Can not install Camera RAW update

I have been unable to install v5.4 and now 5.5 on my desktop. It installs without a problem on my laptop. MAC os v.10.5.8 and the laptop is a clone on the desktop. Adobe support has told me to try manual install nothing works. the case #181056926.
Any suggestions, help.

What happened when you tried to do the manual installation?
Did you remove everything from the
/Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/CS4/File Formats/
folder and then install the new 5.5 plug-in into that same folder, then
restart PS/Bridge?

Can not install Camera Raw 5.6

I just recently purchased a Canon 7d so I had to update my CS4 in order to view the raw files in CS4. Everytime I try and to install Camera Raw 5.6 it keeps saying that installation failed. What am I doing wrong?

You can try doing a manual install using the PSE link near the top of the main ACR 5.6 page and then find the CS4-specific instructions on that manual install page.
The ACR update is linked from:

Can't install Camera Raw update

I have never been able to install the current update for Camera Raw with PSE 6.0 for Mac. Even though I initially installed PSE 6.0 with all the default settings and location (Applications folder), I get the following error message when attempting to install the Camera Raw update, "The Updater is unable to locate the product to be updated."
I access the update via PSE's "Updates..." under the "Help" menu. How can I fix this? Thanks.

The PSE 6 updater can never ever update ACR, so just shut it off. You need to go here:

download the update and manually install it according to the directions. Be sure to remove the old plug-in first.

Can't install Camera RAW 6.3 into Elements 9

I have downloaded the installer for 6.3 but when I go to install it, I get this message. "Some updates failed to install." When it tells me to fix the problems below, all it says is: installation failed!
I need this update in order to open RAW images from my Canon Powershot S95.
I am working with Elements 9 on both an iMac running OS 10.6.8 and onto a new MacBook Pro.
I have spent an hour reading everything I can and haven't been able to find any place to send this question to Adobe by email. The phone system for help has more than a half-hour of wait time.
Can someone figure out this problem?

Thank you. I couldn't find the Mac update section at the Adobe site by
using the various search options.
But,
The new download 6.5 installed without trouble. However, the "open with"
command still prompted Elements to respond with an "Unrecognized file type"
error, even though Elements was not listed as the default application.
Trying to open a nef file within Actrobat still showed the nef files grayed
out as unopenable with the application.
I tried to do the manual copying of the camera raw.plugin from the Assets 2
folder as you suggested. H owever it does not appear to be used in the
newer version (6.5). Instead, there is a Profiles directory containing two
further directories: CameraProfiles and LensProfiles.
The CameraProfiles folder contains a series of further folders for various
camera types, and each folder had a number of .dcp files. I can't find a
"camera raw.plugin" anywhere within Assets 2.
So, in sum:
1) The disk image Elements9CameraRaw-6.5-mul-AdobeUpdate downloaded from
Adobe installs correctly.
2) The default program type for .nef files was changed to Elements
3) Elements will not open a .nef file either from "open with" or within the
application selecting open from the menu.
Hoping you can help me work around this problem.

You need at least Camera Raw 8.2.
Photoshop CC ships with Camera Raw 8.0.

Failure to install Camera Raw update

I tried to install Camera Raw 6.4.1 update for CS5 (doing so from within CS5) but it failed twice. The screen says to contact customer support which I did, but was told that they no longer support this version and I should go to the forums.
Can anyone help, PLEASE!!!

Error code when trying to install Camera Raw update 6.6 to CS5 Extended

I am trying to install the camera raw update 6.6 to my newly purchased CS5 extended and I keep getting an error code U44M2P7, or U44M1P7. I really need to figure this out because it will not read the raw files from my Nikon D7000 without this update. Business will be picking up for me in the next few weeks so I hope to get this figured out soon. Thanks in advance for any help!

Have you tried to download and install directly from Adobe, instead of using the Updater in PS?

Problems with Installing Camera Raw update for PSE 10 from Apple Appstore

Hi. Need some help, I have just bought Photoshop Elements 10 from Apple App Store directly from MAC. I realised a few things
1. That software directly downloads and i could not find any serial number for it
2. That software does not include Organizer, or how do i access it. It seems to be not the same as directly downloaded from adobe website
3. the Camera Raw software 6.5 does not look like full featured, it has a number of missing tabs. I tried to download the 6.6 Update and 6.5 Camera Raw Update but both could not be installed

Can we skip Camera Raw Updates?

Every time CC announces an Update, We are somewhat excited. But most of the times the excitement is tempered, because it's just a Camera Raw Update.
I would like to skip these notifications, and only be notified when there's a significant update.
I do not buy new camera's every week, and when I do, I will download the updates needed.

We are afraid that just Camera Raw update couldn't be excluded.
Other than that, you can turn off notification under preference menu from general and apps tab in creative cloud.

Having Trouble Installing Camera Raw Update

Everytime I try to install a camera raw update it (I need it to be able to see my images in bridge, etc.) I get completely through the installation process only to receive an "installation failed" message. Any idea how to get around this?

HELP!! Adobe Updater won't work and can't install camera raw 4.6

I just installed Photoshop CS3 Extended onto my new MacBook Pro running Mavericks OS. My Adobe Updater says "No Internet connection. Please check your Internet settings and/or firewall. Waiting for connection..." That's the first problem. I figured out how to manually update Photoshop and Bridge, but Adobe Updater still shows this message when trying to check for updates. Also, I've tried to update Camera Raw from 4.0 to 4.6 and I can't figure out how to manually install it. I knkow the website says to do the following:
Mac:
Exit Photoshop CS3 and Adobe Bridge.
Open the Finder.
Navigate to the root of the local disk (not the user’s home folder).
Navigate to Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/CS3/File Formats.
Move the existing plug-in to another location (for example, a new folder on your desktop). Ensure you keep this version in case you need to revert back.
Copy the Camera Raw plug-in, Camera Raw, from the download into the same folder as in Step 4.
Launch Photoshop CS3 or Adobe Bridge.
I nativagated to Library/Application Support/Adobe, but there is no Plug-Ins folder. So, I manually entered "Library/Application Support/Adobe/Plug-Ins/CS3/File Formats" and it says this folder doesn't exist. Can anyone help me update my camera raw?! PLEASE!!
