Can PC suite sync Outlook postal addresses etc wit...

Hi,
I have been using a smartphone for years, but it needs replaced. I really wanted to move away from Windows Mobile, and researched the 6120 and PC Suite and it looked like it would do the job, although detailed information was a bit sparse.
So I've taken out a contract with 3, with the idea that I could check the details during the cooling off period. To my surprise, even the documentation supplied on purchase doesn't help, and 3's return terms won't allow me to 'customise' ie load data to see.
I can't find any mention of addresses in FAQs or in these forums, only some discussion about inaccurate mapping of fields from Outlook, so I fear the worst ...
So can I store and sync fields for things like names, addresses, notes and other miscellaneous data items, like I can with my smartphone?
For completeness: PC side, win xp, Outlook 2003; Nokia device 6120 Classic, and it would be latest PC Suite version
Thanks for any feedback

The latest version for my phone, T-Mobile Nokia 6263, sync'd everything in my Outlook contact file. All phone numbers, email addresses and mailing addresses. There is no way to pick what fields to sync. You can create a "custom" Outlook folder that you can sync to. But then you have to maintain addresses and phone numbers in 2 places.
I am returning my phone because I cannot load my entire Outlook contact file to the phone's internal memory. PC Suite software won't let me load contacts to the SD card and I can't reduce the amount of information by picking only the fields that I want on the phone. That to me is really poor software design. It makes the phone unusable for me. The software clearly needs improvement.
(As a rough benchmark, I have about 900 contacts in my Outlook database. My spouse has about 400. I was able to load her contact list, but not mine.)

  • Can anyone tell me a postal address to allow me to...

    Good evening folks,
I've had a pretty horrible time dealing with BT customer services recently. I've needed to contact them because my broadband has for quite a few months now has been dropping constantly, and even when it recovers it's often at a disgracefully low speed (for example as I write this I've got a .15 meg connection).
I've made umpteen telephone calls and had many difficult conversations with people with accents that I find difficult to understand or be understood. I've tried verbally to explain that I now want to complain, especially as no one will take ownership beyond the duration of the call for fixing my problem. I finally managed to get an engineer to attend earlier this week, who couldn't find anything wrong, and the connection is back to its old tricks of constantly dropping. The thought of having to deal with BT's customer services again is actually a source of considerable anxiety and is making me feel I'll on occasion. I've had enough and want to complain in writing by recorded delivery, including my MP, but I can't find a postal address anywhere on the website.
Can anyone help? Does anyone have for example got an address for a chairman or other suitably senior person?

  • Problems syncing Outlook contacts, calendar etc with IPHONE?

After trying many options to fix this problem, the following was determined: If you were previously using another type of PDA/Smartphone with Outlook, your IPHONE may not properly sync your calendar, contacts, etc. For whatever reason, there is a conflict. SOLUTION: you need to save/export your contact/calendar info, then completely delete everything out of Outlook, then import back in. I wasnt able to do this w/2007, instead I exported and then made a new user profile (on my computer) and then dragged my saved files there. A minor pain in the a$$, but oh well. Thought I would pass this along, as it has to ******* someone else off as well! Good luck!

I thought I read somewhere that you had to make sure there were no other PDA plugins in Options>Other>Advanced options>COM Add-ins. I think if there is another plugin for a device other than the iPhone, it has problems.

When I try to sync my BB Curve with Outlook 07 it will not sync my adress book. I tried to configure the settings and it will not work. After you click finish and try to sync, the addrress book is unchecked, calendar, taskd and memo pad sync fine.
I have tried updating software, I am runing desktop  software 6.0 and device software 5.01. Also my phone is losing contacts, and when I enter a new contact on the phone it puts it in 4 times. I am ready to drive over this phone with my car if i can't get it to work right!

    Poolguy/Nicholas,
    Welcome to Apple Discussions.
As a new/infrequent posters you are not aware that adding a question to another thread is known as thread-jacking and it is often counter-productive. It is best to start your own thread. That will get you a more focused answer and be easier to notice without detracting from the original question. In this case the question is over a month old and the only reason that I saw these two posts was because I was still subscribed to the topic.
I would recommend that you reapply the Combo Update. Pay attention to the Important: Please read before installing section.
Poolguy should use the Mac OS X Update 10.4.7 Combo PPC, and Nicholas should use the Mac OS X Update 10.4.7 Combo Intel
    Good Luck.

  • PC Suite syncs Outlook contacts but not calendar

I just bought a new E71x (firmware 3.27).  I'm using PC suite 7.1.30.9 to sync with Outlook 2007 SP2.  I have the Sync setup configured for Calendar/To-do and Contact Items.  The sync operation correctly copies all of the contact information, but none of the calendar information.  The sync report gives the correct number of updates for the contacts, but provides no information about why none of the calendar data is being sync'ed.
Has anyone dealt with this or a similar problem?
    Thanks,

I'm sure you've checked this, but have you made sure that the Conflict Resolution is set to "Mobile Phone" (I'm guessing this is where all your calendar info is, or set to Outlook if this is the primary) and that the Direction is "Update both directions"?
I had an issue similar to this - the Outlook Email profile was screwed up and the calendar refused to backup.  It might be worth a go of backing up (Export) all your calendar items and contact items (and email if you use it) to a PST file.  Then open up the 'Mail' icon in Control Panal, and deleting the current email profile.  Create a new one, then import the PST into the new profile.
Be aware that all account settings will have been removed if you do this (POP,SMTP, exchange settings etc) so make a note of them.

  • Can PC Suite sync with 2 phones, ie N70 and N80?

