Can not turn on Gobi 3000

Question

Hello @ all. 
I bought a new Gobi 3000 from China with FRU 60Y3257 for my W520. 
But i can´t turn on the Gobi with Fn+F5 Menu, WWAN Button is there - onclick nothing happens.
WLAN Button works normal.
WWAN driver-installation was without any troubles.  
Device-Manager shows all ok - no unknown Devices. 
Before Gobi i had an Ericsson F5521gw inside, it worked. 
Also strange thing is, the Wireless-LED is always on, also when the Hardware-Switch is off. 
That wasn´t so with Ericsson.
Thinkpad is a W520 with Win7 Pro x64 Clean Install.
Gobi Driver is 8awt11ww.
Hotkey Driver is 8jvu10ww.
BIOS is 1.33. 
No ThinkVantage Software installed. 
Same mistake is on T520 - also not only a Problem with my W520...

Hi Martin:
I'm not entirely certain that just because a part is listed in the Hardware Maintenance Manual, it implies that Lenovo will support the part when installed in the field.  What I mean by this is that the primary reference for whether or not an owner can expect support for a part is probably the TA Book, not the HMM.
I think this way because it is possible that during the design process (when the HMM was written), Lenovo might have considered this card as an offering with the machine, but when things got down to the finish line and they actually started building and selling the W520s, they decided to not offer this part - hence the absence of the driver from the DDFM.
My suggestion is that you take a look in the TA Book and see if you can find a configuration that is offered with this Gobi card.  If you do find one, then you have a solid case to put it to Lenovo that they need to supply you with a recommended and approved driver, and they should assist you to get the thing working on your machine. The fact that you bought it aftermarket is, in my opinion, not really relevant, unless of course the part itself is defective, in which case you will need to sort that out between yourself and the part vendor.
Just out of curiosity - what does the Gobi card do that the Ericsson one doesn't?  In other words, what's your motivation for using the Gobi card?
