Can only run one prog at a time

I'm experiencing a frustration problem. I can't run two adobe programs a the same time - ie, Lightroom and photoshop, After effects and photoshop, flash CS4 and after effects etc
Running final release of windows 7 64 bit, licenced PS3, trial AE, trial PS4....8GB Ram, has been with both Nvidia and ATI video cards, open GL on , Open GL off, seperate scratch disks, reinstalled everything,
Any help, advice, hints would be really appreciated as having to close programs all the time when switching apps is a real pain in the neck

Activity monitor shows RAM usage at between 3 and 3.95 most of the time, even with no apps running. Hard drive has plenty of free space. It is a miracle that I'm even able to finish typing this message, since right now I have Safari and Mail open at the same time! I've turned off Drop Box. Every application loads painfully slowly, and then any activity, including typing, is often interrupted by the spinning pinwheel of death. Sometimes, the problem resolves for a few minutes, and then returns with a vengance. Help!

Because of a problem, I uninstalled Firefox once, reinstalled it and it ran. I had a problem so I uninstalled/reinstalled it again. Now it will not run. I get an error message saying that firefox is running and you can only run one at a time. I have uninstalled multiple times and can't figure out what is running. The is only one Firefox installed and it is not open. What does this mean and how do I fix it?
If you use ZoneAlarm Extreme Security then try to disable Virtualization.

Can only print one item at a time
Hey everyone,
Bit of a Photoshop novice here, use it for DVD covers and labels. I have been using CS3 previously but upgraded to CS5.5 last year. The thing is on CS5.5 I can only print one page at a time even when I input say 20 copies to be printed, only one will print. That goes for the regular printer for printing covers and the disc printer.
I can open CS3 up and right away it will print however many I ask it to.
Is there something I am missing? Something so painfully obvious that it is staring me in the face but I am just not seeing it?
Thanks in advance!It isn't a printer setting. I have 3 different printers connected to my system and all of them worked with CS3 fine. And when I delete the preferences folder for CS5.1 it works as it should but only once, then afterwards it only prints one copy, no matter how many I ask it to print!
So if it works when the preferences have been removed, then fails to work afterwards, how can that be a printer setting?
I have read elsewhere that others have had similar issues with CS5 and Windows 7. -
I am trying to print all the PDF pages in a range of 5 pages but can only print one page at a time . . . It will print the current page only, but not all or pages 1-5. I need to go to the next subsequent page and command to print current page; continuing with this procedure until all pages are printed one at a time. Can this be overcome?
You can use printPages(1, 5), however I need to know how you print current page.

I'm not sure what I did, but I right clicked on my google tool bar (which I use since I can't find the Firefox navigation toolbar) and I somehow disabled it. Now I can only use one window at a time, and if I go to a website, I can't go to another without closing my current one so I can go to my homepage, which is google.
If the Menu Bar is hidden then press F10 or press and hold the Alt key down to bring up the "Menu Bar" temporarily.
Go to "View > Toolbars" or right-click the "Menu Bar" or press Alt+V T to select which toolbars to show or hide (click on an entry to toggle the state).

I can only scan one document at a time on my scanner. Can PDF files or documents be merged together?
Your scanner software may be able to do that; not Adobe Reader.

Try this general troubleshooting procedure:
1 - delete the iPhoto preference file, com.apple.iPhoto.plist, that resides in your
User/Home/Library/ Preferences folder.
2 - delete the contents the following folder: User/Library/Containers/com.apple.iPhoto
3 - reboot, launch iPhoto and try again.
NOTE: For Mavericks and Yosemite, go to your Home folder and use the View ➙ Show View Options menu to bring the this window:

Adobe Reader on the iPhone is a PDF reading app. It's not a creation app.
You need to get an app like Pages which is intended for page layout. It can place pictures from the phone and export PDF. -
Ever since I installed the add-on Favicon Picker 2 that lets you change the bookmark icons, I can't open tabs any more. The second tab will open, but if you try to go to a site, the FIRST tab redirects to that site. Basically, I can only use one tab at a time. Is there any way I can keep this add-on and use tabs?
Oh, wow - look at that, you're right :) I didn't want to uninstall the add-on as I like the feature, but simply by disabling it you can keep the new icons AND use tabs. Thanks dude!

When listening to songs on my itunes acct (without ipod attached), I can only play one song at a time. It doesn't automatically play next song on list. It happens with all playlists. It only started happening when I downloaded the latest itunes update.
Are all songs checked in your playlist?

got a new laptop. unsure of firefox verson on old as the computer quit taking a charge.

Mail: I can only open one email at a time
Using Mail, I have a very strange phanomenon: I can only open one email at a time. E.g. when writing a new email, I cannot open another email for reference. I need to close and save the new email as a draft before being able to open another one.

If you choose File > New Viewer Window from the menu bar in Mail, you can have as many email messages open as you like.

ITunes can only perform one thing at a time
Ever since updating to the latest version of iTunes on my dual core mac mini, iTunes can only perform one task at a time beach balling the entire time. For example if it is downloading a podcast, and I try and watch something off my apple tv via home sharing on this library, it fails to load. Same thing if it is syncing my iPhone.
Importing new media into my library also seems to take much longer than it did before, for instance importing a 700mb movie takes ~20 hours.
What can cause such a degrade in performance?Back up your drive now. Slow copying may be one sign a drive is about to fail, because it is having to repeat a lot of actions many times.
What does Disk Utility say about the SMART status in get info? Have you verified the hard drive with DU's first aid?
