Can not transfer pictures from iPhoto on my MacBook Air to any of my devices via airdrop.

Can not transfer pictures from iPhoto on my MacBook Air to any of my devices via airdrop.
I have a new iPad Air 2 and a iPhone 5 all running the newest updates and IOS,OS X.
I can airdrop from my iPhone to iPad and vice versa.  But iPhoto on my macbook air does not give me the option via share to airdrop any of my pictures to my phone or ipad.
<Re-Titled By Host>

My MacBook air is a mid 2012. When I go to finder then airdrop it shows me
my iPad and my iPhone but when I go to iPhoto on my MacBook air it doesn't
give me the option to airdrop pictures to them. Not sure why.

  • Can I transfer everything from PowerBook G4 to MacBook Air?

Tried getting a straight answer from calling Apple but got someone who was surprisingly clueless and confused so trying here. Thinking of buying a new MacBook Air, the version just previous to latest one just out. I am simply wondering if it's possible to transfer everything, about 17GB, from my old PowerBook G4 with v10.3.9, to the MacBook Air. There are so few ports on the Air that I am concerned I won't be able to. Last time I did this I used firewire I think? when moving everything from an old G3 powerbook and it worked great. Thanks!
Sorry for duplication of this. Typing on a iPad and I guess I accidentally hit return instead of shift key and not having an edit or delete feature here *****.

In what form is the installation? Bootcamp or VM(virtual machine)?
If it is a VM, then I have some experience there. It is as simple as copying over the VM container file in which the installation resides. The VM software, upon usage of the VM, will ask whether you have moved the installation, to which you would respond, "yes".  Test the installation, then delete the VM from your old machine. Typically the licensing for Windows only would permit you to use it in one place.
p.s. You may have to deactivate some licenses for software on your old machine, then activate them on the Air, e.g. Adobe CS. Make sure you do this BEFORE you delete the VM on your old machine.

  • I have all my old photos from my PC on a Maxtor external hard drive.  How can I transfer them from this to my Macbook Air?

I'd like to transfer my old photos from my PC which are stored on a Maxtor external hard drive to my Macbook Air.  Is there an easy way of doing this?  I don't know if the Maxtor hard drive is Windows specific or if it's compatible with Mac.  Anyone know?

It should be fairly simple.  The Maxtor should be recognized as "read only" since it's formatted for windows.  Connect it and in iPhoto select, iPhoto > File > Import to Library..   > Point to your external hd.

How can I transfer pictures from my MacBook Pro to my iPad mini please?

If you are on iTunes 11 on your Mac then you may want to re-enable the left-hand sidebar via View > Show Sidebar, which might make it easier to navigate and may instructions may make more sense.
To sync photos, connect and select your iPad on the left-hand side of your computer's iTunes (if you've enabled the sidebar), and on the right-hand side there should be a series of tabs, one of which should be Photos - if you select that tab you can then select which photo folders to sync to the iPad. There is a bit more info on this page. You will need to sync all the photos that you want on the iPad together in one go as only the most recent photo sync remains on the iPad - synced photos can't be deleted directly on the iPad, instead they are deleted by not including them in the next photo sync.
If you haven't enabled the sidebar, then from your library click 'iPad' at the top right of the screen and you should get a series of buttons along the top of the screen, including one for Photos

Connect the iPad to your MBP and open iTunes.  In the photos section of your iPad in iTunes you can choose selected albums, Events or the entire iPhoto library to sync to your iPad.

  • How can I transfer pictures from my pc to my ipad

How can I transfer pictures from my computer to my ipad?

Another way. You can use a USB flash drive & the camera connection kit.
Plug the USB flash drive into your computer & create a new folder titled DCIM. Then put your movie/photo files into the folder. The files must have a filename with exactly 8 characters long (no spaces) plus the file extension (i.e., my-movie.mov).
Now plug the flash drive into the iPad using the camera connection kit. Open the Photos app, the movie/photo files should appear & you can import.

how can i transfer picture from old iPod to my computer

Are these pictures on your iPod no longer stored on your PC or in a backup somewhere?  If so, you'll need the help of third party software to assist you with the task of extracting the photos from your iPod to your PC.  Keep in mind that these synced photos are no longer in their full resolution, but instead are scaled down thumbnails of the original.
If you stored these photos in full resolution, see this article for instructions on copying them from your iPod back to your PC.
Use Disk Mode to copy photos from iPod
Once the photos are on your PC again, you can configure them to sync to your iPhone.
