Can not sync iTunes to iPod classic 60GB

Hello!I am having a problem to sync my iPod Classic to my iTunes (on a PowerBook G4). It can detect it although I am getting the following message ''Attempting to copy to hard disk +"Marco's iPod" failed. The disk could not be read from or written to''+. It seems to attempt to contact 3 or 4 times then i get this message. Another point, I have just completed a full "restore" of the iPod through iTunes. So it can see it?
Thank you for helping!Marco.

  • My old computer crashed completly. I have a new computer now. It is a HP with internet 8 on it. I downloaded itunes but can not sync itunes to the new computer. Every time I try I get a warning that if i proceed then all my stuff on the phone will erased.

I recently bought a new computer becouse my old computer crashed. Now I can not sync my itunes account. I get an error when I try. It says that itunes will erase my phone content and replace with what is on the phone. I do not want to lose all my stuff so what do I do?

    This is how it works.
Iphone will sync with one computer at a time.  Syncing to another will erase the current content.
Copy everything from your backup copy of your old computer to your new one.

  • Can not sync itunes with 4S

My wife had a 3GS, and now has a 4S. I can not sync her iphone with her itunes account. I have made her administrator on my laptop, uninstalled itunes, reinstalled itunes to no avail. Sometimes itunes locks up when I plug her phone in and I have to start windows task manager to close it out. It shows itunes is not responding. Then sometimes it will show her phone listed in itunes but I keep getting the blue circle like it's downloading and nothing. Again I have to start windows task manager to close it out. Shows itunes not responding. Any suggestions? I have 5 different accounts for 5 different people on the laptop. Each one of us has an itunes account. 3 for iphones, and 2 with itouches. My wifes itunes is the only one I'm having a problem with.

I am having the same issue except mine was Floater-4. Anyone knows the answer, please reply. Thanks!

  • My itunes library is not syncing to my ipod classic what can I do?

My ipod classic was not being recognized by my computer and Itunes was not able to pick up the connectivity. My ipod would unplug itself and not sync my Itunes library. I unplugged it and replugged it. What can I do to fix this problem and how do I fix this problem?

Try an alternate cable, or an alternate computer to rule out obvious connection issues. See also Corrupt iPod classic.

  • I just bought an audio book from iStore, it is in my iTunes under "audiobooks" but will not sync with my iPod Classic, any ideas?

I have downloaded several audiobooks from audible and they have synced fine with my iPod but this book from the Apple Store will not sync from my iTunes to my iPod.
I am also having an issue with iTunes U; I have subscribed to the two classes I am taking this term and downloaded the videos to iTunes but when I sync my iPod classic I keep getting this error message: "Some of the videos in your iTunes Library were not copied to the iPod because they cannot be played on this iPod." I'm not sure what is going on because I have used this feature on my iPod classic before and it worked fine.

Those videos are probably not in an iPod-friendly format. It’s picky about that. You can try converting them, if possible.
As for the audiobooks, are you sure they haven’t synced? You’ve enabled it to sync books and checked the “Audiobooks” section of your iPod?

  • Can't Install iTunes for iPod Classic over iTunes for iPod Touch - iPod Classic not regconized

I have an iPod Classic (80GB) in my car and wanted to buy an additional iPod for use in the house. The salesman assured me that the iPod Nano Touchscreen would be backward compatible with the hardware I have, but it wasn't, so the store manager kindly agreed to me swapping the unit for a brand new iPod Classic 160 GB (at the extra cost, of course).
I can remember that when I connected the iPod Touch the first time, it asked me whether I should install something, which I did. All my music was subsequently transferred to the iPod Touch. It was only when I tried it then that I discovered that it is not 100% backward compatible with my hardware.
Now that I have purchased the new 160 GB Classic, iTunes simply won't synchronize. I downloaded the latest iTunes and installed it - no change. I saw that you could make it work by checking 'Enable Disk Use' from the Summary tab. However, my iTunes does not have a 'Summary' tab, and when I checked further on Google, I found a statement on Apple Support that 'disk usage' is not supported on the iPod Touch.
I then ran 'Device sync tests' under 'Diagnostics' from the Help tab - it came up with the reply 'No iPod touch, iPhone or iPad found'. In other words, iTunes still thinks that the connected device is an iPod Touch and not an iPod Classic, despite me having installed iTunes several times.
Is there a version of iTunes that I can dowload that would recognize the iPod Classic? How can I resolve this problem? I want the same music on both of my iPods.

Please igonore - stupidity on my side - problem was resolved with a call to the ever-so-friendly Apple Technical Support helpline!

