Can only synch a small number of songs at a time -- more than 20 or so yields "itunes has stopped working" error message.
When I try to synch more than a small number of songs at a time 20-30 or so), I get the error message "iTunes has stopped working." This happens on my iPod, iPad, and iPhone, so I'm sure it's an iTunes or computer issue. I'm using a PC with Vista.
I have reinstalled iTunes many times. I have also taken care to delete all iTunes related files from my registry. Any suggestions? It is a pain to manually synch my library in batches of 20 songs at a time. If someone has a solution to this, I would be SO GRATEFUL.
i found the problem. ipod doesn't like my new combo usb/firewire hub. plugged directly into USB card on computer, problem went away. yay.

Two months ago, I bought a new computer that uses Windows 8. I was running iTunes 10.6 on it fine until today, when it crashed for some unknown reason. Every time I've tried to open it again, I kept on getting a 'iTunes has stopped working' message. Thanks, MikeSame problem here! Moreover, for some reason, the pictures in my iPhone 3GS somehow have been divided into 2 folders, Photos and Medialibrary. And when I open iPhone as a folder through the explorer I can see only the Photos folder, but cannot see the Medialibrary folder which stores the photos taken before updating/upgrading the iPhone and getting separated folders!!! What the hack with all of this?!!! When I connect iPhone to PC it automatically opens iTunes and starts syncronizing it, but at the process of OPTIMIZING the photos (and according to the number of photos it shows, I see that it tries to syncronize that invisible Medialibrary folder) the process suddenly stops and error message pops out Tried the sync test, tried the button DEBUG in that pop out message, but NOTHING HELPS!!! Also, when I open the Medialibrary in my iPhone, the screen get sblack all through scrolling it down, only the video clips are shown there... >.<
So, could you, apple developers, please, explain WHAT THIS PROBLEM IS ABOUT?!!!!!! FIX IT! I am getting ****** of to spend hours at the computer and reading those lame advises which do not help at all! I have my own things to do except reading your support websites. After downloading the newest version, 10.6.1, whenever I open itunes I almost immediately get a "itunes has stopped working" error messsage, in which the only option is to hit the "close the program" button. Simply closing the error message closes the program as well. I am operated under windows XP with the latest updates (or so the updater tells me). It seems like its getting stuck trying to send me a new user agreement because dont you have to agree to one for every new update? It just can't seem to get past that point. I tried opening it up in safe mode but that didnt work either. Any help would be greatly appeciated.
Looks like itunes was still trying to communicate with my iphone and got confused when it couldnt find it. Found this in another post and it worked great.
Solution:
Make sure you are not connected to the internet and then open itunes. Sync your phone and then enable the internet again. Then stay connected to the internet and close your itunes and reopen it. Bam problem solved.

Can only load a limited number of songs at a time
this is a brand new issue no my ipod video that has me worried the hard drive is going. but.... i've never had ANY problems with playback, watching videos, photos, anything. i load all music and videos manually, with the only sync being for certain photo albums. the problem is that if i load a small number of stuff - anything less than 100 songs is fine - no problems. but if i try to load a lot of stuff at once, it starts loading them in order, then inevitably fails at some point. i get the following error window:
"attempting to copy to the disk "iPod" failed. the disk could not be read from or written to."
in the past, i've loaded 1,000 files for more at one time with no problems.
because it only happens on large loads, i'm wondering if it's an overheating issue. but i've reset the ipod, reformatted the hard drive, gone into disk mode and ran disk utility (which found no problems at all), run through diagnostic mode on the ipod (which found no issues). i'm at a loss here. it's a big pain in the backside to have to load over 3,000 songs a hundred at a time.

When I click on the itunes shortcut or the program I get the following message:
ITunes has stopped working. My two options are: Windows can check on line for a solution to the problem or close the program.
It seems that my entire library is not there. If I sync my ipod will it add it back into my library on the computer?
I've even tried installing again and nothing works. Tried the "repair" and it says that ITunes is loaded but I stil get the above error when I try to open the program.

I have recently bought a new laptop with windows 7 and when i have tried to install and open itunes i keep getting the message 'itunes has stopped working' itunes then shuts down before i can do anything to fix it. How can I fix a "Plugin Container for Firefox has stopped working" error?

After changing how Firefox handled cookies (changed to forbidding 3rd party cookies, asking permission to set cookies), I rebooted my system, and Firefox would not start - I got the error message in the question. I uninstalled Firefox, and then re-installed, and Firefox ran fine. After some hours, I closed Firefox and rebooted the system, and again, Firefox hangs upon start, and I get the Plugin Container has stopped working error message.

Thanks in advance!plugin-container.exe is crashing repeatedly. The error code is 0x80000003, the faulting module is mozalloc.dll, version 33.0.0.5397, fault address 0x00001425. Hardware acceleration is disabled, and I have disabled all plugins in an attempt to cure the problem (only Acrobat and Flash were enabled, and Flash is up to date).
(Edit) I'm running EMET 4.1 - if this is memory-related might that be significant?

The crashes are intrusive but Firefox itself is not usually affected - so isolating the plugins works as intended.

I can not get my iTunes 10.3 on my Windows 7 32 bit PC. As soon as I click on a song in my library a message comes up telling me that iTunes has stopped working. How do I fix this?
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down page in case one of them applies.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there is backup and recovery advice elsewhere in the user tip.
If you've already tried a complete uninstall and reinstall try opening iTunes in safe mode (hold down CTRL+SHIFT as you start iTunes), then going to Edit > Preferences > Store and turning off Show iTunes in the Cloud purchases. You may find iTunes will now start normally.

when connecting to the itunes store i get a mess: (itunes has stopped working) all i can do is close the peogram. i was on the phoine with apple today over 2 hrs still cant fix it. unistalled it 3x and in the proper order. reset all internet connection to default setting, turned off virus programs ect. I am having the same problem now also. It happened after I updated my version. I have NEVER had this problem before as a windows user and have had iTunes for 5 years. So, I would have to say it is an Apple problem. I have not changed anything on my computer. I still have Internet Explorer and I have not even updated windows. The only thing I updated was iTunes. Now, I am not getting any response from Apple and if you call you have to pay for support. What a joke. An iPod costs $400 you would think that after paying that much you would at least get some type of help. This will now be the last time I ever by anything apple.
