Can not sync new songs, when I transferred info from computers took identity of old computer and now I have 2 identities on 1 computer

I can not sync new songs on new computer.  When I transferred info from the old computer to the new one it also took the identity from the old computer
so it says I can not do anything because I currently have 2 identities.

If you have successfully transferred your iTunes library from your old computer to your new one, then go ahead and restore the Nano to factory settings in iTunes on your new PC.  This process will deassociate the iPod with the computer and allow it to start syncing with the new one.

  • How can I sync new songs when 6th generation ipod says syncing is complete but new songs added on itunes are not synced to ipod

my new 6th generation synced fine the first time I added my cd's to itunes.  Thereafter, I added additional cd's which are on itunes but the message I receive is syncing is complete but they do not appear on my ipod.  Only the original cd's are still on the ipod  Any suggestions are appreciated.

Just adding albums to iTunes does not mean they will be added automatically to your iPod. You can set it up that way, but it sounds like you do not.
Under the music tab for the ipod, you can select what music, albums, artists and playlists can be sync'd to your ipod.

My old computer crashed and I can't sync new songs from my new computer to my IPod without erasing all of the existing content on the IPod.  Can new songs be added without erasing?

    Yes by:
Using iPhone, iPad, or iPod with multiple computers
However, you can make this computer the syncing computer by:
    - Transering iTunes purchases to the computer by:
iTunes Store: Transferring purchases from your iOS device or iPod to a computer
    - Transfer other music by using a third-party program like one of those discussed here:
    Copy music
    - For synced photos you need a program like TouchCopy or PhoneView. The do music too.
    - After everything is on the computer connect the iPod to the computer and make a backupo by right clicking on the iPod under Devices in iTunes and select Back Up
    - Restore the iPod from that backup
Note that the backup that iTunes makes does not include synced media like apps, music, synced photos.

You don't. Apps are permanently tied to the ID used to purchase them. Instead of creating a new ID, change the primary email address on your existing ID.

Syncing to a new computer should give you the opportunity to replace the exisiting contents with the new.

  • Can't sync new songs to iPod after hard drive replacement.

A few months ago, I had my hard drive replaced on my Windows Vista laptop. So I backed up all my files including iTunes to an external drive. When the new hard drive was installed I restored the iTunes library back. Yesterday was the first time since the restore that I purchased new music from the iTunes store. I bought 6 new songs. I can see the new songs in the iTunes library but when I sync the iPod the new songs do not transfer over to the iPod. Any ideas on how I can fix this problem? Thanks.

I found the link below and it worked. I added the songs manually.

  • I can not sync the song I deleted in iOS again to my iPhone

I deleted a song from my iPhone 4, in iOS 5.0.1. When I sync this song to my iPhone 4 next time, I can NOT find it any more! I tried to sync the song individually or sync the whole album, but I still can not find the song... I just want to listen to this song agian. How can I sync this song to my iPhone again? Is this a bug for iOS?

Yes, the file extension is M4R.  Does it matter where I save these files on my Macbook?  I then opened them in Itunes and played them.  I did find the Tones folder in Itunes but the Tones or Ringtones tab does not show up when I select Iphone (within Itunes).  When I open the Tones folder in the Library, it is empty.  Thanks in advance for your help.

Unable to sync new songs of touch

What exactly happens when you try to sync?
Was the iPod previous synced to another iTunes library/computer?
Have you successfully synced from this iTunes library/computer before?
Do the songs play in iTunes?

  • I used the migrator utility to transfer music and picture from my old PC and now I have 2 accounts on my new Mac, how can I get back to one account and still have the music and photos transfered ?

I used the migrator utility to transfer itunes and photos from my old PC to my new Mac and ended up with 2 accounts on my new computer. How do I transfer the music and photos and only have the 1 account on the new Mac ?

That's not easy.  The Windows migration tool makes a new user account, and you can't prevent it.
You may be able to transfer what you want manually, but it's not quick or easy.  See Transferring files from one User Account to another.

  • I'VE broked my new iphone 6 with an back up from an iphone 4s on the itunnes and now i have the icloud from that iphone 4s. Please help me

I bought a new Iphone 6 from store. I've connected my icloud adress and apple id. All was great. But the problem is that i connected the iphone 6 on itunes and there i had a back up from my last iphone 4s , that was bought from a friend. And the Iphone 6 did that back up and now I have on my phone another icloud account and I can do nothing, I don't now what to do to restore to factory settings. AND THE IPHONE 6 IS NEW, BOUGHT FROM STORE!!!!! PLEASE HELP ME, WHAT SHOULD I DO?

