Can only load 100 songs

I have a new Nano and a new PowerBook. I transfered my iTunes library from my iMac G4 onto my PowerBook iTunes. Later, when I tried to load my library (which is only about 900 songs) onto my Nano, it told me it was too full and would only automatically load about 100+ songs. My library says I have less than 4GB. I even removed ALL the songs from my Nano and it still says I have used 3.2 GB on my iPod with only 537.2 MB of free space. HELP!!! Why is my Nano showing so much used disc space? And, how do I clear it of this?

Randy, what format & bitrate did you use to import your music into your iBook? If you used an uncompressed format, high bitrate or both, this may be we you can't get your complete library onto your Nano.

  • Can only load 38 songs on 1GB Nano... what's the deal?

Capacity is supposed to be approximately 240 songs... I can only get 38 songs loaded. All songs are around 4 minutes and all 128kpbs?? What now?

How much hard disk space do those 38 tracks take up in iTunes?
Perhaps you could try a Restore on your iPod and try to sync again.

  • Can only load 54 songs

My daughter got an Ipod Nano and we can only get 54 songs on it. We have tried resetting it, uninstalling and reinstalling everything. Everything we could read about. Is it defective or are we just missing something?
    Thanks.

    Hello Demery
fisrt off all, how many GB is your ipod?
    4GB- 1000 songs
    2GB- 500 songs
    1GB- 250 songs
The songs are rated as an AAC file audio (AAC Format), at 128 KBs, 4 minute long. Check if your songs are AAc format. If not, convert them by right clicking it > convert to AAC.
    Hope this help!
If it does not work,. post back

  • Can only load 25 songs to shuffle

Hi, I can only sync a max of 25-30 songs to my shuffle. If I try to add more, I get a message that there is no "room" left. How can this be for only 25 songs? Any suggesstions? Thanks, Kelly

You probably ripped these songs from a CD in WAV or AIFF format and they are 40 - 50 MB in size each.
Set iTunes preferences to import CDs using AAC 128 and you'll be able to get many more songs on the Shuffle. You can use iTunes to convert the ones you have.

  • HT1711 I have all of my music loaded into iTunes and now I can only play iTunes songs.  Can anyone tell me why?

I have all of my music loaded into iTunes but can only play the songs that I bought through iTunes.  Am I doing something wrong or can I only use the iTunes player for iTunes music?

From my post on what seems like the same issue (found here: https://discussions.apple.com/message/21087892#21087892)
    Take the following steps:
    1) while connected to wifi, toggle off then back on the Show All Music and iTunes Match options shown in my original post. Important: I did this step before, but wasn't connected to wifi, and my music disappeared. Subsequently, I connected to wifi and turned off and then back on those options and everything came back though it was grayed out and my only option was to download music.
    2) To get streaming over cellular back, go into Settings>General>Cellular and scroll down to the "Use Cellular Data for:" options and make sure the iTunes option is set to 'On'
The above steps will bring back the streaming capability which seemed to go away when you update to 6.1. It didn't ACTUALLY go away, but something about the update toggled off the iTunes option in step 2 above.
I did a final test by turning off wifi, opening Music app and selecting a song. It played successfully without downloading! Crossing my fingers, but I think I'm good to go!
    Hope this helps!

Its strange because I had 290 or so loaded and they got deleted by mistake. Now for some reason I can only load 149? Any ideas???

I just spent several hours dealing with this when switching to a new PC. It was extremely frustrating as I knew my files were on my external HD but no matter how many times I copied my old iTunes folder over the files were still missing...because dummy me had forgotten to "unhide folders" on my new PC and my old files were actually stored in a hidden folder created long long ago.
This is how I did it on Windows 7 with iTunes 10
    1. Look in iTunes Advanced Preferences to see where iTunes is saving files. (Edit, Preferences, Advanced)
         Example: C:/Users/Woildbill/My Music/iTunes/Music
    2. Ensure you are able to see hidden files - Control Panel, Folder Option, View, Show Hidden Files
    3. Use Your Computer's Search Function to Locate the Missing File (Start, Search, type name of song - I started my search in "My Music" folder but be sure to expand to entire Computer if not found right away)
    4. In Search Results, right-click found folder and select properties. This will tell you where the file is actually stored.
    5. Use Windows Explorer (right-click start) to navigate to the location of the file. It is likley your other missing files are in the same location.
    6. In Windows Explorer, copy the newly located files to the iTumes location from Step 1 and everything should work again.
    Hope this helps!

  • Can only load Norton Identity Safe in one Firefox window.

I can only load Norton Identity Safe in one Firefox window. I used to be able to open up my Identity Safe and log in on any open window. Now it only opens in the first Firefox window I open, but not in any others. Can I fix this problem ?

