Can one have multiple iCloud Apple IDs?

Hello.
Would I automatically lose my current iCloud Apple ID if I signed up for a new one? And if the answer is ‘No’, what is the maximum number of iCloud email addresses that one can have?

You can create a new Apple ID and then iCloud account without affecting the original one. You can sign into additional iCloud accounts in System Preferences>Mail, Contacts & Calendars so that the data appears alongside the primary account.
No limit to the number of accounts created this way has been stated, however any one Mac or device can create only three iCloud accounts (though once the limit is reached they can sign into another account created on another Mac or device). The three-account limit is tied to the hardware, not the user account, and cannot be bypassed.
Of course if all you want is additional addresses you can create three 'email aliases' on any one account - these are not accounts but extra addresses, messages to which are delivered to the same inbox as the primary address. More on aliases here - http://help.apple.com/icloud/#mm6b1a490a
Note that once you have created an alias it cannot be moved to another account nor turned into an ID, even after deletion.

    Welcome to the Apple Community.
No, your ID is essentially your account. You can have email aliases and you can have multiple accounts, but I don't think that's what you are asking.

Can I have multiple icloud email addresses. i.e. one for me one for my wife?

You can if you create two iCloud accounts.  Each iCloud account is only given a single email account.  (You can have additional email alias addresses, but they will still deliver incoming email to the same email account and inbox.)

can I have multiple icoud accounts on one device (ipad)?

Are you sure only primary account can use Find my iPhone?
I added a secondary account to my daughters iphone and was able to use it for Find my iPhone.
It warns you that the Find my iphone service will be disabled on the other icloud account.
I think this is a good change so I can use a single account to track all the devices.
Looks like only photostream and documents/data are tied to the primary account.

  • Can I have multiple iCloud accounts?

If I can have multiple iCloud accounts, where and how do I set the up?  I cannot find the option under the iCloud settings in system preferences.  I have a personal and two different work emails with calendars I would like to sync.

I believe if you go to Mail, Contacts, Calendars you can set up another iCloud account, but I believe you can only sync data between one account at a time.
You can set up two iCloud accounts separately for iCloud mail and syncing and another for iTunes Purchases, and Apple has an article out for this: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4895

  • HT4865 How can I have multiple icloud email accounts using the same rescue email account.

I have several Iphones for my business for managers to use.
I would like to set them up to send me the recovery emails but it seems only one icloud address can do that.
Is it possible to have multiple icloud email accounts using the same - seperate recovery email address?

Unfortunately, you cannot change your primary @me.com or @icloud.com email address, you could however create an alias or create a completely new account.

  • HT204053 can I have multiple icloud accounts for one apple id?

I have multiple people in my family using our original apple id .  As they have gotten iphones, macbooks, etc they register there devices under our originale apple id.  over the holidays when my youngest child got her ipod touch and registered it for icloud, two of the children now are seeing each others texts?  Is there a way to use the same apple id for the family and have seperate icloud accounts for each person or should we have a seperate apple id for each person?

Yes but the issue with receiving each other's text messages is not being caused by sharing the same iCloud account.  To fix this, each person needs to be using a separate Apple ID for iMessage on their devices.  (Note: you can continue to use the same iTunes account on all your devices but each person should use a different ID for iCloud, iMessage and FaceTime).  There are a couple of things you need to do to sort all this out.
First decide who will be keeping the current ID for all services.  On the device(s) belonging to the other people in your family, go to Settings>Messages>Send & Receive, tap the Apple ID, sign out, then sign back in with a saparate ID for each person.  After doing so you will no longer be getting each other's messages on your devices.
Next, to avoid getting each other's FaceTime calls, do the same thing in Settings>FaceTime.
For iCloud, to avoid having merged data by syncing with the same iCloud account you will need to migrate each person to their own iCloud account.  To do this, first decide who will be keeping the current account.  On the other devices go to Settings>iCloud, scroll to the bottom and tap Delete Account.  (This will only delete the account from the device, not from iCloud.  The device(s) that will be keeping the current account will not be effected by this.)  When prompted about what to do with the iCloud data, be sure to select Keep On My [iDevice].  Next, set up a new iCloud account using a different Apple ID on the device(s) belonging to each person.  Then turn iCloud data syncing for contacts, etc. back to On, and when prompted about merging with iCloud, choose Merge.  This will upload the data to the new account.
Finally, to un-merge the data in your iCloud accounts you will then have to go to icloud.com on your computer and sign into each iCloud account separately and manually delete the data you don't want (such as deleting the other person's contacts from your account, and vice versa).

  • Can you have multiple iCloud email addresses?

How many iCloud email addresses can I have for one apple id?

