Can not open pages 4.3 from my Macintosh HD

Hi, I downloaded pages 5.5.2 but need to use the previous 4.3 version (since I cant find all the functions I need). So, I go to iwork 09 in my macintosh hd (as I read I had my previous pages version saved here), and click on pages 4.3 but nothing happened. When I click the app info, I can read the "blocked" option (in the general tab) as a light grey, and nothing can be done, I wonder if it has to do with it... Please, I really need to open my 4.3 pages version, I hope you can help me -I am really bad at computers, so over explaining is really thanked!

Using Get Info to change all documents to open with Pages 4.3 doesn't work. It will work on individual files, but that could be a lot of files to reset.
This is what works for me. After I installed the new iWork updates I created a folder on an external drive & named it "other applications." I then moved the new iWork apps to this folder & renamed the applications Keynote 6, Pages 5 & Numbers 3. I have icons for two versions of Pages & Numbers (I rarely use Keynote) in my Dock. Even with two versions of Pages & Numbers running, double-clicking an existing file opens in Pages 4.3 or Numbers 2.3. This should also keep the Mac App Store from nagging you to update. Others have renamed the '09 iWork apps & set them as default.

Additional things to try.
Try this first. Turn Off your iPad. Then turn Off (disconnect power cord for 30 seconds or longer) the wireless router & then back On. Now boot your iPad. Hopefully it will see the WiFi.
Go to Settings>Wi-Fi and turn Off. Then while at Settings>Wi-Fi, turn back On and chose a Network.

Another thing to try - Go into your router security settings and change from WEP to WPA with AES.

Note - When troubleshooting wifi connection problems, don't hold your iPad by hand. There have been a few reports that holding the iPad by hand, seems to attenuate the wifi signal.

Iphone 4 error message while in wifi "safari can not open page because server stopped responding" after iOS6 update

I am currently using my Iphone 4 in wifi networks only after canceling my cell phone plan. Over the weekend I did the IOS6 update on the iphone as well as updated my macbooks itunes and OS X operating systems updates that were available. Since that my iphone's safara app won't connect. After it trys to connect for a minute or 2 I recieve the message: "safari can not open page because server stopped responding". However ALL other apps that require the phone to be connected to wifi for use work properly, i.e app store, imessage, pinger, facebook, etc. I have checked all network setting and they looked right to me. Anything I'm missing, ideas to try, or am I sol (lol)? Safari worked perfectly before the update so I thought I might have done something wrong or forgot to change some type of setting.

If you can access Facebook while on Wifi at home, but you are unable to access it while away running on your carrier's 2G network, I could phone your carrier. You have already completed the Cellular Data troubleshooting for the iPhone, so any limitations keeping your from connecting to Facebook over cellular will have to be answered by your carrier.

Thanks, Eric. I'm not sure what I should be checking using your suggestion--as I said, I'm an utter novice with the iMac. However, I saw a reference to problems with the Library entries, so I checked mine and the iWork files were missing, something confirmed when I checked the crash log. In desperation, I did another software update, and that seems to have fixed the problem completely. Now wondering if I dare upgrade to Lion!

This may because the attachment is a winmail.dat file. I would recommend taking a look at the article below for more information. Note: the article is written for OS X mail, but does also apply to this situation.

This is on an iPad, correct? Are you sure you have a network connection? Is your iPad Wifi or Wifi & 3G? I know these might seem like dumb questions, but we've got to narrow it down to get a solution. If you're absolutely positive you have an active network connection we can move on to other things.

So you have two identical copies of the iPhoto library on two different machines? YES
and again How does the option launch and using the select library command not work ->
it simply does not accept the copy of the imac library . if i want to choose the library, it is not accepted to be chosen.
so i tried over network to choose the other way round as you suggested (labtop library on the imac) and it worked , but it ruined (as i thought) my original library of the imac ! i could restore it from the back up , BUT this is simply strange, i can not find the restored libary of the imac on it´s original place ! it must be hidden somewhere !

That could be exactly what happened. The server could be having a problem or the path to the server is down.

Safari can not open page-but I can open manually

I can open it manually but not when I open a new window.
It was working fine and then all of a sudden it did this.
I reset safari and shut down my mac, rebooted, etc. Nothing

Hi everyone, I also had the same problem with connecting to the internet at home, with a brand new iPad, but managed to sort it out today with the help of the Genius Bar staff. I figured it was a router/software issue because wifi/internet was working at my university and at the Apple store. As posted in other threads on this forum, your iPad was probably not assigned an IP address.
I am using an Airport Express 802.11n, and this is connected via ethernet to my modem from my internet provider in Switzerland. It seems the problem is with "Bridge Mode", and my modem won't give out an IP address to my iPad. To fix this, I used the "Share a Public IP address" mode instead of Bridge mode. In Airport Utility, I went to Manual Setup - Internet - Internet Connection tab - Connection Sharing - Share a public IP address.
Then in the DHCP tab, DHCP reservation, I added my iPad to this list. it will ask you for your iPad's MAC number, which you can find in your iPad Settings - General - About - Wifi Address. I did not bother adding my Macbook or iPhone and wifi is still working for them so I think this IP address reservation step might be optional.
For those not using Macs or Airport Utility, unfortunately I am not familiar with setting up routers in the browser, so I can't help you there, but hopefully you get the idea.
Internet now works, but I haven't tried it long enough to know whether I have issues with dropping wifi, but at least the IP address is obtained and I can surf.

My research project on iCloud can not open (PAGES)

Hi, today me and two others student were working on our school research project in pages on iCloud (online). We were two with both a MacBook Pro Retina each and one with a PC. We were collaborating on the same document the 3 in the same time online, all was working. Suddenly, the two partner who were "contributors" (the file was on MY iCloud and they had the URL) received an error message and they needed to refresh the page. So they did, but after that it said they can't open the document. I though the problems was from my iCloud (because it was me that shared the file) so I refresh safari too, but after I couldn't access to my research no more, I got the same error message and I can't open it. I tried to stop the sharing of the file, but same after that I couldn't open it. I also tried after to open it from the Pages app in my Mac or on my iPhone, but it alway tells me the same thing.
So, did someone have a idea to resolve the problem / to re-give me an access to my research project ... ? Or, Did I lost it for ever ???

I know that situations that keep you from opening documents can be very frustrating. The new version of Pages that is being referred to is Pages 5.5 and is available with Mac OS X 10.10 Yosemite.

Suddenly can not open pages document

So, I'm faced with a sudden problem. I cant open any pages documents. When I try, there is no error message, the document just does not open. The application itself opens fine, I just can't open any files. When I tried to send the document through gmail, it said that it was zero bytes, so it could not be attached. I am running pages 5.5.2, and osx yosemite. I updated my software within the last two weeks. I don't know when the document was last editied exactly, but I know it was after the updates were made. When I first started trying to open this document, Pages told me there was an update, and I ignored it, thinking that I would do it later. However, I tried to go to the App store to see the update just now, and there was none to be found.

i think if you edit a pages doc on the cloud it wont let you open it with desktop pages - best idea open on the cloud -then copy text, paste to desktop pages. Its all part of Apples 'problem with computer? - buy a new one' policy i guess, its to force you to upgrade the Os...
