If EM cloud control (12c) have not the indicators , Can we progmram to realize the above indicators and save the indicators to EM cloud control database?
If we can do programming to monitor the indicatiors, Is there any development documents to reference?

Oracle PeopleSoft Enterprise Manager Plugin Installation on oem grid control 12c facing error
Hi Friends,
I am planning to monitor Peoplesoft 8.52 HRMS application through oem 12c grid control. First I have installed 12c grid control successfully. Followed by I am installing the Oracle PeopleSoft Enterprise Manager Plugin in 12c oem repository containing 11g database. I am facing configuration assistant error message as below
OUI-25031 some of configuration assistance failed.
Configuration assistant "PeopleSoft Environment Management Repository Plug-in" failed
The "/u01/oracle/cloudcontrol/middleware/oms/cfgtoollogs/configToolFailedCommands" script contains all commands that failed, were skipped or were cancelled. This file may be used to run these configuration assistants outside of OUI. Note that you may have to update this script with passwords (if any) before executing the same.-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Please assist me how shall I proceed further...

Rajesh PachiyappanHi,
I just came across the same problem.
In my case, I hit this issue while trying to reinstall Oracle EMCC 12g.
Since previous installation failed, I decided to start from the beginning again but I am now hitting this.
Before trying to reinstal, I dropped SYSMAN and a few other users created on the provided DB.
Did you solve this issue?
I believe I may have not "clean up" the database properly. Which would be the right way of wiping out the DB without actually rebuild it again?
Thanks

Which? - License for OEM Grid Control or just the additional Packs and Add-Ins?
I took a look at the price list and I wanted to clarify the "Named User Plus". The Diagnostic and Tuning Packs are each shown as $100 for the named user. As a DBA, if I have a named user license for these two management packs, does this mean that I can manage as many databases as needed with these two management packs?
Wow, 25 separate dbcontrols sound like a nightmare.
By the way, our Oracle rep just happened to come here yesterday, and he validated what was said here.
You can install the Grid Control free; you simply un-check the Packs/Add-Ins during the install.
As I understand it, you would install the Grid Control Agent first on each server, then when you install Oracle RDBMS, the Universal Installer will detect the Agent and enable the Grid Control instead of the Database Control.
Then you install the OEM Grid Control repository and software on a separate server, and that is where you manage all of the Oracle RDBMS servers from.
He also said to use the highest version Grid Control Agents on the database servers and repository server and keep the versions of that software in sync, which is separate from the Oracle RDBMS version. -
License for OEM Grid Control or just the additional Packs and Add-Ins?
I have searched the forums and found the link below in a discussion about the Enterprise Manager Grid Control, but nobody answered this question specifically:
Can you freely install and use the Grid Control (with no additional Packs or Add-Ins)? Or does the Grid Control itself require a license?
P.S. The price list linked here only displays prices for Grid Control Packs and Add-Ins:

Thanks and regards,
HemaHallo Hema,
I've just quickly tried myself and have no issues creating such a limited user. Do you have any roles granted on the user? Is the "PUBLIC" role modified in your company to have some permissions granted?
Can you give a quick overview of what information is displayed on the page when you click "View" for the selected user on the Setup -> Administrators page?
Best regards,

What's the correct order to install OEM Grid Control + DB + AS?
Hi everbody! I'm getting start on OracleAS and Grid Control.
What's the correct order to install:
* Enterprise Manager 10g Grid Control
* Database 10gR2
* Application Server 10gR3
(on RHEL4-Upd2)
or the order is not important?
I need have the environment for each oracle software ($ORACLE_HOME, $ORACLE_BASE)? Or install first one, and change the environment and install, change again and install, etc.. ? :)
Tks!Hey Rafael! You only have to use the Grid Control CDS, AS, repository database and grid control software are installed automatically, so you dont have to worry about the order u should have to follow.
Anyways if u have already installed a database u can use that one as a repository.
about the enviorment variables i guess u´ll be prompted for just one only directory cause u only need to install the software only one time.
hope u find this interesting!!

Why can't I control iTunes windowless with the hotkeys?
You can no longer control Playback options while the window is closed while having the program selected.
This is really annoying.
How do I go back to version 9.2 again?you might consider to switch to the Mini Player (cmd-Shift-M) instead of closing the Window. The Mini Player reacts to the play back controls.

