voice from her.
    I know this is not the good solution and I'm still concern of what wen't wrong on that time that interrupted our communication without doing anything in the settings in both machines.
    We decided not to spend more time anymore on this matter due to I'm very tire investigating what migh have been wrong, but as I said this is not the right solution something is wrong in my settings which does not allow me to pass through voice signals from her. I reached to the point to reinstall ichat but because this is NEW machine and don't want to incurr in the same sort of situation I had with Windows, that is why I personally switched to Mac.
    Well have a happy reading and if you come up with some solution or you have come across with something similar and managed to soleved it I really would appreciate it you help or advice.

    Welcome To The Apple Discussion Pages.
    If your wife has unplugged her Mic at any time she will need to redo the tuning.
    It is also possible that her video quality need to be reduced to allow the audio to come through.
    You should start a chat.
    At her end she should see your incoming video is in one of two tabs.
    She should click on the rear tab which will come to the front and show her preview.
    A small icon should appear to the right of the tab.
    She should click on this to bring up a slider.
    Sliding this to the left will reduce her video quality.
    At this point this will allow the processor at her end to produce new frames faster which means her pic to you will smooth out a bit.
    If you open the Connection Doctor from the Video menu you will see the frame rate and Bitrate go up.
    As the slider gets moved further to the left you should get Audio.

    When you import them into your Premiere Elements project, what does Premiere Elements Properties for that import give for
    the audio description in the way of number of channels? If you open the Audio Meter (Window Menu/Audio Meters) and you play back
    the video in the Premiere Elements Editor, how many channels does the Audio Meter display?   
      I just drag and drop video and when playing back only channel 1 will appear
    What is your intended export for this video in terms of audio as well as video compression and formats?    MP4
    I think you can only use audio if it's recorded on channel 1 or it does not recognize it.

  • Adobe Presenter can not use audio output after 10.8 upgrade

    Hi,
    I just upgraded from Snow Leopard (10.6.8) to MTL (10.8). All went smooth apart from the fact the when I launch adobe presener (flash) over any browser in MacOS, it can not play the audio part. It used to with 10.6.8.
    The problem persists after rebooting the Mac. Other Apps (iTunes) use the audio just fine. So, it's something specific to the path of code that Adobe flash is using (?). The funny part is that when I launch VMware Fusion and a Windows7 VM, I can use the audio for the same application. So, it's the MAC part that's broken. Any ideas? Maybe I'm missing an updated plugin or something?

    There's no change if I hold command-R to boot into recovery. The mac chimes on powerup but nothing else seems to happen.
    The machine has an SSD drive in it so I can't even listen to hear if it is loading anything or acting differently when I try different keypresses.
    As I had some spare RAM lying around, I've tried swapping that in but no change there either. I still suspect it's a software rather than hardware problem, but without any way to control the boot up, I'm not sure how I can fix it.
    I do have remote time machine backups - is there any way of restoring these manually, perhaps by removing the drive from the mac and copying the backup data over using another system? (Unfortunately I don't have any other mac systems to experiment with this, though)

    What does syncing have to do with the problem?
    - Try cleaning out/blowing out the headphone jack. Try inserting/removing the plug a dozen times or so.
    Try the following to rule out a software problem
    - Reset the iPod. Nothing will be lost
    Reset iPod touch: Hold down the On/Off button and the Home button at the same time for at
    least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
    - Reset all settings
    Go to Settings > General > Reset and tap Reset All Settings.
    All your preferences and settings are reset. Information (such as contacts and calendars) and media (such as songs and videos) aren’t affected.
    - Restore from backup
    - Restore to factory settings/new iPod.
    - Make an appointment at the Genius Bar of an Apple store. Seems you have a bad headphone jack.

    When the installation has completed, right click the speaker icon in the Taskbar and select Playback Devices.  Left click 'Speakers and Headphones' once to highlight it and then click the Set Default button - check if you now have audio.
