Can Oracle DB and AS be installed on one box

Hi,
When I installed Oracle 11g on my machine, everything worked fine. But after I installed OAS 10.1.3.3 on the same box, the TNSListener cannot be startup with the following error:
"The OracleOraDb11g_home1TNSListener service on local computer started and then stopped. Some services stop automatically if they have no work to do, for example, the Performance Logs and Alerts service."
I tried to delete and recreate the listener, but it doesn't help. And when I tried to start the listener using the command "lsnrctl start", I found another listener named Oracleoracleas1TNSListener was generated in Services and I don't know how to remove it.
I am thinking maybe Oracle DB and AS should not be installed on one box. Can anyone who ran into the same issue and knew the solution help me on this?

Dear Friends,
I have installed Oracle 10g on my machine which already had Oracle 9i - 9.1.2.0 Release. Now the problem is that when i try to create a service name it gives me this error- ORA-12514: TNS:listener does not currently know of service requested in connect descriptor. To overcome this what i have done is that i have stopped the Oracle 9i listner and started the Oracle 10g listner, it is working after this but Oracle 9i service stpooed. Does this mean that Oracle 9i & 10g listner can't run together ? Or one has to stop the listner for one version to start another. The port number is same 1521 for both the listner. When i tried to change the port number still the same error comes as described above.

if you want to configure both listener (oracle 9i and 10g listener)
then u configure
listener9i on 1521 port
and other
listener10g is on 1522 port
also make changes in tnsnames.ora file
as

Can Oracle 7i and 8i be connected from Oracle 9i database

I want to know if i can do the following. That means is it possible in production scenario. If yes then how and will it affect the performance to a great extend.
We are now upgrading the application server to weblogic 10.3 . But this server supports only Oracle 9i and above. But we have two more data server which are Oracle 8i and Oracle 7i. These databases will be upgraded later on but not now. So the problem is i can not connect to these Oracle database versions if i use Weblogic 10.3. So i wanted to know if there is any possibility of connecting the application server to a intermideate Oracle 9i database which will act as a bridge from Application server to Oracle 7i and 8i. Can Oracle 9i connect to Oracle 7i and 8i. If yes then how. You can provide me online references if any.

Can Acrobat 7 and 9 be installed together?

I just learned that Acrobat 9 does not allow viewing multiple PDF files in a single window. This really disappoints me a lot. In version 7 and 8 it was possible to do this, and now Adobe decides to mess it up in version 9.
Can version 7 and version 9 run together in the same hard drive? I can't work without having the ability to view multiple files in a single window.

It is not recommended and actually AA9 installation may uninstall AA7. If you succeed in getting them both on the system, be prepared to possibly have to deal with conflicting parts. The Distiller drivers and such associated with printing will likely be taken over by AA9.

Database, iAS and iDS installed in one box

I would like to install 9.2.0.1 Database, 9.0.4.1 iAS and 9.0.4.1 iDS all in one box, Does any body have ever had this experience before? please share your experience with me, or at least could advice me where I can find the resource or article. Thank's and best regards.

Database Installation

How can I 'cut and paste' a part of one image to another?

I have this program the creates great syfi looking planets and some other cool stuff. I creates them
on a solid black background. I'm hoping there is a way to cut out just that planet and paste it onto
the sky of another picture. I don't want the black background just the planet. I can go in and make
the edges look nice after it's done. But I don't know how to do it :-(

1. use the selection tool(s) of your choice to select the planet. It helps to give the selection a one or two pixel feather to avoid a cutout look (Select>Feather).
2. Copy it (ctrl+C in windows, command+C on a mac)
3. Paste it (ctrl+v in windows, command+v on a mac)
You will get better results if both images have the same ppi before you start (image>resize>image size. If you need to make a change for one image, make sure Resample Image is OFF.) You can use the Move tool to arrange/resize the object once it's in the destination photo.

HT5621 can my wife and I share iBooks using one of our apple accounts?

My wife and I each have an iPad and an iPhone. She has a Macbook Air I have a Macbook Pro wth retina display. I also have an iPad mini retina.
Is there a way we can share books bought through iBooks even though we have different Apple accounts? I have Mavericks and she is going to update to it on our Macs.

