Can not Run Application from Client PC.

Hi,
I have a pc running on WinXP called "PC1". I have installed Oracle9i Database, Developer Suite 10g and services. I can run my application smoothly on "PC1".
My problem is that i can not run my application from client pc running on WinXP called "PC2". I have installed JINIT.exe on "PC2". I started OC4J also on "PC2". IE shows "Page can not be displayed" message.
What settings i have to do to run my application on Client i.e. "PC2".

I have enable all check box on "Basic" Tab of JINI.
Further, On client, the check Box of "Show Java Console" is also on, but when i try to connect my application from IE, the Java console does not appear.
I would like to inform u that, when i start additional Proxy driver like Analog proxy on my server and then i give that proxy address and port in Client IE connection LAN setting, i am able to run my application from that Client.
But i think that is not the solution.

Flex Can Not Unload Applications From Memory! QED

Hi,
at work we are trying to load and unload Flex Applications from a long standing shell application. We have studied the appropriate documentation, especially this

but we have found that Flex simply will nor release memory once used, no matter how simple the flex application. I have put a couple of posts on my blog about it

Has anybody out there successfully loaded and unloaded flex applications from within a shell application over a long period of time?

Styles can pin an application or module in memory in 3.x versions of Flex but this has been fixed in Flex 4. There are other things that can cause memory leaks. Probably the easiest one to run into, especially with a shell application, are leaks caused by resource bundles.
If a sub-application or module uses components that use ResourceBundles that are not used by the main application, those resource bundles will get registered with the ResourceManager and pin the first instance of the application or module. You can use the -compiler.keep-generated-actionscript compiler option to see which resource bundles the module and main application are using. The resource bundles are listed in the "compiledResourceBundleNames" object of the info() function. You can force the main application to have those additional resource bundles by adding the resource bundle metadata to the main application. For example, to add the "controls" resource bundle, you would add to the main application MXML file: <mx:Metadata>[ResourceBundle("controls")]</mx:Metadata> If you are loading your resource bundles as modules, make sure the resource modules have completed loading before loading the module that is being pinned.

Yes, but it will load a little slower. If it does disk I/O from the external then that will also be slower.

Can not run application on Windows

What's wrong with my windows system.
I compile the java files in linux and put the class file to the windows system. But the class file can't run correctly. The error is following:

Well I can see a problem, though I don't know
why you should get the symptoms you are getting. You
shouldn't be adding components directly to a JFrame,
you should add them to the content pane
(getContentPane().add(..) )That was changed in JDK 1.5. It's now ok to add directly to the component.

Can you please describe your use case? The JDBC-ODBC bridge driver is not all that reliable. Sun considers it "transitional" and it is not supported by them.

We still include the driver in JDev primarily to allow connections to MS datasources like Excel and Access that don't have free/open-source pure JDBC drivers. Why would you use the JDBC-ODBC bridge to connect to an Oracle database?

MacBook Air Hard Drive too small - can I run applications from an external drive or is there a better solution?

I just got a MacBook Air 11" 10.7.2 2GB/64GB. I love it, but the internal drive is sooo small. Occasionally I need to take projects home from work or travel with my computer. Is there any way to run apps (Final Cut Studio, CS5, Office 10, etc) from an external drive? I am trying to convert over from my Macbook Pro (running Snow Leopard) and I can't seem to find a solution.

It's best to keep your applications on the internal drive and consider external storeage for your data.
Your choices are direct attached storeage to the USB port (external portable USB drives), storeage on your home or work network, or cloud-based storeage, like DropBox.
You can also look at slimming down your OSX installation on your MBA by removing unwanted fonts and printer drivers.
Btw, you will struggle to run CS5 and Final Cut Studio on a MBA with 2GB RAM. Only install the applications you really need on your MBA.

New user can not run ping from shell

I am an extreme novice, but I have been able to install Solaris 10 on a SunBlade 100 and have created a second user. I want to be able to telnet or ssh to my system as the second user and then run pings and traceroutes from there to other network devices.
If I remote log in as root I get a # prompt and can run ping. If I remote log in as the second user I get a $ prompt even though the group [0], base directoty [], and shell [sbin/sh] are identical to root in the /etc/passwd file. If I try to run ping I get: ping: not found.
What do I need to configure for the second user so that the login receives the # prompt and is able to run pings?

I'm missing something. I want to create a user that is equal to the root. The root has # prompt and can run ping with no extra work. What do I need to do to my second user to get access to the # prompt and the ability to just type and run ping ?Oohhhhhhhhhh, root has that other prompt and his PATH statement is setup properly and mine isn't so I need to be him instead of fixing the user account.
You can set any users prompt to anything you want. You can make root's prompt a dollar sign instead if you want to and you can set an ordinary users prompt to the # symbol so what does that prove?
All you need to do is to fix the PATH statement in ~/.profile for bash or sh and the user no longer needs to type the full path or use ./ to run a command.
You have a lot to learn.

Can not run Reports from a Form

First: I'm completely new to Oracle, even my english is not very good - i'm sorry for that.
Problem:
I want to run a report from a Form using the Report Server.
If i use:

But if i use:

v_rep := RUN_REPORT_OBJECT(repid); - always following Error-Message appears:
"FRM41213: Anmeldung bei Report-Server SrvShadow nicht möglich" (english: registration on Report-Server SrvShadow not possible)

I can not load application from app store

I just bought a new Iphone and when I try to upload new free applications (ex Solitaire) on my Iphone from app store, it does not work.
The little icone appears, with loading at the bottom, and then nothing happen (no blue line to show the update progressing) ... after a while the icone desappear .
Any Idea why and what I could do to fix the issue ?

I Have developed a j2me web application using wtk 2.5, which takes url to connect in the 'user defined' fields.
Application runs on tool kit, but on installation to mobile(sony Ericson k810i) it doesn't work.
Probably it could not connect to server.
are there any other settings in mobile which I'm missing.

I install Illusrrator CS 4 with an Admin account (Local).
Then I join my iMac in to a server Open directory.
Then I open a session with one of the account of the server open directoty.
But with a OD account, Illustrator is not reponding even if I attended to open it serveral time.
After, I tried with the local account, and it works.

Help:How can I run the J2EE Client Application that will access the remote J2EE1.4 application server which runs on another host computer?
I have developped a stateles senterprise java bean name converter and deloyed it in the j2ee1.4 application server on the host machine A. The converterbean provides the remote home interface and remote interface. At the same time I have developped the j2ee application client named convertappclient. When I access the conveter bean at host computer A through the script 'appclient.bat' as 'appclient -client convertappclient.jar', the client can access the bean sucessfully. Now I want to access the bean through the script 'appclient.bat' at host computer B,what files should I copy from host computer A to host computer B;and what the command line should be like? Thanks!
