Can not login to file sharing from iMac

I have been trying to connect through the bluetooth feature to File Sharing from my iMac to my MacBook Pro.  I use the same password for login to my computers and for my File Sharing connections. For some unexplained reason; whatever password I enter when trying to connect from my iMac to the MacBook, it is rejected. I attempted to Change the Password. I entered what I have always used as my password and a new password. That was rejected. I assume because the "old password" was not recognized.
How do I go about establishing the correct password on my iMac to connect to my MacBook. I can log off my MacBook, and restart with that password; so I really don't understand what's going on.
Please advise.

I read many threads about similar errors while connecting to BI Publisher I tried this:
- Patch KB908002 (.Net for develosper) and didn't work
- Patch KB907417 (office 2003 for client). Didn't work too.
I changed to a vitual machine with Windows XP and Office 2007. Everything is working just fine.
I think the problem with Publisher Desktop 10.1.3.2.1 (connection with BI Publisher) has to do with Windows Vista or Office 2003 (both installed on my pc). I'll install Office 2007 on Vista and see what happens.
I'll post results.

    This may because the attachment is a winmail.dat file. I would recommend taking a look at the article below for more information. Note: the article is written for OS X mail, but does also apply to this situation.

  • Can not activate Personal File Sharing

    I can't seem to get Personal File Share to be active on one of the computers on the network at home. It is my wife computer, G5 running 10.4.8. we just updated to the version and now the file sharing is grayed out. I am running a G4 with 10.4.8 and we are both on an ethernet network. We both have different IP numbers and I can mount my computer on her computer (I have no problem turning on File Sharing) but I can't get her file sharing on. Any suggestions

    I have "Show Hidden Files' enabled on all my machines, so not certain it will be the same on yours, but...
    Bring up the Root level of the Boot HD in Finder, locate "automount" folder and open it.
    Start the Terminal window, type...
    cd and a space, drag the "automount' folder to the Terminal window, press Enter, this should change it to look something like...
    bd8:/Volumes/Machintosh HD/automount bd8$
    then you can type in rm space and drag the 2 files one at a time, (Servers & Static), over to terminal. Hitting enter will trash whatever is after the rm, so be careful.
    (I'm using the Finder to drag because it reduces typing errors, but you could type it all in).
    cd back to root and rm the Network at root level.
    Reboot.

  • Can not open .pages file on new iMac Mavericks

    Cannot open a .pages file on 2014 iMac with Mavericks. Pages v 5.2.2  says there is a newer version but I cannot upgrade Pages either. Thoughts?

    I know that situations that keep you from opening documents can be very frustrating. The new version of Pages that is being referred to is Pages 5.5 and is available with Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite.

  • I can not login into skype anymore from skype prog...

    Hello there, I had an account which is blocked with no a clear reason from skype, they told me that it had some suspicious activites and all i did is adding my friends' accounts simultaneously and skype support told me to create another account and there is noway to get the old account back which had about 100 important contacts on it and I lost them all and I can not retrieve them now even I asked the support to just backup my contacts and send them to me and they refused, after this I can not sign into skype from my PC. The next step i did was to create another account to start over from the beginning again, I signed into it from my Android device. I Added some of my friends who were on the old account - just about 5 - 7 friends -without being confirmed the request and this account also got blocked and I can not sign into skype with any other account from my android device. Now there is noway to use skype from my side and I dunno what the wrong i did and how can I solve this problem before I think of another alternative better than skype. Thanks in advance.

    You didn't really specify what happens when you try to sign in.

  • Thunderbird can not open .xlsx files directly from it.

    Programs: Microsoft Office 2010 Pro and Mozilla Thunderbird
    - I can open directly from Thunderbird all the attachments except .xlsx. But when I save it on disk, opens just fine. .xls files do not have this problem. File association is ok. Please help!

    Is it set up here:
    Tools > Options > Attachments
    Under 'Content Type'
    Microsoft Office Excel 2010 workbook
    Action: Use microsoft Office excel'
    Note you can click on the action to see a drop down selection if you need to change it.
    then click on OK
    If it is not there then you need to set it up.
    right click on attachment and choose 'open'
    a window pops up asking what to do.
    choose 'Open with' and either 'Microsoft Open XML converter'
    (I have MS Office 2007 so can to use that option)
    or better still select 'Microsoft Office Excel'
    If the option is not available click on 'Other'
    See if option is now available or click on 'Browse'
    and in Microsoft Office, locate the Excel.exe file (it might be in a folder called 'Office 12 or another number) and click on 'Open'
    select: 'Do this automatically for files like this from now on'
    and click on OK

    At approximately 4:00pm EST my Itunes account asked for password.  I submitted my password and it was not recognized by the store and I attempted multiple times to log in. I reset my password and still no success logging in to Itunes from my PC or IPhone.  However, I can log in through the web page.  Does anyone have any knowledge on how to resolve this problem?

