2)Does web services of odi works with tomcat instead of oc4j

Can the JNLP and the jarred application be on different servers? If so, how would I alter my JNLP file to include the url of the second server?
The reason I ask this is that my app is being uploaded to a shopping cart, to be available for purchase. The problem is that this shopping cart allows ONLY one upload for each item that's available for purchase, and the vendor of my shopping cart say that for security reasons I cannot store files in other places on that server. The problem is that I need the JNLP and the JAR for download. I thought that the simplest solution is to put the JAR on a different server, and in the jnlp specify the URL of the jar. Is that possible? Or, do you see another solution?
I appreciate your help - I REALLY need to take care of this ASAP!

I worked it out! What I did was I changed the jar href and the nativelib href to point to a different server
eg:
changed <jar href="myapp.jar"/>
to
<jar href="http://www.otherserver.com/myapp.jar"/>

1 NodeManager, 1 Admin Server and 2 Managed Servers

Hi All, I'm new in Weblogic and this is my 1st time to post a question on this forum. Would like ask for help from you all above my setup, I'm not sure whether it will work or not. Please find out the scenario below:
Setup:
1 Machine (RedHat Enterprise Linux 5.5)
1 NodeManager
1 AdminServer (Name: APP)
2 Managed Servers (Name: APPLIVE, APPUAT)
Currently I would like to using one NodeManager to control both Managed Servers under 1 machine. When I configure my APP Admin Server and two Managed Servers, i would like to nmEnroll both Managed Servers under one NodeManager but it will overwrite my enroll entries if i enroll 2nd Managed Server.
Is it possible to configure NodeManager to accept both Managed Servers entries? Thanks. :)

Hi Hong,
Following are the few things which you help you understand about NodeManager and nmEnroll
- First of all a Node Manager process is not associated with a specific WebLogic domain but with a machine
- When you run a nmEnroll then you just give "domainDir" and "nmHome" which would then gets the file called "*nm_password.properties*" which contains the encrypted username and password that is used for server authentication and "*SerializedSystemIni.dat*" file.
Example:
nmEnroll([domainDir], [nmHome])
- With above files it also updates the nodemanager.domains file with the domain information which was mentioned in the above command.
Thus when you run the nmEnroll command it would get all the details which it needs to start any managed servers in the same Machine, hence you do not need to run the same commend for each managed servers in the same Machine.

Deployment Server and Essbase Server on different boxes

Hi,We're currently testing Hyperion Essbase 7.1.2 and we were wondering if it was possible to have the Essbase (Analytic) Server on one machine and Deployment Server on a different one. At first sight, it seemed so, so we did just that.Now, we'd like to test our setup by signing on through the ESS command line prompt (on the Deployment Server machine) but seem to miss something since the connection ("signon") is refused. The funny thing is that on the machine on which the Essbase Server is installed, we've also installed the Administration Services: through the Administration Console, we can indeed connect to the Deployment Server and interact with it.So my first question is: is our setup possible (that is, having the Deployment and Essbase servers on distinct boxes)?If so, what is the meaning of all the parameters needed for the "signon" command of the ESS command line prompt?Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.Thanks,A. No. iOS is not designed at this time for multiple account logins. You would be synching over the top of each other.

I don't think so its a problem. I have installed both client and Server on the same machine. I did for both BO as well as DS and neither created any problems.

My requirement is to create a smart collection on one machine and share it with other team members. Is this possible in Bridge CS4.

the collections should be stored in c:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Bridge CS4\Collections\ (hidden folders and it's also different for xp) though i never tried to see if they still work on different machines but they reference the local files so you'll need to have the same files in the same locations on those machines for them to work.

i have issue on loading data in Essbase via sql server , while loading data it was fine and all of sudden i see that i get network error 10054

Can you try limiting the query to return some records? Try adding a where clause and see whether that works?

How can I implement two TCP/IP servers (on two separate machines) and one TCP/IP client (on third machine)

I have an application where I need to send data via TCP/IP from two separate machines to a third machine. The machines are on a local area network connected through a network switch. The data are generated independently through data acquisition by the two independent machines before are sent to the client on third machine. Each machine has one network card. Thanks.

If you have three separate machines, you don't need to use separate ports. They will have three IP addresses.
Remember this rule: TCP connections are EXACTLY like telephone connections.
Have your client open two connections: same port on two different IP addresses.
Each client listens for connections.
After connections are established, you get to decide the protocol: maybe the client should explicitly ask for data, maybe the servers just dump it without being asked. It's up to you.

Run Admin Server with multiple Managed Servers each using different userid?

We currently run separate WebLogic domain instances for each business application in a Unix environment. Each one is created using a unix userid unique to that application and which owns all the files and is used to run the process when that particular WebLogic instance is started up. We have run this way for a while.
I am considering altering our approach to the one that is recommended, i.e. in our Production environment we would run a single Admin instance with numerous managed servers. One issue I'm stuck on is the fact that in our current environment, each application has a different unix userid that owns the files making up the WebLogic domain instance and that WebLogic instance is run under that userid.
I've investigated and experimented using WebLogic 10.3 preview and WebLogic 10.0, but I haven't been able to determine what I have to do to make each managed server's files and processes belong to a different unix userid, if that is even possible.
Is there a way, using the recommended approach, where there is a single Admin instance that has multiple managed servers whose files and processes are owned by different unique, unix userids?
If not, how would you separate access to each of the Managed Servers so that the programmers who maintain them don't have access to Managed Servers that they are not responsible for?

Here is what we want to do. He wants to purchase the 3gs and swap it with my 3g. Is this possible? If so, what do I need to do? These are two different accounts - its not a family plan.

Thanks, I did just that. They said since I'm a premier customer that I had a 30 day buyers remorse policy and they allowed me to upgrade for the difference I paid for the 3G (16GB) and the 3G S (32 GB)!
