Can only move items in 1/4 inch steps??

Hi folks - first off just want to share the fact that Reports Builder can sometimes be one of the most annoying pieces of software I've ever used. :o)
With that in mind.. I'm trying to edit an existing report, just need to swap some fields round, however when I pick up and drag the fields around (confine & flex both off), the items only move in quarter-inch chunks, ie. I can't accurately reposition the items.
If I create a new dummy report, draw a box on it and try moving it round, it's fine.
There's obviously a property somewhere in the problem report that I'm missing, I'm sure it's something very simple, I do recall in the back of my mind coming across this before a few years back but it's late in the day now and I honestly can't remember what it is.
Does anyone have any ideas???

Can only move audio to iphone OR nano ...

Unless I delete my SC Info folder and reboot my PC each time, I can only move ituens purchassed audio files (music/audiobooks) to EITHER my iphone 3gs 32gb OR my nano (1st Gen 4gb). Trying the other device (after authenticating to itues with the first one) gets me back into the reauthentication loop until I delete sc info again ...
I'm on Win7, latest itunes (confirmed uninstall followed by fresh install) and latest s/w on both the iphone and nano. Transferring podcasts and audible.co.uk items works fine on either or with both plugged in simultaneously.
I've tried deleting sc info and then plugging BOTH devices in - but it only recognises one - and WILL then move files to the other, but only when the originally recognised device is plugged in.
Any ideas how I can get itunes to allow me to move itunes audio to either of my devices without having to delete the sc info folder and/or plug the other device in?

ps - imagine the pain I was in before I discovered the "delete sc info folder" thing!

not sure if it works with appletv's but not sure what use it would be to use it from one as it don't not have any music stored on itself
but you should check the app in app store called airfoil speakers touch that should at least make it work from a computer to the iphone

Can only select items with direct selection tool

I have been working on a design: one layer, with multiple groupings, nothing is locked. I'm trying to select the items with the selection tool, but can only select items with the direct selection tool (which is very inconvenient in this case). I can select the text with the text tool, but that really serves no purpose in my case. Anyone have any ideas as to what's going on? When I was working on it yesterday, everything was fine with all the tools. Thanks in advance.

It may be a corruption of preferences, or an issue outside Illy.
You may try to close down and just restart, or close down and restart pressing Ctrl+Alt+Shift/Cme+Option+Shift, or close down and use the suggestions in Move the folder or, if none of those suggestions help, have a look at the list in Other options

Try this general troubleshooting procedure:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete the contents the following folder: User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto
3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: For Mavericks and Yosemite, go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:
where you can check the Show Library Folder checkbox.

Can't move items to trash.

I can't move items to my trash can on my desktop. I have to right click and click on "move to trash" then I am promted for my password before the item is trashed.

Is this Trash can really on the Desktop, or the one in the Dock?

Needs clarification. You upload from your computer to the internet & download from a website/internet to your computer. So which are you trying to do? Either way, sounds like a browser issue. You need to post in the forum of whichever browser you are using.

Can only move object one axis at a time in PageMake 5

I must have hit some sort of short cut. I can only move an object one way at a time. Also rectangle tool only draws squares. Any help is appreciated. TIA

Thank you for the reply. Yes it is a old version and using an old Op system, Win98. Doesn't make it useless but will add a lot of extra time. Won't let me move object freely, only one direction at a time. Also won't draw rectangles or ovals. Not sure if I put some constraint on by accident. Thanks again for the help.

I had first installed F 4.00 beta, but got rid of that one fast ... it couldn't deal with any add-ons, and it was even loading films in YouTube!
I thus installed F 3.6, and have no scroll arrows to the right, but I can move my cursor north or south on the right-hand side, which moves the page.

How can I move items from my Nano to my computer?

I hate the new iTunes. It used to show what my iPod Nano Gen 6 had in the library and I could easily move items in and out, but now all I can do is add items to the iPod, but not remove.

Can only move 8 clips from right hand pane to lower viewer

I'm new to iMac so forgive what might be a foolish question.
I'm trying to create my first video using iMovie. I've managed to import the video just fine (45 clips) but when I try to drag individual clips to the lower viewer, I can only put ~8 clips in the viewer. I'm in 'simple' not timeline mode.
Why can't I drag more than 8 clips to the lower viewer?
Btw, I'm not a novice at video editing, having used Premier Elements and Pinnacle Studio in <Gasp!> Windows XP for a few years now. <G>

Patience, my friend, patience.
Just let the clip stay still for a second on the timeline. iMovie will make space for it and THEN you can let go of the mouse button.

Can't move items from one box to another

I have set up a separate mailbox for a certain list with some rules to sort new mail to this box. However, there are from the past a number of incoming items in my Inbox which are not sorted to this new box and I want to move them manually. Usually I can just select the items and drag them to the desired mailbox, but in this case I have selected the items and when I drag them to the new mailbox they just spring back. In other words they can't be moved. What can be happening? It worked before and doesn't work now. Help?

I solved my own problem. Sorry I can't take it down. I did a dumb thing and got confused about which box was in the foreground at the time. Duh! Oh well...thanx anyway.

I keep on getting messages that my iCloud storage is full. So I wanted to log into my iCloud and move files out of it and onto my harddrive. I can't find a way to do that. So far I manually move my information from my phone to my PC to clear up iCloud backup space. But this seems stupid - what is the point of iCloud if I can't access it?

I just went to icloud-contacts- OFF. It asks if I want to keep my contacts on the phone and I said yes.

Can't move items in timeline PPCC

When I attempt to move audio clips in my timeline, I'm finding that I'm not allowed to. For example, audio 1 contains an audio clip. Its placed in the middle of the timeline and I'm trying to sync it up to the video. The timeline will not allow me to move this item unless I zoom all the way out. Sometimes I have to try and drag it to create a new track before I can move it. Half the time this doesn't work either. Now, this is happening on all of my sequences and I have about 30 to do.

I've used Firefox for years and have never had a problem. Since the last upgrade I can only download items once in awhile. I have to go to Safari to do my downloads.

I have a Mac OS MacBook Pro. I do not have a problem downloading on Safari. For instance, I can't download statements from my accounts or photos from Kodak Gallery.