Whats the Advantages of OEM Grid control
Hi All,
I would like to know what the term "Grid control" means and whats the advantages of OEM10g Grid Control over OEM 9i....
If anyone has good docuements,Please share the source. It will be highly appriciated.
Thanks in Advance..
AnandOracle Enterprise Manager comes in 3 editions - Database Control, Fusion Middleware Control (also known as Application Server Control) and Grid Control.
Database and Fusion Middleware Control are the base consoles shipped with Oracle Database and Fusion Middleware, respectively.
Grid Control is the full fledge EM that is capable of managing everything from Oracle Database, Fusion Middleware, Siebel, PeopleSoft, Oracle E-Business Suite to 3rd party technologies such as BEA Weblogic, IBM DB2, Microsoft SQL Server, F5 Load Balancer, etc...
In addition to support for more types of technologies, 10g also includes additional capabilities such as service level management, configuration management, provisioning, etc...

The line "skipping bad jar, '/u01/binaries/wls/wls1035_generic.jar'" is the one that's worring me. Can it be corrupt? Or it is something else?
Thanks in advance. Its too early to conclude the issue is a bug with out looking into the logs. For the same reason i requested you to open an SR so that we can have a look at the logs and identify the cause. If you are Oracle employee then you can share the VM details else we need logs to debug this further. If any one from your company can open an sr and share logs then that will be helpful. Can you also check if the shiphome that you downloaded is all correct and checksum/byte matches to what is mentioned on OTN.

What are the Grid Control basic features (without the licensed packages)
Hi everyone,
I'm all new to OEM Grid Control and I've been asked to write a document that sums up and explains all the OEM features (Database ones only).
The reason I created this thread is because I have a problem doing that. Indeed, Oracle insists on their licensed packages in their documentation and doesn't make very clear what's available without any of those packages.
I've been looking for some other documentation than Oracle one but without much success.
I really have to know the features available without those packages because I've been asked to determine whether or not Diagnostic Pack, Tuning Pack and Configuration pack are necessary (i.e If we have to purchase the licenses)
So could anyone tell me precisely what's available without those packages or link me some sources I could use?
Thank you very much in advance
OlivierHi Erika,
Unfortunately, it appears to be true: to be able to get notifications and alerts, you need to have the Diagnostics Pack license. Reference the following document: Oracle Enterprise Manager Licensing Information 10g Release 4 (10.2.0.4.0) Chapter 2: Enterprise Database Management:
The Diagnostics Pack includes the following features, which you can use after purchasing a license for the Diagnostics Pack.
Automatic Workload Repository
Automatic Database Diagnostic Monitor (ADDM)
Performance monitoring (database and host)
Event notifications: notification methods, rules, and schedules
...In the document that you have cited, I think that "standard" and "out of the box" simply mean that Oracle has these alerts and notifications preconfigured for you when you install the software. But to actually use them, you need to have the appropriate license.
Regards,
John P.

OEM GRID CONTROL REMOTE INSTALLATION
Hello Good People,
I am trying to install OEM GRID CONTROL. I have a two RAC node (AIX 5L). I don't have acces to the server so my only option is remote installation.
I was able to ftp the file into a directory on the server but it will not unzip, (error: couldn't find 10g.zp or 10g.ZIP). I uploaded the file as binary.
Okay, I will like to install from my laptop, (xp) using the DVD that I have. I went through the documentation steps below:
1. Make sure that the remote access software is installed and running on the remote and local computers.
2. On the local computer, share the DVD drive.
3. On the remote computer, map a drive letter to the shared DVD drive. You would use the remote access software to do this on the remote computer.
Through the remote access software, run Oracle Universal Installer on the remote computer. You access Oracle Universal Installer from the shared DVD drive.
I am confuse with step 2 downward. How can I map a drive in UNIX or why should I? I am connected to the sever by Telnet.
Any direction or suggestion will be appreciated. Please note that all I want is to remotely install GRID CONTROL on my server from the DVD that I have.
Thanks for your help.......Based on further researched I discovered that the problem is due to the fact that I don't have an X-Window client install on my local machine. I just install a free trial version (30days). OUI finally started and went through the various checks. Although, the check passed I couldn't continue. It is saying missing some files. I will post the erros messages from the log in a while.

Install of OEM Grid Control on 10g RAC
Hi,
I try to install OEM Grid Control 10.1.0.3 on a 10G 10.1.0.2 database with ASM and RAC installed, on windows.
At the step of choosing the product to install, i would like to choose 'OEM GC using an existing database' or 'Additional management service 10.1.0.3', but it fails.
The reason is 'you cannot install OEM on a hardware cluster'.
I have no idea how to resolve that, do i have to change my RAC installation ?
thank you for your answer,
IsabelleTo install on RAC, you install using an existing database and then specify the sid/hostname for ONE instance in the RAC.
Once the management repository has been sucessfully installed and the mid-tier is up, you can edit emoms.properties to modify the JDBC url the application uses to connect to the database to be RAC aware.
The are a number of pre-installation requisites for an existing database to be used as a destination for a repository installation, there are both documents on metalink on the subject and the basic installation guide references pre-requisites for existing databases. -
