Can not open "about.config" in either "normal" or "safe mode" in Firefox.

I am trying to modify the Preferences in the About.config settings, but I can not get into "about.config" in either normal Firefox mode or in Safe Mode Firefox.

I can not open PDFs while using Parallels

My boss recently bought me an iMac and since our company is on Windows I have to use the software for Parallels so I can run both Windows and Mac. The problem I ran into today was I can not open any PDFs on either the Windows or Mac side. The error message that appears says: Distiller can not run fils with the extension PDF or JFD. I have never heard of a Mac having issues opening PDFs so I am at a loss.

I use Parallels with no problems creating PDFs with CS products running in Windows (XP SP3) or in OS X 10.6.8, and no problems opening them with Acrobat or Reader on either OS, regardless of whether they were made under the same OS as the opening application.
How are you opening the PDFs? Double clicking or right-clicking on them in Finder or Windows Explorer, or by using File > Place in a CS product on either OS, or by using File > Open in Acrobat or Reader in either OS?
If the problem exists when trying to open in Acrobat or Reader with File > Open or double clicking in Finder or Windows Explorer, it's definitely not an ID problem.
If you're using File > Open in ID, this is your problem, because ID can only place (import) PDFs, not open them.
Have you tried closing Windows and then trying to open a PDF on Mac? What results? (NOTE: you can leave Parallels running or close it, too.)
As Peter S. notes, there may be a problem in which application is set to open PDFs. You can find out by right clicking a PDF in Mac Finder, and lookiing under Open With - the default application is stated there. I believe it will show Windows applications used by Parallels, like Distiller on the Windows side, but I'm not sure if Parallels needs to be running or not. If files with PDF extension do not have a Acrobat, Reader, or PDF icon in Finder or Windows Explorer, then the PDF extension isn't correct for the actual file, or the file's corrupted.
Can the files be opened by another user on another computer; i.e., are you the only one with the problem? If so, create a new user account on your computer, and try to open the PDF. If this works, then the problem may be due to incorrect permission settings.
Search Google for terms like "windows create new user account," "mac OS create new user account," "windows associating files with applications," "mac associating files with applications," "InDesign place pdf," and "parallels windows mac file associations," without quotes, for links to resources on this Adobe site, as well as across the Web.

I test the simpsver using simpclw run on the same machine, the simpsver seen to
run normally. After config the correct network option,I test the simpsver on the
different machine using simpclw, now I get the "1356 ERROR:pifreg:can not open
registry database error" ,the action bea suggested is "Make sure that the directory(default
TUXDIR/udataobj) is not on an NFS mounted filesystem that does not support file
locking", but in fact bea client is installed on a local file system (ext2)!

Are you saying you are getting an error while trying to crosscheck at mount? Or you simply don't believe it will work?

I enter about.config in my address bar and a page from SearchAssist - Landing appears with this message: "As a courtesy, your ISP provided this page because "about.config" does not exist or is unavailable." How can I reach about.config?

Details in original question above - maybe that's why response was that this question had not been asked before. I use very slow dial-up (DSL not available in my area) and I have a lot of computer problems as a result. So I'm not sure if this is because of my computer or if the page really is no longer available. Last time I reinstalled the OS I was able to access it and make changes (May 13-14). I need to reinstall the OS again but, if I can't access about.config, I won't be able to get the computer back to working the way I want (status bar at bottom of screen, etc.). Is there some other way I can try to access the about.config page?

It sounds like you might have accidentally hit the zoom button. Try hitting ''CTRL + 0'' to return it to normal size. Just so you are aware, ''CTRL'' and ''+'' will zoom in and ''CTRL'' and ''-'' will zoom out.

These are your options:
1. Restore the iPhoto library from the most recent backup that predates the issue.
2. Repair or rebuild the library.
3. Scavenge the library with iPhoto Library Manager independently of iPhoto (Library ▹ Rebuild). Books, calendars, and slideshows won't be preserved.

