Can not open page - Safari can not open page because website is invalid

I have this sign coming up when I try to get onto Safari.  I press the OK but it doesn't let me go back or put in anything on safari so basically I have no web access.  Hhow can I reset Safari so it does not remember the site and lets me use the web as usual.  It is a weather site I clicked on through a goodgle search:
accuweather.com

Hi everyone, I also had the same problem with connecting to the internet at home, with a brand new iPad, but managed to sort it out today with the help of the Genius Bar staff. I figured it was a router/software issue because wifi/internet was working at my university and at the Apple store. As posted in other threads on this forum, your iPad was probably not assigned an IP address.
I am using an Airport Express 802.11n, and this is connected via ethernet to my modem from my internet provider in Switzerland. It seems the problem is with "Bridge Mode", and my modem won't give out an IP address to my iPad. To fix this, I used the "Share a Public IP address" mode instead of Bridge mode. In Airport Utility, I went to Manual Setup - Internet - Internet Connection tab - Connection Sharing - Share a public IP address.
Then in the DHCP tab, DHCP reservation, I added my iPad to this list. it will ask you for your iPad's MAC number, which you can find in your iPad Settings - General - About - Wifi Address. I did not bother adding my Macbook or iPhone and wifi is still working for them so I think this IP address reservation step might be optional.
For those not using Macs or Airport Utility, unfortunately I am not familiar with setting up routers in the browser, so I can't help you there, but hopefully you get the idea.
Internet now works, but I haven't tried it long enough to know whether I have issues with dropping wifi, but at least the IP address is obtained and I can surf.
Hope this helps others!!!!!!

  • TS1398 my problem is my iphone 4s is connected to the internet(wi-fi) with full signal strength but freezes when browsing and says "Cannot Open Page, Safari could not open page because the server stopped responding".

my problem is my iphone 4s is connected to wi-fi with full signal(3 bars) strength but freezes when browsing and says
    "Cannot Open Page"
"Safari could not open page because the server stopped responding"
I already reset the iphone to its factory settings and erase all contents but still the browsing speed freezes or not searching at all. Sometimes it will work and fast but then the problem uccors every now and then. Iv'e been using iphone 4 for two years and I still have it and works fine compared to this IPHONE 4S.

Settings → scroll down to Safari → in Safari settings, I selected both Clear History and Clear Cookies and Data.
IF that does not work -
Restart or reset your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch - Apple Support
Finally - if problem still present -
    Go to Settings>General>Reset
Reset the network settings - you will need to add the password of your home WiFi in your phone once more
The device should turn itself off & back on then go into Settings>Wifi and join your network

  • Can I set up safari to automatically open PDF documents in the pages app?

Can I set up safari to automatically open PDF documents from the internet into the pages app?

No - and you can't open pdf files in the Pages app on the iPad anyway as far as I know. You can export a Pages file as a pdf but you can't open them in Pages.

  • (cannot open page) Safari could not open the page because the server.

I keep getting this message on both my desktop and ipad "(cannot open page) Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding" on only certain webstites.
Hotmail, my college website, my bank.
However apple and facebook both work.
    help :P

    Hi,
I have been having "dns server failure" messages for at least two weeks, now. Working with both Apple tech support and my isp ( Wild Blue satellite) to resolve the issue on both my core2duo iMac and i7 MBP both running OS 10.6.8.  No solution until the isp tech came out and went through diagnostics on my machines/  his assesment is that the latest update to Safari has connection bugs to certain isps and that they will eventually be resolved by Safari.
I called Apple Tech support to tell them this, hoping they would get on the Safari buggy case and fix it sooner. Otherwise I have been using Firefox with no problem.
    Hope this helps.

  • Can i keep 1 page open in safari and not have any one close it

Ok so i need to keep a page open in safari for a work thing but it needs to stay open all the time and cannot be closed.
i have a macbook air and i need to ask if there is any program i can use to do that?
    kind regards,
    Steve

    Good morning Steve,
It sounds as if you need to keep other people from making changes to your MacBook Air when you are away from it. One way to do this would be to allow the computer to go to sleep after a short period of inactivity, and to require a password to wake it. See this article for how to do this -
OS X Yosemite: Require a password after waking your Mac
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
    Best,
    Brett L

  • Safari Not Loading Web Pages (Safari can't connect to the server)

I'm seeing increasing problems with Safari being unable to connect to websites. When the problem starts to manifest itself you see the error:
Safari can't connect to the server.
    Safari can't open the page.
Then you see the URL information. It is always seems to be sites that are trying to load HTTPS pages.
Clearing the cache and resetting Safari will make it go away temporarily, but it always comes back.
Note that when this happens you might happen to see something like this in the address bar:
    file:///Applications/Safari.app/Contents/Resources/

I'm having the same problem, I can open safari but when I try to go to a website it just says "server stopped responding." I just updated to the new version and that's when it started happening, it was working find before the update. Any suggestions???