You don't have to activate the new iPhone with any backup. Just set it up as new and then use Settings > General > Software Update to update it to iOS 8.2. After that completes put the iPhone back into setup mode with Setting > General > Reset > Erase All Content and Settings.
You can now setup your new iPhone and restore it to your current iOS 8.2-based backup.

  • Can't sync new songs from recently-transferred music file on ext HD

I recently moved my Music folder to an external hard drive pursuant to iTunes article 305451, but now I cannot sync my iPod with changes made to my new playlist which has new songs from a CD. I get the following message: "Some of the items," (actually, all) "in the iTunes library including..."(i.e. all the new songs) "were not copied to ... iPod because they could not be found." I created a new path per article 305451 and followed every detail of that document. What am I missing?

I found the link below and it worked. I added the songs manually.

  • My ipod touch 4th generation keeps deleting my music even after restoring it and I can't sync new songs anymore

Hello, I have an iPod touch 4th generation 8GB that I purchased brand new in January 2013. The device is currently running iOS 6.1.6.
It worked perfectly fine until today, when I tried to sync one single song on it.
While i was syncing it, I noticed that on the iPod screen, the song menu begun scrolling without me touching the display, some song titles became white (as when you're syncing a song) or disappeared leaving blank lines, until the music app crashed.
When I opened it again, it said that there where no songs in my library.
I tried copying my music on the iPod again, but it only copied one song, after that when I tried syncing more songs, iTunes kept saying "preparing synchronization" (or something similar) but nothing happened.
I tried restoring the device, and initializing it as a new iPod (without using any backups) and then I started copying my songs on it again.
But after the 15th song, the problem occurred again.
    What can I do?
Is it possible that it's the case of an hardware failure? My photo library wasn't affected, and except for the music problem, my iPod is running fine, it's not even an old device and no accidents even happened to him (like falling on the ground or something like that).
    Any tips?
Thank you in advance for your help!

I'm having the same problem with my 4th gen iPod touch. After the update my iPod synched and wiped all my music off - apps & podcasts weren't affected. Restored it a couple of times and that didn't work.
I tried copying a couple of albums over and it would do a couple of songs then the rest of the album would look like it had copied instantly. I tried playing the songs and it would play the first couple of songs once, then it came up with ! Beside every song (including the ones I'd just played and said they weren't on my iPod.
I've removed iTunes from my laptop and downloaded the few iTunes bought albums over WiFi to my iPod. The rest of my music is from cds or mixes/podcasts downloaded from soundcloud so I've had to use a different program to copy some of this music to my iPod for the time being until I can see how to sort this out.

  • Can't sync new songs without erasing library.

I keep getting a pop up saying that my ipod can only be synced to one computer so when I purchased a new album on my laptop it said I would have to erase my entire library to download my purchases.  Any ideas? I have tried this before so I get my new downloaded music but then it is synced to my laptop and I can't get my old songs back from my old computer.  Any suggestions.

An iPod (except the iPod Shuffle or iPhone) can sync with more than one computer.  You have to select to manually manage your music.  This explains how:  Using iPad or iPod with multiple computers, http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1202

  • Can not sync new purchased apps to iPhone

    Dear Friends
For about a month now any new purchases in iTunes on my computer  will not sync to my iPhone. In the My Phone > iPhone >Apps window I move the new apps onto the iPhone screens.  Then press Apply to sync.  It starts to sync and then on the step (3 I think) - determined tracks to sync, the apps disappear from the iPhone window  and are not added to the iPhone.  I have restored, resetted, restarted, downloaded and reinstalled iTunes etc...  several times and still  I get the same behaviour.  Please does anyone know how I can fix this.
    Thanks in advance

Check Settings>General>Restrictions on your phone to be sure that Installing Apps is set to On.  Also, in iTunes on your computer be sure on the Apps tab of your sync settings that you have checked each of the apps that you want to sync to your phone, and that your computer is authorized for the Apple ID(s) used to purchase them in iTunes>Store>Authorize this computer.