    Hi,
You can try deleting [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Localstore.rdf localstore.rdf] and [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Sessionstore.js sessionstore.*] files in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder profile folder] after exiting Firefox. To open the profile folder via Firefox: '''Help''' ('''Alt''' + '''H''') > '''Troubleshooting Information''' > '''Show Folder'''.
[http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder & Files]
Please note that deleting the sessionstore.* files would also forfeit the open tabs so you may want to bookmark them. You can '''Bookmark All Tabs''' by right-clicking on a tab. For the [https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/what-are-app-tabs?s=tab+group&r=2&as=s App tabs] you would have to bookmark them individually.
If the problem persists, the [http://community.norton.com/t5/Norton-Toolbar-Norton-Identity/bd-p/Toolbar_IDSafe Norton support] would also be helpful regarding any new issues in the toolbar functionality.

  • HT203234 Can´t load my songs in Garageband with my ipad2

Can´t load my songs in Garageband with my ipad2, i think garageband needs a important update. After i record all channel in my Song, garageband complettly crashed and i must restart Garageband after crash. Every Song i produced are not loadeable, please check that problem. I love to produce songs with Garageband, that a important problem, if this problem doesn´t crack the case, never use Garageband again... Or i did buy a demo Garageband for my ipad 2 for 4.99 euro .... :-(

I Also had a similar problem except i can play my music on itunes 7.4 but not on the new version of itunes. all it does when i open itunes is it bounces up and down and then quits by itself. so i deleted the new itunes and loaded back the old one and it worked perfectly fine.

  • When my iphone4 is under the locked mode, ipod can only play two songs at most, and then the system collapses

When my iphone4 is under the locked mode, ipod can only play two songs at most, and then the system collapses, the screen is black and responds to no commends,  not until I restart the machine. but the ipod function can work well under the normal mode, is it any hardware problem? thank Q!!

    Do you mean crashes?
Try doing a full reset. otherwise it sounds like you might want to walk it into the nearest Apple Store and get an opinion there.
    Good luck in any case.

  • Can only load a limited number of songs at a time

this is a brand new issue no my ipod video that has me worried the hard drive is going. but.... i've never had ANY problems with playback, watching videos, photos, anything. i load all music and videos manually, with the only sync being for certain photo albums. the problem is that if i load a small number of stuff - anything less than 100 songs is fine - no problems. but if i try to load a lot of stuff at once, it starts loading them in order, then inevitably fails at some point. i get the following error window:
"attempting to copy to the disk "iPod" failed. the disk could not be read from or written to."
in the past, i've loaded 1,000 files for more at one time with no problems.
because it only happens on large loads, i'm wondering if it's an overheating issue. but i've reset the ipod, reformatted the hard drive, gone into disk mode and ran disk utility (which found no problems at all), run through diagnostic mode on the ipod (which found no issues). i'm at a loss here. it's a big pain in the backside to have to load over 3,000 songs a hundred at a time.
    whaddya think?
    thanks.

i found the problem. ipod doesn't like my new combo usb/firewire hub. plugged directly into USB card on computer, problem went away. yay.

  • IPod video 5th G - Can only load about 15 songs before it crashes and won't allow me to add any more - Is my hard drive broken?

I have an iPod Video, 5th Generation - a few years old aye, but it does the job. Recently it crashed and wouldn't respond at all, I tried the 5 R's and the iPod wouldn't restore at all. Finally I managed to restore it, but then encountered a new problem.
When I try to put new music onto the iPod the maximum I can really add is about 15/16 songs (currently sitting about 112 MB). I can use the iPod just fine with this on it, but I can't add any songs or anything past this limit. I can take songs off and add new ones on, but again cannot pas this limit.
It is a 30GB hard drive, so I should be able to load near enough 30GB onto it.
Whenever I try to pass the limit and add new songs a message saying "Attempting to copy to the disk "RUSSELL'S I" failed. An unknown error occurred (-69).", and then a second message pops up reading "iTunes could not copy "Song" to the iPod because an unknown error occurred (-69)."
Looking to find out, does this mean my Hard Drive is broken/damaged, or could it possibly be a different issue, as buying a new hard drive is reasonably cheap, but if it turns out to be the motherboard or something else then I don't want to have wasted the money buying a new HDD only to find out the problem hasn't been fixed.
Has anyone else had this issue? Or anybody found a way to fix it?
    Cheers
    Russell

See here: iTunes displays a -69 error when syncing iPod
You can use the disk diagnostic tool built into the iPod's firmware to test the health of it's Hard Drive.  See this post from another forum member turingtest2 on how to do this as well as what the resulting numbers mean.

  • I can't load my songs from itunes to my Ipod. How can I get help?

I have a new iPod. I have succesfully installed iTunes on my computor and loaded music from my CD's. I can't download the songs from iTunes to my iPod Nano. I took it into Best Buy and the Geeksquad people loaded some of their songs. I came back and removed the software and reloaded it from the Apple website, and that didn't help a bit. What do I do?

go to file update your ipod and all the songs should go on the ipod unless theirs something wrong with yhe cord
