Can not make a recovery disc for Toshiba Laptop

When I try to make a recovery disc for my Toshiba Satellite L305-S5919 I receive the following message:
An error occurred in the recording phase. Please check if the disc is scratched or dirty.
Error Code: 0E01B5-26-2A040301.
I have tried to do a recovery disc since buying the Computer in June 2009. The message always comes up at the same spot in the process. I am using DVD-R discs.

Can you burn to those disks using the regular Disk Writer Program?  It doesn't matter what type as long as it's to that same batch of disks.
I would contact Toshiba as per this post and request that they provide you with a set of Recovery Disks since you can't make your own.  They shouldn't charge you for them under the circumstances, but you might have to be forcefull about it.
If you don't post your COMPLETE model number it's very difficult to assist you. Please try to post in complete sentences with punctuation, capitals, and correct spelling. Toshiba does NOT provide any direct support in these forums. All support is User to User in their spare time.

  • Can't create the recovery discs for Toshiba Satellite C55-A5387 Laptop

    Hello, I just got my Toshiba Satellite with Windows 8 and have barely used it. One of the first things I did was go to the TOSHIBA Recovery Media Creator to make recovery discs but I get error messages when burning the DVDs.
    Toward the end of burning the DVD I see this:
    "Failed to read the following file.
     D:\ZZimages\ZZimages\install25.swm
    (error Code: 02014F-20-0000000)"
    Or this slightly different error messages:
    "Failed to read the following file.
     D:\ZZimages\ZZimages\install16.swm
    (error Code: 02014F-20-0000000)"
    Lost
    Solved!

    If the problem is the recovery partition on your hard drive instead of the DVD's you will have to call Tech support 1-800-457-7777 , Call while you still have 90 days free tech support.
    Post your findings, thanks!

    5. Click on "Create an ISO file for the recovery disc".
    6. Select the destination where you want to create the ISO files. (Default is the D: drive)

    8. Click on "Finish". Make sure the box is unchecked.
    9. Browse to the location of the ISO files. Double-click the recovery_dvd file. (Note: Depending on your system, you will have 1-3 recovery_dvd files)
    10. Insert a blank DVD (If the AutoPlay window pops-up, close it). Click on "Burn". It is also recommended to check the box to verify disc after burning.
    11. After burn is complete, click on "Close".
    12. Double-click the recovery_dvd2 file.

    You will only know about the hard drive when you try to access it in TDM from your other computer. If you cannot boot into TDM mode or if the drive does not appear on the new computer's Desktop then it is likely bad.
    What you are thinking about as a recovery disk is the Recovery HD normally created when you install Lion or later on the computer. You boot from it as follows:
    Boot Using Command+R keys:
      1. Restart the computer.
      2. Immediately after the chime press and hold down the
          "COMMAND" and the "R" keys together.
      3. Release the keys when the Utilities Menu appears.

  • How do i make a recovery disc for compaq nc 6400

    Just recovering from a major crash and learned my leason about not having a clean recovery disc. How do i make one that will have all my correct drivers and be able to do complete reboot if needed again?
    I have a compaq nc 6400 using (for now) Windows xp perf.
    Thanks

    Read the following HP document. There is a description of how to create a recovery disk set. It is unlikely that after all this time you can make a set.
    http://h20566.www2.hp.com/portal/site/hpsc/template.PAGE/public/psi/setupInstallDisplay/?sp4ts.oid=1...
    I did a search online for NC6400 recovery disk set and it appears that aftermarket vendors can probably help you.
    Try the following vendor

    If you are not able to burn it, you can order a new disk here:

  • HELP!!!!!! Need to create recovery disc for hdx laptop in Vista

    I have been told by HP that I can create a recovery disc right from my computer.  Really ...... please someone tell me where and how.  Right now there is nothing wrong with my PC but I have been stupid and forgot to create it previously.
    As an added note, so I can vent, my service pak ran out last month, which HP did not remind me of with an email like they alwasy do, and the guy I spoke to was no help with that.  He said there was nothing I could purchase now.  Also, I was told by more than one person that I had lifetime chat support online ...... well that's a lie too I found out.  So, they will not help me at all now!!!!!!!!!  The guy also told me the reason I did not probably get an email was becasue the support for this laptop ended in August and it will become obsolete this coming August.  That is probably the reason he said.  Wow why did I buy a HP computer and not a Dell.  When I had my Dell I called like more than 10 years after buying the computer and received phone based technical help on it still and no I did not have an extended warranty at the time.  They gave lifetime technical assistant via phone.  Looks like I may have to switch back.  Sorry HP but my experience has been less than good.

