Can not install this update for kb2667402 windows 7 professional. I tried various fix-it but it did not help Update KB2667402 failed with error 80004005

I'm not sure where to turn now and am soooooooooo frustrated! I have been trying to get security update KB2667402 with error code 80004005 to install for a couple months without any success.
So, I finally turned to microsoft tech support... Case# 1186572463
On Fri. Oct. 26 I was on the phone with a microsoft tech for over 3 hours. The tech that took remote access of my computer said she did not know how to fix my problem and that my case would have to be escalated to a higher level and that I would
receive a call back on Mon. Oct. 29th. However, I never got a return call.
Yesterday - Tues. Oct. 30th I called in again and was on the phone for 4.5 hrs with a microsoft tech and he also took remote access of my computer but was not able to fix the problem. I asked to speak to someone at a higher tech level and was told to call
back into the microsoft helpline.
The 3rd call - Although I had been told during the prior 2 calls that I was still covered under my warrenty I was now told that I needed to pay for the support call. It took a while to get that straighteded out and to give all my information again to
the call center but I finally worked with a 3rd tech for over 2 hrs. but had to terminate the call for a conference call I had with a client. The person I worked with said he would call me back between 7-8pmEST so he could continue helping me but I never
got a return call.
I have already invested over 10 hrs in the last few days regarding this issue and fear that if I call back in I will once again start over completely with no success which is why I am reaching out here. Is there anyone that has the knowledge of how to fix
the problem?

I've been having the same problem and today did some searching and found something that worked.  Check that the download hasn't already been installed - look in the Installed Updates listing for an entry.  If it exists there, uninstall it, and
then force a Check For Updates and retry the install. This worked for me and I hope it helps.
Good day, Chuck.

    Hi all
In administering this policy I am a little confused.
We have a policy that distributes proxy settings in the internet explorer maintenance settings section - however when opening this policy up in GPO editor the internet explorer maintenance section is not present.
I plan to apply the settings via User/preferences/control panel settings/ internet settings (or registry settings from article) however I am unable to edit the settings for internet explorer maintenance and these will persist. Ideas????

Only Adobe can tell the meaning of the error codes.
Are you downloading the update or running it from Adobe's site.
    Try downloading from here. http://www.adobe.com/support/robohelp/downloads.html
Otherwise this is an installation problem that is supported free. Contact Adobe.

  • Can't install or update my KMS with KB2885698

    Hi!
Hopefully I found my way to the right forum now....
So I'm running Office Pro 2013 using a KMS, this worked great in Windows 8, but after the update to 8.1, it has stopped working...
I've understood that a way to solve this is to install and update the KMS host by the use of this file: KB28885698
However when I'm trying to install it, it says that it is: "not applicable to my computer"....I have tried with versions: x64 windows 8 and x64 windows 8 server 2012...nothing works...
So how can I make my KMS work in Windows 8.1?
    Cheers!

    Hi
I have my KMS host over Windows Server 2012 R2. However i Can't load keys for Windows 7 and Windows server 2008.
    the error that displays is:
    error 0xc004f050
    @Gary, this is expected.
You cannot, and do not need to, install Win7 nor WS2008 keys into a newer KMShost OS.
If your KMShost computer OS is WS2012R2, you must use the WS2012R2 KMShost product key, which will activate the KMShost OS itself, and also activate the KMShost features for serving all KMSclient OS versions/editions.
A KMShost, when running on WindowsServer OS, will issue activations for all KMSclients at the same OS version/edition and all lower version/editions.
You can only install ONE KMShost product key on a KMShost.
(note that Office KMShost function is a totally different story)
So, if your KMShost OS is WS2012R2, you need a WS2012R2 KMShost product key.
If you don't have a WS2012R2 KMShost product key, and if you aren't entitled for that, you must choose a different OS for your KMShost.

  • Can't Install Security Update 2007-009 With Software Update

I tried to install Security Update 2007-009 on a 10.5.1 G4 system, but the installation fails with an "unknown error". Here are the details:
    1) Software Update downloads the file and ask to Restart
    2) Get to the blue screen
    3) See these messages "Preparing target volume" and "Configuring installation"
    4) Get this error message:
The update "Security Update 2007-009" can't be installed.
The installer encountered an unknown error that failed the install. Contact the software manufacturer for assistance.
    5) Restart
I then deleted the "Security Update 2007-009" folder from Library->Updates and tried the update again, but got the same error.
Any idea what's wrong and how to fix it?
    Thanks.

I installed Security Update 2007-009 via Software Update and received the following error:
"Security Update 2007-009 can't be installed. The installer could not validate the contents of the SecUpd2007-009 package."
I ran Disk Utility (twice) to ensure that the permissions were in order and received the following report on both occasions:

Regarless, I downloaded the update directly from Apple Support located here:
    http://www.apple.com/support/downloads/securityupdate2007009111051.html
And 2007-009 installation complete without a hitch. I have no idea what is going on with the permissions (any recommendations) but I have not found any other problems since this update was installed.
    I hope this helps.