    I'm seeing a issue here that alot of people are having this exact issue. not sure whats is up yet.

    When you use Migration Assitant it creates another user account and puts your files there. Please log out of your normal account and log into the new account. Had you use Setup Assistant when it asked if you were migrating that would not have occured. You have a couple of options, combine the two accounts (not recommended) or start over, use Setup Assistant and have everything in one user account.   • Can not login to Revel from Elements 12.

    My pictures are not uploading to Revel Premium.  The option to "Sign IN to Adobe Revel" on File menu from Elements 12 is greyed out...so it appears we can not login.  Any ideas?

    I do not know how to paste a screen print to this message.  I pasted it to a Word doc but can't find a way to attach it to this message The inability to sign into revel to sync my account is just one problem I am having, not sure if that is why my pics won't go to my revel account or not. (By the way, I am not using an iPad app, I am using my Macbook Pro to sign into Revel via internet.) I was signed in a couple of weeks ago just fine and the pics still would not sync to Revel. (I read on a forum to disconnect then to shut the program down and then restart and sign in to get it to work.  Ever since then it has not worked.) Before  I upgraded to a paid subscription, pics would upload until I met my free # of uploaded photos. Since I upgraded to a paid account, no more will move to Revel.  I have created mobile folders in Elements and Revel will show the 4 folders I have created but they are grey boxes with titles, but no pics inside.  The only pics that are on my Revel site are the few I was able to load when it was a free site.  No more.
    I REALLY need help and have spent countless hours reading every forum, blog post, and problem solving site.  Last week I chatted with adobe customer service who had me look at every setting and I apparently have every setting the way it should be to work correctly (except that now I can not sign back into Revel from Edit > Preferences > Adobe Revel -- "Sign in to Adobe Revel" option is greyed out.)  They told me that I could call the help line and I would not be charged for the call because I have purchased the software.  (A lie.) I called the phone number he suggested and they told me it would be a $29.95 charge for receiving any help with this matter.  I told him I am not paying another $30 after I have spent $100 on the Elements software and another $60 on Revel and can't even get it to work.  He suggested I chat with someone from Revel department.  He walked me through to get me to the right place to chat. The new person on chat was unable to help because he was in "customer service dept." and did not have ability to help with technical problems.  He said I could post my problem in the forums but since I had posted another problem 7 days before that was never answered I was reluctant. So I ask, what am I to do??  I can not get the software to work. I spent around 3 hours that afternoon trying to get help.  I spent at least 5-6 hours before that trying to fix it myself by reading all the helps and "work around" solutions on the adobe site.  I have since then been trying to find a way to save my pics to an external drive because my husband noticed that when on my Elements program under Help>Updates that a error message pops up that says "Adobe Photoshop Elements 12-Your application install seems to be damaged, Please reinstall the application."  Unfortunately I am scared to death about losing all my hours of editing pics, organizing photos into folders  that I have already done because the program will not allow me to "back-up my photos" on an external drive when choosing that option.  I'm currently saving each folder to the desktop and then manually saving individually to an external drive because that is not working either.  I am not sure any of this is necessary but I feel I must be prepared if I have to call and spend the ridiculous $30 to get help to finally use the software I purchased a month ago, and they tell me I must uninstall and reinstall the program.  By the way, an Adobe Technician installed it for me "remotely" when it would not install the paid version after using the trial version , so if it was done incorrectly It is not my fault.  I just need some help and am beyond frustrated.  If I had not already sunk so many hours into editing and organizing, I would demand a refund and find another software program that actually works that also has a physical person I can talk to if I have a problem.  I mean--any company should at least supply help for a short period of time to make sure it is working after installed. I am so short on time to work on this and just really need help to get this working.

    If you are having the same problem, i.e. a disk permission problem, open your favorite search engine and search on, "change disk permissions", and I think you'll find plenty of information on how to fix the problem. This is a Lightroom forum. Your problem is with your operating system. There is no sense in rewriting instructions that are already available if you do a simple search.

    ACR 6.7 would be for an older product, PS-CS5 or PSE10 or PRE10.
    What does Help / About Plug-ins… / Camera Raw… show in PS-CC for a version for ACR and is there more than one version of ACR in the Help / About Plug-in list.  Help / About Plug-in is what I’d do on Windows; I’m not sure if the menu path is the same on a Mac or not.