    This document should help with the how to part of making the recovery disks.
    I have raised your post to the appropriate team for review. Someone should contact you via private message within two days.

  • IPOD not recognized/copying to disc failed: Toshiba Laptop USB the issue!

    Just got my IPOD back from servicing (needed new battery). While syncing, every 20 or 30 songs a message appeared: Attempting to copy to the disk failed...
    I kept trying, but eventually Itunes (and Windows) wouldn't even recognize the IPOD (even the IPOD gave up...would flash the "do not disconnect" for a few seconds then immediately default back to default mode (menus, etc.) I could not restore.
    My symptoms seemed to be similar to lots of other problems I saw in the discussion boards. THEN...I somehow linked to this file:
    http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=300836
    I had to use my Toshiba laptop's Device Manager to disable the "enhanced" speed USB port. Presto! Immediately the IPOD was recognized and updated FULLY (albeit at very slow speed). (2 hours for 850 tunes). What I don't understand is why this suddenly started to happen? HOPE THIS HELPS SOMEONE !

  • How can I make an Install Disc for Lion 10.7.5, when it already installed

    I purchased the Lion 10.7.5 download through the App store and it started downloading before I realized that I needed to make a copy of it, is there a way to make a backup copy of the operating system in case of a problem. I was not allowed to re-download it through the app store.

    Thank you... I will take your advice and relax...
    OK will do.
    As you can tell, I totally disagree with apple on this.... It should be a DEFAULT that the ability to make a DVD start up disc is always there... not the other way around.
    I have spent hours on this upgrade... upgrading the Snow Leopard, upgrading to Lion, Installing new hardware, re-installing new hardware, re-installing the old hardware...
    Some people, like myself, have the ability to DIY, but I don't have the incredible highly detailed inside knowledge that I apparently have to possess...

  • Can not make work custom scope for run time created pages

    Greetings
    i have an application where you can choose a scope where you want to create your page using the create page task flow. the thing is that it is not working my pages are not being created on any new scope, looking through the folders of the MDS repository i only see a new folder where each new scope i create with mi app in runtime has a folder with the same name that the scope and inside of each...is an xml file....the path to those is /webcenter/mds-integServerRepos/<my_app_name>/oracle/webcenter/framework/scope/scopedMD/<custom_scope_name>/scope.xml
    does any body know why this is happening?

    Hello
    i am using the create page task flow.....here is the task flow configuration, it only has one parameter
    <taskFlow id="pagecreatepage1"
    taskFlowId="/oracle/webcenter/page/view/jsf/fragments/page-create-page.xml#page-create-page"
    activation="deferred"
    xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adf/controller/binding">
    <parameters>
    <parameter id="oracle_webcenter_page_createpage_scopename"
    value="${adminPagView.scopeName}"/>
    </parameters>
    </taskFlow>
    scope name is a method in my backing bean ..............and here is the method implementation
    public String getScopeName() {
    ServiceContext sContext = ServiceContext.getContext();
    try {
    Scope scope = sContext.createScope("scope_test");
    sContext.setScope(scope);
    } catch (ScopeAlreadyExistsException scopeExistsException) {
    System.out.println("Scope Already Exists...");
    return scopeName;
    the method executes correctly and in the mds folders y can see a folder for that scope in DefaultDomain/webcenter/mds-integServerRepos/<my_app_name>/oracle/webcenter/framework/scope/scopedMD/scope_test/scope..xml
    and my page jspx is in this path
    /oracle/webcenter/page/scopedMD/s8bba98ff_4cbb_40b8_beee_296c916a23ed/user/U364DAA907F1311DFAF1145A33DBB364E/Page1.jspx
    as you can see s8bba98ff_4cbb_40b8_beee_296c916a23ed is the defaul scope, maybe i am just creating a scope but no telling to the task flow to
    used it..............no sure what is happening
