I check lsnrctl status and fine. I can connect to database by sql*plus. The listener and or db status have nothing to do with the ability to display a web page, even if that web page is from OEM.

  • Can not open oracle 10g OracleXE file

I have tried to open the OracleXE and was unable to. I have windows XP and it says that it can not open a mime type file. Is there another format that will work?

Your browser may be helping a bit too much, check the file name extension.
Try using Windows Explore, locate the downloaded file and ensure you've got the .exe file, for 10g size should be about 210MB, something like that.
Turning off the "Hide Extensions for known file types" option can be helpful (under Tools/Folder Options/View tab).
    And there are forums for specifically for XE, {forum:id=251} and {forum:id=1378}

    Hi,
You mentioned you tried some steps but I'm not sure what they are, you may try my suggestion to resolve this issue, follow these steps:
    Click Start, right-click Computer, click
Properties, and then click Advanced system settings.
On the Advanced tab, click Environment Variables.
Locate and select the __COMPAT_LAYER variable, and then click Edit.
Set the value of the __COMPAT_LAYER variable to EnableThemes. Or, delete the __COMPAT_LAYER variable.
If the issue persists, we can troubleshoot this problem in Clean Boot to determine whether background programs are interfering with PowerPoint:

  • Can not open report

I prepared a report in 3.1.36 using Oracle apps.
When a co-worker tries to open it, it has error message: Can not open due to Multiple Outer Joins.
Checked security and disabled fan trap already. Is there anything else to check?

That error is the default error you run into when something is wrong with your print server configuration. Please make sure you followed all the instructions outlined here:

  • Windows service can not open DB.

    Hi,
in 8.1.7 on Win 2003, when I launch oracleservicemyDB in Windows services, it can not open myDB and I have this error in alertlog :
    Database mounted in Exclusive Mode.
ORA-1991 signalled during: alter database mount exclusive...
I can connect via sqlplus and issue :
    ALTER DATABASE OPEN;
    and no problem.
I can SHUTDOWN or STARTUP in sqlplus without any problem. Any idea ?
I have already recreated PWDmyDB.ora file by ORAPWD.
myDB is a clone (by CREATE CONTROLFILE script) of another DB.
    Many thanks.

    Hi,
The oracle service has a setting which defines whether or not the instance is started when the service is started. It's a long time since I've used 8i on Windows, but I believe the command to change the setting went something like this:
    oradim.exe -edit -sid <sid> -startmode a
This will configure the service so that next time it is started, it will start the instance (the 'a' means auto).
    Cheers,
    Andy Barry

  • OTM can not open attachment with Word Document(*.docx)

With more and more use of Word Document(*.docx) (version 2007). OTM (Oracle Test Manager) can create an attachment with it, but can not open attachment with Word Document(*.docx). Is this a problem for anyone else? Any wok around?
    Thanks
    Katherine

I am using OTM version 9.2 and the Word document (*.docx) attachment can be opened in this.
For being able to open a docx file, try to attach an word document from the file option in the Requirements, Test or Issue tabs in OTM , once you upload the file, please check if location is " in Database" Else click update DB and upload the document.
Once the attachment is attached to the Attachment section in the right pane, clicking on the attachment will open the *.docx document.
    This has worked for me.
    Hope this helps.

  • Can not open pipe for DB_STATUS

After installation, I created the preferred credentials, etc. They work becuase I've used them for jobs already. I realized that I wanted to adjust the Maximum SGA size.
After adjusting the Maximum SGA size, I am prompted to restart the instance (answer Yes). I enter the preferred credentials and click OK to restart. I receive the following message:
Can not open pipe for DB_STATUS at D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_30/sysman/admin/scripts/db/db_instance.pl line 289.
    Any thoughts?
I've checked and verified that the PERL5LIB path is correct:
    D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_30\perl\5.8.3\lib\MSWin32-x86-multi-thread;D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_30\perl\5.8.3\lib;D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_30\perl\site\5.8.3;D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_30\perl\site\5.8.3\lib;D:\oracle\product\10.2.0\db_30\sysman\admin\scripts;
Other than ensuring that the path is correct, I don't really know what to check next.
    Please help.

Check to enure that the Configuration Database properties monitoring entries are correct (Oracle Home Path, Port Number etc). This is where you specify the Monitor user dbsnmp etc

  • Can not open Form Builder

    Hi Friends!
I am using Form 6i (Client) and Oracle 8.1.7. I have been using these for the past 2,3 months. Now suddenly I got a problem with my Forms Builder. I can not open the Form Builder. It's opening but can't maximize. It is not even showing any error message also. I tried many ways by installing the latest Java jre file and also restarting my pc many times, but still cannot open the Form Builder. I have no back up copy of Forms6i so I can't reinstall.
Can anyone help me, what I should do now?
    Thanks

Are you using Windows NT? I have had problems in NT with disaparing windows, windows which was started outside of monitor range, or windows which only could be maximized from right-clicking on then in Windows toolbar (bottom of the screen). Mostly I'd to try to move the application using the cursor keys.
A new version of Forms6i is found here:

Can you be more specific than "can not connect to database"? What error do you get, or what is the behavior exactly?
What are you using for connectivity? Is it indeed ODBC, which you've filed this under?
Is this deployed on a 64 bit box? If so, do you have the IIS app pool set to 32 bit, since your assembly is set to target 32 bit?