You can only have a single iCloud email account for each iCloud Account (ID).  You can add up to three email alias address to the account, but they will all receive email in the same inbox.  This explains more about alias addresses: http://help.apple.com/icloud/#/mm6b1a490a.

  • Can I have multiple ICloud accounts sync to one computer?  Strictly looking to have 2 photostreams save to one computer.

My wife and I both have Iphones and Ipads but seperate Icloud accounts.  I would like to utilize the photostream capabilites of the icloud desktop client to view pictures on our home pc and back them up.  Is there anyway to do this? will this be added in the future?
    thanks,

    update to this question...
I can't turn on automatic downloads on my iTunes as it is already associated with my account and if I chang it to hers, then I can't change it again for 90 days  :-(  so bascially, I guess while I can have two accounts authorised on my computer, so that it can play music videos etc... there is no easy way to get this content between my computers.
So bascially back to where I was when I used to try and use Syncopation and various other products to get music purchases synced between all computers - it never worked very well, tried various products etc but not really much luck and no help with books, apps etc...
I really do not think that Apple has though thru multi person/family support in the iTunes store and frankly getting pretty fed up with it.
They have limited it to 5 computers, I don't see why there have to be these additional restrictions all the time, or why they won't fold two accounts into one.
It's starting to look like £10 per month for Spotify premium may be a better deal now that you can download music from there...  I spend a lot on the iTunes store but I am going to have to rethink that if there isn't an answer to easily allow my wife and I to share what we purchase.

  • Can one have multiple e-mail addresses in iCloud?

My family shares one apple ID for purchases.  This also works wonderfully for syncing our calendars with iCloud.  However, I have one e-mail address and my wife has another.  Is it possible to create two @me accounts and sync them across all of our devices with iCloud?  Limiting e-mail to one e-mail address seems a little short-sighted.

I looked into using aliases as you mentioned and I think there is a workable solution here.  I created two new folders "My inbox" and "wife inbox" and then created two rules that say when the e-mail is addressed to [email protected], move it to my inbox and when it's addressed to [email protected], move it to wife inbox.  I think this will do nicely.     Thanks, again!

  • If we share one iTunes account can we have multiple iCloud accounts?

My children and I share one iTunes account.  Can each one of us have our own iCloud account.  We upgreaded the IOS and my daughter ended up with my contacts and hers.  She deleted mine and now they are all gone.  I want to avoid this issue in the future.

First decide which device(s) will keep the existing account.  On the others all you have to do is go to Settings>iCloud and tap Delete Account, then set up a new account with a new ID and turn iCloud syncing for your data back to On.  When prompted, choose merge.  Deleting the accout will only remove it from the device, not from iCloud.  The device(s) that will continue to use the existing account will not be effected by this.
However, if any of the devices is still syncing data with the account, before deleting the account you must go to Settings>iCloud and turn syncing to Off, and when prompted, choose to keep the data on the device (otherwise it will be deleted from the device when you delete the account), the set up the new account, turn syncing back to On, and when prompted, choose merge to upload the data to the new account.
After each device has it's own account, if you have any merged data in any of the accounts you will need to go to icloud.com, sign into them separately and manually delete the unwanted data.

  • Can I have 2 different apple ids on I pad?

I have had an Ipad for a while now and have recently upgaded my phone from a sony to an iphone 5c. The apple id on both devices are the same. Can I open another apple id so my husband and I can facetime each other?

Yes you can. But if you share and ID for purchases, just keep using that same ID. Do not use the new ID for purchases. Purchases are always tied to the ID. That was used to make the purchases and cannot be transferred to another ID.
However, you can set up FaceTime to use email addresses and you don't need to use another Apple if you don't want to set another one up.
    Take a look at this.

  • Hey, does anybody know how can i have two different apple ids on my mac imessages, because i have two mobile phones with different ids and i would like to be able to send imessages from both accounts on my mac. Tnx

Hey does anybody know how to set up 2 apple ID on mac imessages? Because i have 2 different iphones and i would like to send imessages fron both accounts on my mac...

Associate your mobile numbers with your Apple ID, if you haven't already done so.
Sign out of iMessage on the Mac:
Messages ▹ Preferences ▹ Accounts ▹ Sign out
    and on the iPhone:
Settings ▹ Messages ▹ Send & Receive ▹ Apple ID ▹ Sign out
    Then, on the phone, tap
Use Your Apple ID for iMessage
Sign back into iMessage on both devices and test. If there's no change, you may have to wait for a change in network conditions.

  • HT201320 Can you have two icloud mail accounts?

Can you have multiple icloud email accounts?

I gather you have created a second account. You can sign in with this in System Preferences>Mail, Contacts and Calendars and check Mail there. This account will appear alongside the 'primary account' (the one signed in in System Preferences>iCloud) - however you won't get 'push' email, it will be checked periodically.