My bro-in-law has a N70 but no PC, I put music on for him, Im geting a N80 so can both phones work on th software.
I wont have both connected t the same time
My N80 is on Orange purchased in June 2006 firmware v 3.0617.06 03-05-2006
    Cheers
    Andy

i have 6.5.12 installed on my notebook and also 6.80.22 installed on my desktop..
problem is, i did backup for 7610 and attempted to restore the file on 6280 but the PC suite then said they couldn't find any backup file. I bet they would only do backup and restore on the same handset but not catering handset upgrade situations...
    disappointed.

  • Why can't I sync my .mac address book with my address book on my imac?

Ive read all the instructions made sure all my settings and preferences are correct, but my .mac contacts simply wont download into my contacts book on my .mac
    Very very frustrating!
    Please help!

here's some more information from michael lafferty, a frequent contributor:
"You also need to understand that now is not a particularly good time to be dealing with .Mac Sync issues, because server side changes have been made to accommodate the release of Mac OS X 10.5, and synchronization between Mac OS X 10.3 and any later version of Mac OS X is no longer supported. Substantial performance problems evident over the last few days have also made life difficult for many .Mac users.
"And, now more than ever—despite the likely slower response due to these changes and the large numbers of those likely affected—you should work with a .Mac support representative to resolve your registration or connection issue before attempting to reset your synchronization data. You've got the right idea, but you cannot proceed until you are able to connect and exchange information is a session with .Mac.
"To trigger a support request, fill out the web form on the lower part of this page. The status indicators at .Mac show that the synchronization update is still in progress, and that users may not see expected results."

  • Can not get MS Outlook to sync with Cal or iTunes. Worked fine prior to the upgrade to 10.9.3

I want Outlook to be the primary calendar that I use to scheduling. Prior to upgrading to 10.9.3 this worked fine. I have tried every thing I know to get it work, Cold boots each app., turning off sync services on Outlook and restarting. Nothing I know works

What version of  OS X were you running before upgrading to Mavericks?
    Sync Basics
CalDAV & CardDAV are protocols used by Apple, Google, Yahoo and others to sync contacts and calendars. Neither Entourage 2008 nor Outlook 2011 support CalDAV or CardDAV.
You can no longer sync Outlook with an iPhone or iPad via iTunes. You can only sync with an iPhone or iPad via a cloud-based service like iCloud or Google.
You can no longer sync Outlook local calendars with OS X Calendar (formerly iCal). You can, however, continue to sync calendars hosted on a cloud-based service like iCloud or Google with Apple's Calendar.
You can no longer sync with any third-party apps running on your Mac that use Sync Services, like Entourage or Outlook.
If you want to stick with Outlook, I suggest you look at Office 365. Otherwise, moving to Apple Mail, Contacts and Calendar with iCloud might be a better option for you.
Until Microsoft adds CalDAV and CardDAV support to Outlook, there is no way to sync other than get an Exchange account. It's $4/month Exchange Online.

  • Outlook Express address book to Entourage

Changing from a PC to a MacBook Pro - Is there any way I can export my PC Outlook Express address book to my MacBook Pro? I am using Entourage and would like to have my address book exported rather than having to type everything. Is this possible or do I have a lot of typing to do?

've exported the address books into a variety of file types within the iMac: ldif, html, xls, (comma separated) rtf, txt and and none of those file types will import into either Entourage or Apple Mail on my G4. I've been racking my brain for weeks on this trying to find some conversion software or format to easily get these addresses into my Mail applications without having to tediously enter in each one by one.
Address Book (note that Address Book is the Apple utility for managing your contacts - Mail makes use of it) should be able to import either comma separated or tab separated text files. For the former the extension must be .csv and for the latter .txt.
Tab-separated (or delimited if you prefer) is often better, as addresses may have a comma in them.

  • Postal addresses not synchronising from Outlook

I just got a Nokia 6303 Classic.  I installed PC Suite v 7.1.40.1 and synchronised with Outlook 2007 (SP2) and all went as I expected.  I then updated the phone's firmware from v 8.9 to v 9.1 and synchronised again.  This time I lost nearly all the postal addresses from my Contacts on the phone.  The only two that made it to the phone (out of over 600) are two that have a Business address - and those two have nothing in the 'Name' field so cannot be searched for on the phone!  All my other contacts have only a Home address and none of these addresses have syncronised.
How can I get all my contacts' home addresses to synchronise to the phone??
    I'm running Windows Vista SP2.

I can't work out how to edit my own post so have to use Reply - sorry.
I found a work-around - I deleted all the contacts from the phone, then synced with Outlook again and this time got the postal addresses.
But I don't want to do this every time as it takes ages - I need to know how to re-sync without losing all the postal addresses.
I tried Ovi suite too but that was awful - and didn't help with the address problem.

  • How can I sync Outlook Calendars on 2 PCs with my iPhone?

I have a PC at work and a PC at home ... both have MS Outlook 2007 running on them; I have an iPhone 3GS
I want to be able to sync the calendar from BOTH my PCs on to the iPhone and (therefore) with each other. However, I get a message on the second PC that I can't do this as it is only possible to sync calendars (and contacts by the way) with one PC. Is there any solution to this?
My music is happily synced only with my home PC - fully understand the issues that mean you can only sync those libraries with one PC.

    Hi,
you don't need MobileMe or anything fancy. I personally sync my Outlook calendar and my Outlook address book with three computers (two at the office and one at home)and besides I run Office 2003 on one, Office 2007 on the other and Office 2010 on the third, so it can't get more complicated than that, but it works 100%.
First sync Outlook with iTunes on one computer, having done that when you try to sync it to another machine, iTunes will recognize that it is synced with another computer and ask you if you want to merge the data, say yes, That's all there is to it.
It does not work for music as you rightly say but as far as Calendars and Contacts are concerned it's flawless and transparent.
If you hit a snag talk back to me.
    Cheers.
