Can Only Import 4 Songs At A Time!!???

i can't select all the songs from an album and import them like i used to on my old version of iTunes..this new one only allows me 4 at a time...anyone else having this problem?

hmmmm. perhaps also check to see if you can get a full import if you switch off error correction, as per the following document:
You can't import or play music from an audio CD in iTunes for Windows
(that's an old graphic for iTunes 4.x in that document ... you'll find your error correction control in your "Advanced-Importing" preferences subtab.)

Can only import one song at a time from a CD, then get conversion error.

I have been using iTunes for several years to import tracks from CDs. Until now I have not really experienced any problems - though I have not had need to do so for some time. I have just tried importing a few new CDs and am experiencing the following problem.
a) First track is imported OK.
b) iTunes gets about half way through the second track and then errors with this message:
"Error occurred while converting file "<track_name>". An unknown error occurred (-1303)."
...followed by:
"The iTunes Library File cannot be saved. An unknown error occurred (13010)."
Note:
1. The first track is saved in the media folder OK.
2. The library file (iTunes Library.xml) is being still being updated with the new track each time.
3. I can resume importing the CD with the track that has just failed and it will import OK, but the next track will fail as above.
4. The same issue occurs regardless of the the format to which I am converting (I've tried both mp3 and AAC so far).
I am using the latest available version of iTunes for Windows (11.1.3.8).
I am using Windows 7 64-bit.
I have checked the web for similar instancves of this problem but without success.
Any ideas??

i haven't yet found out why this is happening.. but i have found a way to start adding lots of songs at one time..
in my case, i am adding from my music folders in my C drive.. so i open the folder using 'my computer' and select all the music i want by holding the Ctrl key.. then i make the music folder window smaller and then put my itunes page back up.
while the music folder window is showing on top of the itunes window page, i press control again and click on one of the highlighted songs (which then picks up all the others i have highlighted) and drag them on top of the word LIBRARY (not MUSIC) until it lights up, this then adds my big group of songs to my library in itunes, then i just right click on my ipod section and press sync.
i have a new ipod 30gb and am using the new itunes 7
i never had this problem with my old ipod mini or the itunes version that came with that

So I just updated to Itunes 7.0. And I used to be able to upload a bunch of songs at a time to my Library. Now it only allows me to do it one at a time. I've tried to do 3 or 4 but then nothing shows up in my Library!

ITunes tells me "Could not be used because the original file could not be found. Would you like to locate it?" I can locate it and all my other music, but can only open one song at a time. How do I set it to open all my music whenever I want it?

I just spent several hours dealing with this when switching to a new PC. It was extremely frustrating as I knew my files were on my external HD but no matter how many times I copied my old iTunes folder over the files were still missing...because dummy me had forgotten to "unhide folders" on my new PC and my old files were actually stored in a hidden folder created long long ago.
This is how I did it on Windows 7 with iTunes 10
1. Look in iTunes Advanced Preferences to see where iTunes is saving files. (Edit, Preferences, Advanced)
Example: C:/Users/Woildbill/My Music/iTunes/Music
2. Ensure you are able to see hidden files - Control Panel, Folder Option, View, Show Hidden Files
3. Use Your Computer's Search Function to Locate the Missing File (Start, Search, type name of song - I started my search in "My Music" folder but be sure to expand to entire Computer if not found right away)
4. In Search Results, right-click found folder and select properties. This will tell you where the file is actually stored.
5. Use Windows Explorer (right-click start) to navigate to the location of the file. It is likley your other missing files are in the same location.
6. In Windows Explorer, copy the newly located files to the iTumes location from Step 1 and everything should work again.

When I try and play a album it will only play 1 song at a time? I can't find where to change this setting. Any help would be appreciated.

I can only add 5 songs at a time on itunes!

Every time i need to put a lot of songs in itunes, i highlight the whole folder that i need to add to my library, it doesnt go into itunes, so i tried highlighting only 10 songs, then 7, then 5 and all five go in! it only lets me put in around 5 songs at a time! I have to then go back and put 5 more in and it ****** me off! How do i put more then 5 songs in at the same time, especially since i started from scratch and need to put all 2,300 songs that i have?