  • TS1539 I get this errror message with a batch of 21 songs I bought as MP3's on Amazon, installed into Amazon Cloud, and uploaded to itunes. After that, they will NOT sync to my ipod Classic 120g.  This has no happended in previous uploads using the same p

Clearly I thought I was typing my Q in here, but it loaded into the headline.
The issue is my inability to sync songs (purchased from Amazon, and downloaded with Amazon Cloud Player) to my ipod 120G Classic.
21 songs (most recent, as I buy from time to time, but have never had this problem) will not sync to ipod, but will show up in Music files/library.
The error message is -50, and I did the step-by-step procedure to update the appleipod.bat file (?) with no success.
    This problem never occured before.
I have restored the ipod to original settings, deleted and reinstalled the songs many times and now have hours and hours into trying to simply get some new songs onto my ipod...
    HELP!!
    thanks

  • Can not open Itunes without Ipod connected

I get this message when trying to open itunes without ipod connected.
    Problem with Shortcut
The Drive or network connection that the shortcut “iTunes.Ink” refers to is unavailable. Make sure that the disk is properly inserted or the network resource is available, and try again.
If ipod is plugged in seems to open fine however can not disconnect without closing itunes.
    Im using windows XP Sp3
    Any suggestions ???

Right click on the desktop and choose new shortcut. Then either type iTunes.exe or search for the program in the drop down menu and then click ok. That shortcut should open iTunes and you can delete the other one.

My contacts in HD are all gone, not sure why this portion of the shadowing of disks didn't work.  Want to transfer the contacts from iphone to new HD.

Did you restore the HD with a copy of the original drive?

  • I purchased audio books from itunes and it does not sync to my ipod classic

After trying to sync a bunch of times I unchecked the sync books under my device and now its not there to check again; How do I get that back also?

Yes it can.  You can configure your iPod to sync audiobooks from under it's Audiobooks tabs in iTunes.  If you want to manually add your audiobooks, you'll need to have your iPod set up for manual management by enabling the Manually manage music and videos option from under your iPod's Summary tab in iTunes.
Here is more information on manually managing your iPod's contents.

  • I can't sync my 160gb iPod Classic to my iTunes library

I have a 160gb Classic iPod. My iTunes library has about 100gb of music. My iPod is set to sync my entire music library. When I connect my iPod and press 'Sync' I get the message 'Syncing - step 1 of 1' and then 'iPod sync is complete' - but there is no music on my iPod. I am running Windows 8.1
    Help, please!

Your welcome. You might also want to make sure the Sync only checked songs and videos option is not ticked from under the iPod's Summary tab.
And just to be sure that you aren't getting any error messages, try resetting your iPod's sync warnings. To do this, plug the iPod in, right->click on it under Devices and select Reset Warnings. Then resync the iPod. This should allow previously acknowledged warnings to appear.

  • Can I sync my old iPod Classic to a new iTunes account (to which I don't have access) without losing my music?wj

I have an old iPod that I haven't used in years with thousands of songs from ripped C.Ds I don't own anymore. I was wondering if there was a way I could sync up my old iPod to a new account without losing my old music so I could put new songs on.
    Any help would be appreciated.

If you are using the same account again, disable autosync in iTunes, set up your account, set up at least one contact and event on your Mac, to be able to merge data during the first sync.
Connect your device, right click on it in the device list and choose "backup". This will back up your device without syncing. Transfer your purchases the same way, to copy all bought media and apps to your new library.
The first sync will erase your device, but you can use the manual created backup to restore your settings and data again.

  • Can't Sync Photos To iPod Classic

I have the last white plastic Imac with the latest version of the Mac OS (10.5.7) and with the latest version of iTunes (8.2).
I just recently tried to sync some photos (for the very first time) to the iPod. When I select the folder where the photos are located and tell iTunes to APPLY (sync), I get an error msg. telling me that iTunes CAN'T find the iPod (though the iPod does indeed show up in the left hand column of iTunes under devices); i.e it's saying that it can't find the iPod though it quite obviously DOES recognize it.
I've wasted a lot of time talking with Apple support who haven't been able to help. I find that Apple tech support and AppleCare tech support is inconsistent. I've wasted hours on the phone with them to ultimately get no (correct) help or to suddenly get a dial tone (the connection is dropped on the Apple end) and I have to call back and START ALL OVER AGAIN....going through Apple's funky voice mail system, etc. and then having to re-explain everything AGAIN from square one. A real pain in the ying-yang.
This is perhaps related to another issue that I've had with the iPod since I've had it and NEVER got resolved through Apple and I have just lived w/ the problem since last Oct; see my msg. from some months back that still remains unresolved.
BTW, I had a scheduled call from an "Apple Expert" yesterday who was supposed to have all the details of the problem (I had gone into detail relating the issue to an Apple Tech the day before and was assured that the expert would be fully up-to-speed when he/she called) but when I got the call I found that the tech had NOT been fully briefed as I was told that the person would be so they were unable to help and hence wasted a greater part of my day scheduling around waiting for the call from the "Expert". Phooey!
    HELP!
    JG

I had the same Problem, very frustrating until you realize what it was. My simple fix was!
    On your IPOD go to
    Settings
    Main Menu
    Photos (probably set to off)
    Turn ON
    Should do it
