How can one specify that multiple windows open (each with its own web page(s) ) when Firefox starts?

I am on Firefox 15.0. I would prefer not to open multiple tabs to get multiple web sites up when Firefox is started. Instead, I prefer multiple windows. Some might have one tab, some might have several. For example, one window might have Gmail, another might have several different web pages related to weather, and another might simply have Google, and another Yahoo, and another, Orbitz. Since there may be five or six of these windows, with multiple web pages, perhaps 20 in toal, tabs get cluttered, and I don't prefer them anyway. I have plenty of memory and processing power.
Interestingly enough, if Firefox crashes, it allows you to restart with the pages it thinks you would want. It would be great to have a Start Firefox option similar to that!

You can reopen the windows and tabs from the previous session.
You can also use command line switches with a bash script or a modified Firefox desktop shortcut ant use -new-window -url <URL> to open a page in a new window.

Can one *exclude* certain subdirectories from showing up in the library?

In my music folder I have a subdirectory where I have a large collection of sound snippets collected over time which I occasionally use for system sounds and other fun effects. These sound only have file names and no tags and I would like to exclude them from being added to the music library since they just clutter up the list.
Can one do that somehow? Can one place some hidden "do not include" marker in the directory or something like that?
I know of course, that I could simply move that directory out of the music folder, but IMHO it somehow belongs there. It just shouldn't show up in the iTunes music libaray...

You must have the preference for "Keep iTunes folder organized" turned on.
NEVER! This option once scrambled my very well organized MP3 collection into a pile of rubbish and it took me hours to get it back into reasonable shape again!
That option was checked by default (and without giving the slightest warning during installation!) in one of the earlier versions of iTunes for Windows.
To have that option set by default (BTW: only in the windows version!) IMHO was just one of those typical signs of Apple's attitude of "we know better than those dumb Windows users, so let's clean up their (presumed) mess along the way...".
The resulting disaster and the effort to clean it up was enough reason for me to refuse to use iTunes for years! And also now, I am mainly using for podcasts, since that's an area, that iTunes handles indeed quite nicely. Maybe its use may over time also convince me to use it for music.
So: NO, that option I will never set on again! It's a pity, if that might have the side effect, that those unwanted files might show up in the library again. Although, when I just checked again, that didn't happen. So, maybe they found a better solution to memorize that "deletion".

iPhone mirrors the content of your accounts. You can turn off that account by going to Settings > Mail, Contacts, Calendars > account > turn off mail. Then access your email account via webmail/website and delete them there. Once you turn on the account again in your iPhone it wont download them all. Otherwise to leave it downloading then mark them all read once downloaded.

I can't delete them. I've tried unticking all the music that was on the ipod via itunes and re-syncing, which in theory should delete all music from my ipod. It does except for the 5 ghost songs.   So at present I have no music on ipod except the 5 ghost songs.   Has anyone got any ideas how I can get rid of these?

You can access, usually under the Apple (icon) menu in the main desktop
window, note item with name "About this Mac" & click on that, to see more
information about your computer, its OS X version, and other. The system
version and build model are there. Do not post a serial number.
If you are setting up Mail in a Mavericks OS X 10.9.x system, there often
is access to information in the Help viewer from the main menu bar, or
in an open mail application. If you have a Gmail or other account, that
info is often on their home page where setup and help are located.
The settings of each email account may vary according to their provider;
so you would have to change your computer to accept them. An older

While that may not answer your question, you could use the info in
your Mac OS X system Help viewer and use its search; or maybe
a Spotlight search to see an answer online.
You have to learn some basic things in order to actually use these...
and it helps to expand that so you won't have to pay for tech service
on things you can do yourself in a few minutes, beyond easy stuff.
Of course, you're hearing this from a guy with no ISP email, ever.
So mine are web-mail only; & I never save email to a computer.

You don't mention anything about the music files on your computer that were used to copy into iTunes. If you have moved those files to a different location on you PC you will get that error message from iTunes. This is because iTunes will look for the music files in the original location that they came from on your PC when they were copied. If this is the case you have to tell iTunes to look in the new location for the music files or move the music files back to the original location.

Another easy way to fix this.
What I've noticed is that upon upgrading your projects and events to work with iMovie 10, initially it will work... Until you quit iMovie and reopen it again. Any events with hashtags will show up without the star next to the iMovie event. SO, if you happen to read this, after upgrading to iMovie 10 from its predecessor, immediately change the event name to NOT include a hashtag/pound symbol.
Otherwise, if it's too late, you can either do the above or this...
Hold down option and click on iMovie. This will prompt you Locate, Create a New Library, Cancel this window, or Choose a different library. What you want to do is create a new library, call it whatever you want to, this will only be temporary. After the program opens, it should be a blank Library. Then go to File > Open Library > iMovie Library (your original library) and proceed to change the name of your events. Quit the program. Go into your Movies folder in Finder, delete the library you temporarily created, and your back in business.