It and other updates have installed successfully (after the KB2926765 failure) and KB2926765 keeps failing.
    Thanks.

  • Windows 7 update KB2868626 fails with error ERROR_ACCESS_DENIED (0x8007005)

    Hi,
I can't install Windows Update KB2868626 on my Windows 7 Enterprise PC. I've searched but found nothing that could help me, it keeps installing, and revering changes when rebooting.

    Hi,
From the error code, this issue may be caused by incorrect permission on registry.
    Please download
Subinacl.msi and run this command to grant registry with administrator rights.
Open CMD, type these commands below:
    subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE /grant=administrators=f
    subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_CURRENT_USER /grant=administrators=f
    subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT /grant=administrators=f
    subinacl /subdirectories %SystemDrive% /grant=administrators=f
    subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE /grant=system=f
    subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_CURRENT_USER /grant=system=f
    subinacl /subkeyreg HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT /grant=system=f
    subinacl /subdirectories %SystemDrive% /grant=system=f
After this, please try re-installing the update again.

  • Migrate an application from x86 to x64. Compiling succeed, but can not run. Always start with error 0xc0000142.

platform: windows server 2008 r2; ide: visual studio 2005 (installed the x64 development kit)
    Hi, everyone.
I want to migrate my application to x64 platform from x86/win32 platform. I added x64 platform in visual c++ 2005 option, and compiled successfully. But the application can not start. When start it always pop up an alert dialog saying "The application
was unable to start correctly (0xc0000142). Click OK to close the application."  Meanwhile, it's worked well when I use win32 option to compile.
Someone says online, the dependency walker can detect some root cause. I used it, and found that IEFRAME.dll may be had some problem because when I double click it, pop up a dialogue saying "Errors were detected when processing "c:\windows\system32\IEFRAME.DLL".
See the log window for details.". But I can not resolve this issue.
    Please help me.

If I had to try to solve this:
I'd start by verifying that I can compile, and run a skeleton x64 Windows app.  Just create one from scratch using the Windows Application project template, add the x64 platform, build it and run.  Hopefully all goes well.
If that works, then I'd try trimming down your app to just its essentials.  If you're not using revision control software, back up your projects now, because once you find the problem by hacking and slashing, you'll want to revert so you can make a
    clean fix.
The first thing to do here is just put a return 0; in the beginning of WinMain to see if it's code at runtime that's causing the problem or something about the linking and dependent library loading.
I'm guessing that, even with return 0, you will still have a problem, which would suggest that you are perhaps still linking against a 32-bit version of a library or something like that.  Start removing dependencies or references or libraries until
you can build and run your stripped-down application.  Eventually you'll find the one reference/library that causes it to fail to load.
You can also check the debug window to see if some modules loaded correctly and others not.
    You can also run
Process Monitor (sysinternals) to see which dll it was accessing when it failed to load.
Make sure you revert any changes you made while hacking and slashing, then make your platform fixes, and have another go.
I suspect that eventually you'll find that you've added a link library that is a 32-bit .lib or a component that references a 32-bit library.  You'll have to make sure you specify the x64 .libs for whatever libraries you are using.  Sometimes this
means that you have to change you additional linker directories to point to the x64 libs instead of the x86/win32 libs.  Be very careful about your platform when specifying linker libraries, directories, etc.
It could also be that the x64 version of a dll has been copied to your output folder rather than the x86 version, assuming they have the same name.  You'll have to sort out your SDKs and get the right .libs and .dlls.
Make sure that your settings and property pages are set correctly for Release and Debug, and for x86 and x64.

  • Can not edit a "Script task" with error message

    TITLE: Microsoft Visual Studio
I try to edit the vb.net script in script task that I developed and get this message.
Any idea what happen and how to fix this.
Cannot show Visual Studio 2008 Tools for Applications editor.
    ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
Failed to create project at location "C:\Documents and Settings\pchen\Local Settings\Temp\2\SSIS\78a8360ded6b4c719c8aae52ac7483bb"! (Microsoft.SqlServer.VSTAScriptingLib)
The given path's format is not supported. (mscorlib)

Silviu investigated further and found the root cause.
Repro steps to break it (SSIS 2008 VSTA editor for Script Task/Script Component)
    1. Edit script in VSTA
    2. in VSTA File->Save As: save file somewhere on disk (intent is to back up script code)
    3. close vsta.
    4. OK script task dialog
    5. Edit script in task again. Gives Error above.
This is a bug in the way SSIS calls into VSTA. Unfortunately SSIS cannot disable “Save As” functionality in the script designer which in turn will cause the error you are seeing the next time you try to load the script.
This is caused by the source file you saved in a location which is not under the project folder.
We have opened a bug for this in the next version of SQL Server, but the workaround is easy enough for anyone facing this in SQL 2008 or SQL 2008 R2.