If you are using extended classic scenario you can simply delete the line items in the PO within SRM. This will replicate the appropriate changes in the backend.
You won't be able to change the PO in the backend as this is standard functionality.
You can also archive SRM PO incase you don't want to delete the same
PO Archiving
Once the purchase order is ordered and issued, it is a legal document between your company and the vendor. Only PO line items can be deleted and you can not delete PO header.
Deleting line item of PO is not enough. Make sure that PR or SC history does not contain any follow on document else system will interpret this a close PR or SC.
Because the PO was already printed or output exist... You cannot delete PO header.
Once the PO has been issued to vendor in any form, deletion is not possible at the header level, only possibility is deleting line items of the PO (deletion indicator marked for all the line items of PO). Only when the PO is rejected by the approver (in case any, which will be in the 'release rejected' status) or in held state (before issued to vendor), PO can be deleted at the header level, as the data still exists in SRM and not get transferred to R3 backend. If you want to forcibly delete the PO at the header level, flag DOC_CLOSED field in the table BBP_PDHGP (header tabe) through BBP_PD for the respective PO.
Try using the Function Modules "BBP_PD_PO_DB_DELETE".

Can 7.1 and 8 be installed on the same computer without conflict?

I wrote a program in Labview 8.0 and want to run it on a computer that already has 7.1 (this computer has a lot of programs that we don't want to have to upgrade). Saving as a previous edition created 5 pages worth of compatability errors. Is it possible to simply install 8.0 in addition to 7.1 on the same computer without either program interfering with the other? We use a DAQ card and GPIB.

As Blair said, yes you can have multiple versions installed.
You simply have to remember 2 important things:
1. Keep backups of the appropriate versions of vi's.
2. Remember to right-click on the vi and select Open With > select appropriate LV version.
Instead of 2 (above), you can always start LV first and open the vi's from within it.

Am a fulltime RV person and travel a lot. Before I moved to all Apple products was using a Dell computer on which I could run Microsoft Streets and Trips program. Can not find any apple program compatible with that program to run on my MacBook. Is there any whay to run the Streets and Trips program on my MacBook?

9iASR2 and 9iFS. Install which one FIRST?

I decided to install 9iDB, 9iASR2 and 9iFS into a single computer. However, I'm not sure do I need install 9iASR2 before 9iFs? or other hand?

9iAS Release 2 first then 9iFS into the 9iAS release Middle Teir home.
Why bother with 9iDB. 9iAS will require 2 Oracle Homes:
1. Infrastructure - A full 9i database (9iDB hence my question) with Oracle Internet Directory set up.
2. Middle Tier - All the bits required for J2EE, Portal etc. This is where 9iFS should be installed.
Since this is one machine you will need a lot of Processor and RAM for 9iDB, 9iASR2, 9iFS. Hence don't bother with 9iDB.
I have 9iASR2 only on a Win2k Pro system - PIII 933 & 512 MB RAM - The machine has over 700MB committed and swaps most of the time.
Recommend 1 GB Minimum for what you want (Without 9iDB) possibly 2 GB (With 9iDB)

How can I drag and drop an item from one Tree control to another in LabVIEW 7.1?

You can use the mouse up and down event on the two tree controls but the problem is making the correct selection in the second tree control. I want to be able to switch over to the selection bar of the second tree control so that I can place my item in the correct position. I know all possible workarounds with double-clicks and so on... but I really want a windows drag and drop.
This is what I have for the moment. Please check the library below. I need to activate the selection bar of the second tree control somehow to get the position in the control. The VI below is written in LV 7.1

As far as I know this feature is currently not supported by the Tree control. A workaround, would be to use the vertical position of the mouse in the button up event to determine what line you�re dropping the item.

AM 7 and Solaris 10 all on one box?

I am trying to evaluate Access Manager, but am running into basic problems. I have Solaris 10 loaded, and installing from the JES installer: Web Server, Directory Server, and Access Manager.
Accepting defaults for just about everything and the install goes fine.
I can get to the LDAP login screen, but when I enter the amadmin username and password, I get access denied. I can see the user in the Directory Server console.
Questions:
1) Is AM 7 really working on Solaris 10?
2) Can all three pieces run on the same machine (same zone)?
3) How do I tell AM to not use LDAP, but use the Unix auth module since I know Unix logins are working fine.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

3> /amserver/UI/Login?module=Unix will let you to use Unix auth module. However, I don't think it will work without any config changes.
You will need to look at the amAuth and amAuthLDAP log in /var/opt/SUNWam/debug directory for auth failure reason. You can set debug.level=message in AMConfig.properties to get more info. Don't forget to restart after change debug.level.
