Can not import Apps purchased on another machine (Same iTunes Account)

I was in the process of cleaning up my iTunes libraries and coping files between my two Macs and discovered that I can no longer import the .ipa file from one iTunes Library to the other Mac. When I try to import into iTunes, I get the error message saying: "The application could not be added to your iTunes library because it is not a valid application." With previous versions of iTunes, I have been able to copy apps between Macs. Both machines have up to date software and the same iTunes account. Both machines are authorized and work fine independently. Does anybody know of a new method of adding an iPhone/iPad application to your iTunes Library? Thanks.

All purchases should be available.  Are you sure they were purchased under the same ID?
It has always been very basic to always maintain a backup copy of your computer.
You should ALWAYS have a backup copy of your purchases.
When you bought records, you kept the records, just as you should keep the songs you downloaded.  If you throw them away with your ipod, then they are gone, just as if you threw away a record with the record player.
You can transfer itunes purchases from an ipod:  File>Transfer Purchases
It is 100% your fault if you fail to maintain a backup copy of your music.
You will never be happy with any digital product if you fail to do the basics.

Hi do I buy a second licence of Compressor on the app store so I can share processing. Want to use the same itunes account.

If you're referring to distributed processing on multiple computers and if they're yours, you don't need another license. Just sign in with your account info and download C4 to the other computer.
If that is not what ypu're referring to, please give a more complete description and perhaps someone can steer you in the right direction.
    Good luck.

  • How can I use 2 iPhone 4's on same iTunes account, but NOT sync same contacts?

How can I use 2 iPhone 4's on same iTunes account, but NOT sync same contacts?

They need to be registered under different Apple ID's.  The initial Apple ID is set when you first start the phone up.  If you've already registered the phone to the iTunes account, back it up to your computer, and then have iTunes do a factory reset.  Go to www.icloud.com, log in with your current Apple ID, select "Find My iPhone," choose the iPhone you want to dissociate from your primary Apple ID from the upper left, and then click the little circled X ("remove").
When you start the phone, it will have you go through the setup process again, at which time you need to create a unique Apple ID for the device.  You can then restore it from your iTunes backup to get back your apps and other settings.
Whenever you use the iTunes store, use the login information (Apple ID and password) that you were using before.  Basically, the second Apple ID that you created is purely used for accessing iCloud services, which includes synchronization of contacts, iCal events, and other such things.

How do I contact an App developer about in-App purchases that were charged to iTunes account in error?

In-app purchases go through your iTunes Support, so they should be the people that you contact (the developer won't be able to refund you) : http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/ - click on Contact iTunes Store Support on the right-hand side of the page, then Purchases, Billing & Redemption

  • HT201272 Why aren't tunes i purchased on earlier devices (same iTunes account) available for me to download now???

I bought an ipod nano (gen II) many moons back and then updated to an iPod touch.
Over the years, I've purchased music from iTunes that I now wish to add to my new device.
But when I check my ITunes purchases, the older purchases just don't show - even though they were all purchased using the same iTunes account.
This seems a bit unfair and comes across as a rip-off as I don't want to have to buy them all again.
In the olden days, you went to the record shop and bought records. But when you traded in your old record player for a smart new hi-fi you didn't have to walk back to the shop and buy all your records again.
It's the reason why I won't upgraded my gen I touch to a new one.
(Apple seem a bit quick in this respect. I bought the v.expensive Apple Hi-Fi to play music through my nano. When I upgraded to my iPod Touch, they'd changed the voltage rating on their devices and so the Apple Hi-FI no longer worked fully with the Apple iPod Touch!.I had to buy a 3rd party adaptor which ruined the look of the whole setup - not good esp. as you buy apple gear for its design).
I've reached the point where i'll probably never buy another apple product.

  • Download app onto 2 computers with same iTunes account

If I purchase an app to install onto my iphone from my computer can my daughter also download the app to her computer and install onto her iPod without re-purchasing? We share the iTunes account.
If this is possible then what do you do when the app store says it has already been downloaded?

    We share the iTunes account.
I'm assuming its your itunes account in use on your daughters computer, correct? Make sure her computer is authorized: Store>Authorize this Computer. Then you can download purchased apps to her computer. Click buy, a popup will appear saying do you want to buy, click yes, another popup will appear saying you already bought, do you want to re-download, click yes.

  • Can you sync your ipad & iphone to the same itunes account yet or?

its been over year now and the iPad 2 is out, its apparently evident that when something goes wrong no one response here with a solution, can you or can you not sync both a iPad and iPhone with the same iTunes account flawlessly yet, because i helped over 4 people to do this and every single method seems to be work arounds.
has anyone figured out how to sync both devices to the same itunes account with out work arounds after all your apps get scattered outside their folders?

You have always been able to sync as many devices as you like to one account/library/computer.
Plug in one device, select what you want to sync, then sync.
    Unplug that device.
Plug in the other device, select what you want to sync, then sync.

  • Can 2 iPod's be attached to the same iTunes account?

I currently have an iPod Classic (30GB). I have it for about 10 years now.  It at the point that it will not stay charged for more than a few minutes if it is not sitting on the charger.  I plays good and works good when it's on the charger.  I would like to look at getting a new iPod that I can use when walking on the treadmill or outside.  My question, can I have 2 seperate iPod's on 1 iTunes account?
    Thanks!

Yes, as long as they each have different names.

  • Can I have 2 different IPods on the same itunes account and computer?

    I have a nano gen. 4 and a new nano 7.
Can I have them both on my itunes account and computer?
    thanks

Yes. You can easily have multiple iPods on the same iTunes account on the same computer. Each iPod will show up with its name when plugged in, and each iPod can have its own set of preferences (i.e., what music, videos, photos, audiobooks, etc. to sync).
What you can't do easily is use the same iPod on multiple computers with different instances of iTunes. One instance of iTunes has to be "in charge" of an iPod.

  • Can you have 2 contacts lists on the same iTunes account?

I have an iTunes account that both my wife and myself use, me with a 4, my wife with a 4s. I want to swap phones with her, can the two sets of contacts be saved on the same account, or do we need seperate accounts, back up the respective phone, then sync in the other account?

  • Can I update apps purchased in another country

Hi. I live in Japan and I've purchased the some iPhone and Mac apps in the Japanese iTunes App Store. Now I am moving to Brazil and I want to keep the same Apple user id, but my billing info will change, so I won't be able to use the Japanese iTunes store anymore. I should be able to access the Brazilian store instead, because the country of my billing info will change. Even free updates are considered "buying" so I am concerned I might not be able to update my apps because updates need to happen in the store of the country where you originally purchased the app.
Can I update in the Brazilian store an app purchased in the Japanese store? Any tips or suggestions?

I already have this mess. No you will not. Unless you change back to the country that you bought the app from. Oh, but then you run into the problem that you need a valid address and payment method from that country.
So no, if you move to another country, Apple will steal all your apps.

  • Can not get shows "Purchased on Apple TV" in iTunes to show up on Apple TV

Hi - Ugg! To try and make this all work I deleted and re-added Apple TV to iTunes. I now can not get any of the shows that have been transferred to my laptop (which I did not want in the first place) to show up on the Apple TV.
All the shows that I bought now live in iTunes under "Purchased on Apple TV" but are not showing up on my Apple TV.
When I go to sync it wants to move the few shows I have left on my Apple TV over and I can't get it to not do this.
    Thanks

Control-click the movies in iTunes, reveal them in the Finder, move them over as you would any other file, and drag them into the open iTunes application window. Rented movies won't play if moved this way.