Since we updated our Firefox to the last version I have not been able to open my email at msn/live.com We have 3 computers networked and it will not open on any of them. However, my husbands account [email protected] opens. I can open it on my home computer but not at our office and it is our office email. Can you help? • My earlier suggestion for accepting cheques from those who like me do not have any cr. card has still not been accepted.
• You please incorporate features from other good programmes as these are still not there in FireFox and I am using only this since when I first installed it and I do not intend to use any other but these features as I remember were available few years back are still not there in Mozilla so today there should be many more features which can be incorporated in Firefox.
• When the connection is on but not opened i.e. the connection has been switched on but not opened i.e. the modem lights are on and not off then if I go back to a page opened then the Firefox shows loading problem but if I switch off the modem then I can access that very same page. This should be taken care of so that even if I switch on the modem but the connection is not on even then I should be able to see the page 1 or 2 or many pages backwards.
• Then I can not open the history even of today and see that page whereas earlier I could click any history page and it showed even if it was 5 days old (which is my setting) and I have not changed any setting.
• I also thank the all add-on creators because I have installed very few but even then these are very useful.
• I would also suggest that you incorporate these add-ons in the FireFox itself for example I suggested many moons back that let there be a system of any number of tabs being opened (and a few more suggestions) and it is available as add –on in tab mix plus which I have now installed.
• I also request to everyone concerned to give his ideas as to what other features can be incorporated in Firefox and these suggestions be on your website and after a certain number of well wishers and users select the idea you please either develop it yourselves or any well wisher can do it and then it can be incorporated in the Firefox.
• I also give you my suggestion which is not available presently to my knowledge in the browser or add-ons this is that if I move a window in tab mix plus then it is always in a window for each tab but instead of that my suggestion is that I should be able to move any no. of tabs or any other tab to one particular window only and that too in any manner I like in any sequence like at a particular No. of tab say 15th etc.
• I also feel presently having some problem that when I shut down the computer after save and quit pages that are there are not reopened. Loading problem in those pages appears I do not know the reason but Firefox should be able to show all the last page/pages/window/windows I was perusing after I saved and quit.

Please provide more details about your computer along with the graphics card. Also, A log file might help identify the cause of the crash. Please right-click 'My Computer', select "Manage," look under 'Event Viewer->Windows Logs->Application' to see if there's an event there from Premiere Pro. If so, copy the contents of that log and paste them here.

Can not open itunes.

Get the following message from itunes when i try to open it: The file “iTunes Library.itl” cannot be read because it was created by a newer version of iTunes. Would you like to download iTunes now? I then press yes and the macs look for new updates and then tells me that everything is updated. I use a mac and everything is backed up by icloud.
The problem started when I had to reset my ipod classic as i for some reason could not add anything new to it - I then reset the thing and spent hours manually adding the music and books I wanted to go on it. When I disconnected - I had nothing on the ipod! I then restarted my mac and reconnected the ipod and all of a sudden the look and feel of itunes had changed - I thought it has updated even if I was not awaire of it. As I did not understand the new layout I accedently pressed some button who synked my whole library and the ipod now works, all though it is very full and now I can not open my itunes libary.
This latest incident comes after a week of itunes **** - I have already spent two hours at the genious bar sorting out our ipod thouch after that did not work due to upgrades from apple. Why does it have to be like this? Why do i have to spend hours of my buzy time going to the genious bar, looing at forums, writing to forums when all my devises worked properly before these updates? I have seen some answers to this problem on the forum, but they all seem very complicated and I don't know if it will work with icloud. I am afraid of accidently deleting some of my music if I start messing around in the background. Does anybody know a simple solution to this or should I book another appointment with the genious bar which would take about 5 hours of my life?

either upgrade to the latest, or you might find an older back-up copy of your iTunes Library.itl in
\My Documents\My Music\iTunes\Previous iTunes Libraries\
if not, and the latest version doesn't fix your problem, then you might wish to delete iTunes Library.itl and start again
