Can Photoshop no longer handle decimals in feathering values?

Hi,
I've always appreciated the sensitivity of the feathering in Photoshop, where there was actually a difference between 0.3 and 0.4 px feathering (on the selection lasso, for instance).
However, ever since upgrading to CS5, I've noticed that Photoshop doesn't seem to like decimal feathering. Anything between 0 and 0.4 looks exactly the same, and everything between 0.5 and 1.4 looks the same as well. In other words, Photoshop seems to be rounding it out to the nearest full pixel.
There are situations where I litterally need 0.5 px feathering, but can't get it.
Is this a bug, or am I doing it wrong?
Note : Been using Photoshop since 1997, this is the first time I've encountered this problem.

I can confirm what you're reporting. I hadn't noticed the difference myself as I rarely use decimal feathering values, but I just tested...
What I did was this:
1. Make a rectangular selection with 0.4 pixels feathering. Copy / Paste as a new layer.
2. Repeat step one on the original at 0.6 pixels, and 1 pixels.
The 0.4 pixel copy has a perfectly hard edge (i.e., there really was no feathering at all).
The 0.6 pixel feathering and 1 pixel feathering copies are identical.
Same results in Photoshop CS4. I haven't had time to test CS3 or earlier yet.
This surprises me a little, as I believe Chris Cox (of Adobe) worked to actually INCREASE the resolution of many of the functions of Photoshop CS5 - for example you can now specify the rotation of a free transform to the hundredth of a degree instead of just a tenth.

I found an Adobe web site note that raw plug-in version 8.7 will support Canon 7D mark 2, but is not included in Elements version 11.

Read before you download a CS6 product
You need your CS6 serial number to complete the installation.

Can Photoshop Elements handle very large files?

I have some very large image files (up to 20,000 x 30,000 pixels). Microsoft paint can not open them because of resource limitations.
I don't want to do anything real fancy. Maybe extend a square matrix with white pixels or overwrite sections with white pixels.
Can Photoshop Elements deal with such large images, say just a chunk at a time? Or does it require to have the entire image in memory at one time?

This note from Adobe indicates that PSE5 and PSE6 could open such a file; probably the limits for PSE7 and PSE8 are either the same, or would allow even larger images to be opened.

Can Photoshop Convert Selected File-types From a Folder Full of Files?

I have a folder with approximately 20,000 files in it. The files are a mix of eps, tif, jpg, and PSD files. I want to convert all the eps files to tifs. For now I've created a folder into which I move approximately 500 eps files at a time (that I manually select) and then run a batch action I created to convert them. This works fine but you can imagine how long this process will take (moving, converting, emptying the folder, moving 500 more files, and so on). I'd like to know if there's a way, either within an action or the batch command (or possibly a script or even some other way) that Photoshop would select only the eps files to convert. I could let it run overnight if it were possible.
I'm using Photoshop CC on a Mac running 10.6.8 with 7GB RAM.

I'm not sure about EPS files but the rest can be taken care of via File > Scripts > Image Processor. I'm pretty sure that EPS files can't be handled by Image Processor though.

This is ludicrous and takes forever to do!

There has been a change in where Firefox searches for plugins and the plugins folder in the Firefox program folder is no longer scanned for plugins, so Firefox won't find them anymore if they are installed in the plugins folder instead of the "browser\plugins" folder that Firefox now scans.
You can set the plugins.load_appdir_plugins pref to true on the about:config page to make Firefox scan the "<install>/plugins/" directory for plugins like the WMP plugin (np-mswmp.dll).

You can alternatively move plugins from "<install directory>\plugins\" to "<install directory>\browser\plugins\" (create this folder when missing) to make Firefox find them again.

What problem are you having that should be easy just create the layer to make frames with. Create a frame animation in the timeline panel. Create the frames and set their display time. Save an animated gif for the web ie "Save For Web"
Prior to CS6 Photoshop only had a Animation Palette in CS Adobe replaced the palette with the Timeline Palette that can do Frame animations and Video. You can render a fame animation as a video but video does not support transparency like and animated Gif.

Kelly.....I am old school in Mac, I love my G5...I do have a Bachelors degree in Electronic Publishing, but I graduated in 95'...so, not meaning to bore you...I do have Photoshop 6.0 and was unaware, though I purchased Leopard throught the Mac store, that the classic would no longer be available. I do a great deal of work in Photoshop and Illustrator and I guess my main question is....where do I go from here?
I know that CS-5 Photoshop is a whole new program and I checked with Adobe and on Amazon and it is not cheap, I know enough to deal through an authorized dealer...My Mac is a power PC G5 that I purchased in 2005. What version of Photoshop do I need to purchase so that it is compatible with leopard? I have much work piled up to do and this would help me greatly.

Your operating system is too old to run Photoshop.
You are running 10.6.8. Photoshop CC 2014 only runs on OS X 10.7 and later.

It seems like the characters have exceeded the limit that VARCHAR2 can handle? What other data type could I change the fprchr.trigger_email table to? Is that all that is needed?

When you synced with iTunes It would have tried to replace the music on the iPhone with what is on the computer. which is what happens when you sync with iTunes.
If the songs are purchased you can re-downloaded them Pretty easily. You mentioned that you still see the songs and that you could not play them. Do they have a Cloud symbol next to them? If so this means that you can download them but that they are not on the device.

Photoshop no longer working after Lion OSX upgrade ?

Just upgraded to Lion, and my photoshop no longer seems to be working and has a question mark through it on the icon on the dock ? Is there a fix ? or do we have to wait for Adobe / Apple to fix it...
