Can not restore backup to iOS5???
I don't know what's wrong but I can't restore my backup after upgrading to iOS5!
I have two iPhone 4 and I've tried restoring the backup to both of them. On the iPhone I have iOS 4.3.5 on it works like a charm but on the one with iOS 5 on i can do the restore but once it's done the phone starts and then freezes, restarts and then freezes and that's how it goes.....
Anyone know how to restore to iOS 5??
That is the exact same problem I am having! Everything works fine installing iOS 5 then Restore From Backup works fine but then after the phone restarts bam it freezes at like 20% and there's nothing u can do about it. No matter how many times you restart it just wont finish the restore. Then sometimes while it is frozen I will get a text message and I can see the Slide To Unlock for a split second. There is nothing I can do to get it unfrozen. So it forces me to re-install iOS 5. Which works until I try to restore from any one of my backups. Please, There has to be someone that knows how to get around this **** issue on iOS 5. I want to use iOS 5 so bad and I can't until I can figure out how to get my contacts back on my iPhone 4. I have even tried SSH my address book off my iPhone then installed iOS 5 and when I copy my Address Book back on it wont even let me open the Phone App. It opens for a split second then closes back to home screen. Same with my old txt messages. PLEASE HELP!!

I want to do a factory restore on my iphone 4s but I do not want to the iOS6. If I back up, can then restore backup and keep iOS5 since a factory restore will automatically upgrade me?

I really have some files that are meaningful for me so I really need help. Any suggestions anyone?Select your iDevice in the iTunes.
Choose the Summary screen (tab) and scroll to the bottom of the screen.
Then un-select Encrypt iPhone backup.
iTunes will then prompt you to “Enter the password to unlock your iPhone backup”, enter the password you set originally. -
After updating my 3gs to ios5.0.1, I can not restore my phone. It says session failed after about 20 seconds. It appears to be a restore point available. What should I do?

I work for an Enterprise with around 30 devices so far, 5 of them have been upgraded to iOS 5.01 and we are having this issue, the steps below are appearing, these are both on iphone and ipad 2's with exchange 2003:-
- Exchange Calendars not sync'ing, but Yahoo account working fine.
- Create an appointment on the ipad / iphone and this sync's with Exchange.
- Close the Calendar and re-open the appointment disappears, but stay's within Exchange.
- Meetings created within the Exchange Calendar do not synch with the iphone / ipad.
This is starting to cause a lot of issues.

We are a 1:1 iPad school with iPad 2. I'm trying to update iOS to 8.2 and updating all apps as needed. When I plug in a previously supervised iPad, Configurator immediately goes into restore mode and wipes it clean and sets it up ready to "prepare" even though I've chosen "do not restore backup."
Because of this the student loses all their data on the device and I have to go back and set up email accounts again. Although I've had trouble with Configurator in the past, I've been able to figure out solutions but this one has me stuck.This is might because of your prior change in softwares. so first you have to do run '''sfc''' in run command. and then you see the specific problem which causes this . Since System File Checker (sfc) scan will make Windows replace corrupt or missing system files on your computer.
* Click Start>All Programs>Accessories>right-click Command Prompt, and select Run as Administrator.
* Click Continue or supply Administrator credentials if prompted.
* In the Command Prompt window type the following, and press Enter:
sfc /scannow

My ipad wont switch on and i can not restore it...help?
My one week old ipad Air has frozen and now wont switch on. I have tried to restore it by holding down the button but nothing happens, when connecting it to I tunes, I can not restore it as it wants me to turn off the find my ipad which I can not turn it on to do and holding down the button and whilst plugging the usb cable in is doing nothing??

1. Turn off iPad
2. Turn on computer and launch iTunes (make sure you have the latest version of iTune)
3. Plug USB cable into computer's USB port
4. Hold Home button down and plug the other end of cable into docking port.
DO NOT RELEASE BUTTON until you see picture of iTunes and plug
5. Release Home button.
ON COMPUTER
6. iTunes has detected iPad in recovery mode. You must restore this iPad before it can be used with iTunes.
7. Select "Restore iPad"...
Note:
1. Data will be lost if you do not have backup
2. You must follow step 1 to step 4 VERY CLOSELY.
3. Repeat the process if necessary. -

See if you can force the phone into recovery mode:
Turn your phone off. Leave the USB cable connected to your computer, but NOT your phone, iTunes running, press & hold the home button while connecting the USB cable to your dock connector, continue holding the home button until you see “Connect to iTunes” on the screen. You may now release the home button. iTunes should now display that it has detected your phone in recovery mode, if not quit and reopen iTunes. If you still don’t see the recovery message repeat these steps again. iTunes will give you the option to restore from a backup or set up as new. -

When connecting ipad to itunes, in the Summary tab (in itunes for your device), look in the Backups section and choose to back up to itunes.

Just received a new Ipad Air, but IOS version is older than current IPad...can not load backup...How do I upgrade IOS version?
In order to upgrade the new Air 2, I had to select "set up as new" from the menu. So, after the IOS upgrade is done, how do I "restore" the data that is backed up on icloud from my old Ipad? I don't see a menu item for that . . .

After installing iOS7 I was prompted to make a passcode, I did so and stupidly forgot and now continually am disabling my iPad, ways in which I have read you can sort this is restoring your iPad, however I can not restore without iTunes telling me I need to go onto the iPad and turn off FindMyiPhone! How else can I sort this? It is logged into my apple account and everything! This is an iPad 2 also ASAP help!!