Make a folder. Put the files you want to add to iTunes into the folder. In iTunes use the add folder option under the file menu. Select the folder you created.

I can only import bookmarks one at a time?

When I navigate to my favorites folder it only lets me select one at a time? I have hundreds to import. How can I do the whole folder??? Control/select & shift/select won't work to select the list.
My old computer was backed up online including favorites. I downloaded them onto the new computer but firefox won't let me select more than one at a time with either the import or restore functions.

Export the Favorites in IE to an HTML file and import that file in Firefox.

Can only play one song at a time!

Hi,
Having a bit of trouble with iTunes. when i press play on a song or album, it plays the song, but then dosent move onto the next song. it just reverts back to the Nothing Playing screen.
Recently d/l iTunes 8.2
Any ideas???

Are there check marks beside all the songs in the list? Unchecked songs have to be clicked on individually to play them, checked songs will play one after the other. If you hold down the CRTL key and click beside any song in your list then all the check boxes can be toggled on or off: iTunes - Keyboard Shortcuts for Windows

My iPod only plays one song at a time

I don't store any music on my iPod - only music videos. They all play fine, and they're stored as properly tagged music video files under Menu->Videos->Music Videos. After I first synced them from my PC, I noticed that they also all appear under Menu->Music as songs. I can play them all just fine, either by selecting one through Menu->Videos (in which case it plays as a video) or by selecting one though Menu->Music, in which case it plays as a regular song with a little picture displayed instead of the video.
So far, so good.
The only problem is, I can only play one song at a time. I navigate through the menu, select either a song or a video, and the iPod will play that just fine, get to the end, and then bring up the menu again.
How can I get it to play the one I select, and then just play other random songs? It makes no difference whether or not 'shuffle' is selected, it still only plays one then stops. Also, putting the songs in a playlist doesn't seem to make any difference.
Any advice gratefully received.

Are you sure you don't have Shuffle on? There are a couple of ways to Shuffle on a 5th Gen. iPod. You can't simply choose Shuffle Songs from the Main Menu and shuffle the entire library...or you can go to Settings > Shuffle and choose Songs or Albums and apply that to any playlist you select. The behavior you describe is what happens when Shuffle is turned on and items are set to Skip When Shuffling (an option found on the tracks under Get Info). If Shuffle is on, you should see the little green crossed arrows in the upper right of the iPod window.

Try this general troubleshooting procedure:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete the contents the following folder: User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto
3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: For Mavericks and Yosemite, go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:
where you can check the Show Library Folder checkbox.

Only Plays One Song at a Time ???

I'm trying to listen to albums in my library but iTunes will only play one song at a time, very annoying to have to down arrow and click play after every song. How can I make iTunes play through my library without stopping?
I'm using iTunes 10.1 (54) and YES all the songs are checked.

I disabled the Ping drop-down from the Terminal with:
defaults write com.apple.iTunes hide-ping-dropdown -bool TRUE
and viola! Now my library plays without stopping after just one song. Not sure why this fixed my problem but it did? I guess it's just another reason to get rid of Ping!

ITunes can only perform one thing at a time

Ever since updating to the latest version of iTunes on my dual core mac mini, iTunes can only perform one task at a time beach balling the entire time. For example if it is downloading a podcast, and I try and watch something off my apple tv via home sharing on this library, it fails to load. Same thing if it is syncing my iPhone.
Importing new media into my library also seems to take much longer than it did before, for instance importing a 700mb movie takes ~20 hours.
What can cause such a degrade in performance?

Back up your drive now. Slow copying may be one sign a drive is about to fail, because it is having to repeat a lot of actions many times.
What does Disk Utility say about the SMART status in get info? Have you verified the hard drive with DU's first aid?

ITunes only plays one song at a time

After much toing and froing on my new computer, I now have all my songs re-imported into the library. However, iTunes will now only play one song at a time: after it plays one song it just halts; the forward arrow is just greyed out. Any ideas would be most welcome!

Try checking all of those little boxes. To check all at once, hold ctrl while checking one.
