The easiest situation, is where this year's worth of images is grouped physically inside one parent folder (something many people build in from the start, in any case).
If there is a parent folder on disk, but you are not currently seeing that inside LR's Folders panel, you can make this visible to LR by right-clicking on one of the folders which live immediately inside that, and selecting "show parent folder". This gives you a single "handle" by which to manipulate the whole grouping.
Then it is just a matter of moving this parent folder. It's usually as simple as dragging it from one place to another inside LR's Folders panel, however this is a little more difficult when it's a question of another drive which does not yet appear there.
So an alternative method will likely prove more straightforward: physically move the whole year folder into the other drive using your operating system's Explorer/Finder. The folder (and subfolders, and all the contained images) will change with ? icons inside LR, and it all goes "offline". This is because LR's records of where everything is, are known not to currently work (the former location is now not available). But all the edits, thumbnails, keywords, collections etc are still in place because these things are still remembered in the Catalog - and the fullsize previews are still cached also.
Then right-click on the parent folder in LR's Folders (the top folder which shows a "?") and select Update Folder Location. Then browse to the other disk and identify where this folder is now to be found. LR updates all its records and the whole grouping carries on just as before, only using a new storage location for each image concerned.

Try this general troubleshooting procedure:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete the contents the following folder: User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto
3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: For Mavericks and Yosemite, go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:
where you can check the Show Library Folder checkbox.

1. Use extended monitor.
2. Open Photoshop Elements. Make sure following option is checked:
Edit>Preferences>General: Allow Floating Documents in Expert Mode
3. Create a new floating document and drag it to the second monitor.
Start working on the first monitor(having PSE) with canvas on second monitor....

About 18 months ago I switched the HDD in my mid 2009 MBP for an SSD and replaced the optical drive with a larger HDD for storage, which I then moved my home folder onto (though of course not the library folder).
This weekend the HDD got corrupted and I had to do a full erase/restore through time machine, and until I had reformatted the HDD I could not even log in. Once I had erased it I could log in again, but although the old library folder still exists on the boot SSD, it has replaced the (of course now missing until my TM restore is complete) home folder with a new one on the HDD and set up a new default library folder.
I could copy the old library files into the new folder, but I'd prefer to have the library on the SSD, so what I want to know is how would I get OSX to recognise the old library? Or if I just updated the new one, could I move it?
I know moving the library is a bit of a minefield, so I'm hoping one of you can help!

You should leave the Library folder that is at top-level on the Boot drive right where it is.
The ~/Library (in your user_Id) folder should be moved off the Boot drive with the rest of your User files if you choose to move the Home folders.

Shouldn't do. But if there is Back Up and try rebuild the library: hold down the command and option (or alt) keys while launching iPhoto. Use the resulting dialogue to rebuild. Note the option to check and repair library permissions.

I think my best recourse is to switch to an email service provider that conforms to the IMAP standard (which Gmail does not). Assuming I find one, I will have both accounts, Gmail and the new one, in Mail.app. How can I move the mail from Gmail to the other account?

1. Quit iPhoto
2. Copy the iPhoto Library Folder as an entity from your Pictures Folder to the External Disk.
3. Hold down the option (or alt) key while launching iPhoto. From the resulting menu select 'Choose Library' and navigate to the new location. From that point on this will be the default location of your library.
4. Test the library and when you're sure all is well, trash the one on your internal HD to free up space.

Aligning a layer relative to another layer with an Action

I was wondering if there is a way to get a layer to align itself underneath another layer.
Example:
Layer 1 is text: NEW YORK
Layer 2 is text: YANKEES
NEW YORK is where I want it at the top of the design.
YANKEES is way at the bottom.
I click on the action and it moves YANKEES to a set position right underneath NEW YORK to look like this:

... then batch would open the next PSD file and it would repeat the process, moving BULLS underneath CHICAGO making

the align tool works fine for things like centering, moving to top, etc during an action. However, what I am trying to do in batch is align something like YANKEES underneath NEW YORK and then use a batch process to duplicate this on several designs.
HOWEVER, what ends up happening, is that the move tool action will move the layer but it remembers the original distance... in other words in the next design, CHICAGO will overlap BULLS or DODGERS will be to far away from LOS ANGELES. Because the size of the CHICAGO, NEW YORK, LOS ANGELES, etc changes.
Any help is appreciated!!!

You could use "Data Driven Graphics" and set place holders for the two text layers.
Other than that a script is your best bet. The following script will look for two text layers within the document and place the bottom text five pixels below the top text keeping them left aligned.
N.B. Only two text layers are supported.

I want to move Photo Layer above Draw Layers, however, it just couldn't move.
Is Photo Layer can only be put in the bottom?

In Adobe Draw, the photo is locked to the bottom - I treat it like a drawing guide or reference layer.
If you want to create additional collage pieces, you might want to think about using Draw & Sketch together.
Here's a workflow:
In Draw, upload your image to your CreativeCloud library (or sync to CC);
Launch Adobe Photoshop Sketch, create a new project and ADD the image;
(you can go back and forth, adding layers of illustrations)
Finish in Photoshop for more finesse
Once your piece is finished in Photoshop Sketch, you can send it directly to Photoshop CC. Although Sketch doesn't give you an indication of the layers, it preserves the layers that you've added as separate elements. Photoshop remembers the discreet layers and allows you to continue working on them.
Hidden feature? Maybe. But definitely worth investigating. Plus: Transfer Modes (my favorite)