  • Can't fix this - Safari can't open the page

i am connected to the Internet and some website will open others won't, it depends. I keep getting the message Safari can't open the page. It is specifically with the links, I have tested this on my other computer and I can get on the website fine. I have been looking on forums but have not found anything that works? Any ideas

Go step by step by step and test.
    1. Power off the router. Unplug it from the wall. Wait a while.
Plug it back to the wall. Power the router on. Wait until all the lights are lit properly. It will take a while.
        Restart the computer.
        Start up in Safe Mode.
        http://support.apple.com/kb/PH14204
    2. Delete Caches.db
Close all windows and quit all applications.
Hold "option" key down and click "Go" menu in the Finder menu bar.
        Select "Library" from the dropdown.
        Library > Caches > com.apple.Safari > Caches.db
Right click the Caches.db file and select "Move To Trash.
        Close windows and relaunch Safari.
    3. Empty Caches
        Safari > Preference > Advanced
Checkmark the box for "Show Develop menu in menu bar".
Develop menu will appear in the Safari menu bar.
Click Develop and select "Empty Caches" from the dropdown.
    4. Delete Cookies
Safari > Preferences > Privacy > Cookies and other website data:
        Click the “Details” button.
Remove all cookies except from Apple, your internet service provider and banks.
    5. Safari > Preferences > Extensions
Turn off Extensions if any and launch Safari again to test.

  • URL opens in Safari but not Firefox

I've uploaded all files properly, and I keep hearing that
it's something to do with my path. I'm not 100% familiar in
Dreamweaver, so I could be overlooking something, but when this
non-working html doc is compared to a similar one (different only
in the image displayed), everything is the same. One works
    perfectly, the other does not.
Is there any reason a page would open in Firefox, but not in
    Safari? The link is

    Any help would be appreciated.
    Thanks

looks like the source for the image file is messed up. i'm
not sure how it's working in safari!

  • How can I get my safari screen to open in full screen mode

My Safari screen open with a small window, can I set it to open in full screen every time I click on Safari

You need to enable the program to resume what it was doing. so go to:
System Preferences > General > Uncheck "Close windows when quitting an application".
then go to safari, size the window how you want it, in your case put it in full screen, and then quit the program. when you open up safari again it should be in full screen view.
    Hope that helps!

  • Links to safari not working properly -- safari doesn't display page on top

I just did the latest upgrade.. but notice that if I choose a link from within an email - it opens safari - but the safari page is hidden by the email screen.. the safari page is not viewable without choosing it from the "window" menu item. At first I thought the links from email were not opening safari at all -- then realized that the safari page does open --but it does not come to the forefront of my screen - as it used to...

I called applecare and they recommended re-installing the update directly from their site - apparently a lot of issues with updating from the software update via apple menu. So I did - and have the same problem. my husband has it also on his macbook.
I discovered that it's tied to the "space preference". If I turn the space preferences completely off -- my links from email do open up correctly in safari. If I turn the preference on (not including mail as an application" - the problem resurfaces Which is that when I click on a link in an email - the page does not appear in the forefront in safari.... it gets "hidden" behind whatever page safari is displaying
Has no one else had this issue but me (and my husband). I don't really use the space preference anymore -- but this is definitely a new issue on my laptop.

  • Is there a way that articles opened in Safari can be saved to read off line? Sometimes they are there when I opened Safari but other times I get the message that the page can't be found because I don't have Internet access.

Sometimes they are there when I reopen my iPad, even without Internet access. Other times I get the message that the page can't be found because I don't have Internet access.

    You're welcome
I use Reading List all the time.

  • What does it mean when I keep getting the following message:  Cannot open Page:  Safari could not open the page because the server stopped responding"  I have it connected to my wifi, have 3 strong bars, but the circle just keeps going around.

What does it mean when I keep getting the following message on my IPad2:

Usually it's because you are not making internet connection via wifi.

Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
