Can PI work with different versions of MQ?

I have requirment to let PI (7.1) communication with different versions of MQ (5.3 and 6.0). However I doubt that this is possible.
As for MQ, the JMS drivers of the MQ needs to be deployed to PI. For MQ 5.3 and 6.0, different drivers (6.0 has additional jar files as 5.0) are to be packaged into com.sap.aii.adapter.lib.sda and deployed to PI. There is no way you can deploy different version of drivers onto the same PI box. even if you can deploy different version of hte driver to PI box, it won't work in runtime, simply because, when the driver is loaded, there is no way to tell PI class loader which version of class (driver) to load.
how do you guys think of this?

I think that the 6.0 version should be backword compatible and should work with 5.3 also.

Virtual IE not working with different version of local IE

I built a virtual IE9 using the template (as Novell suggests). I needed it to support a web app that is only compatible with IE9. Our environment is IE11. The main problem is that you cannot view or download any files. The IE download manager box flashes and disappears. If you're opening up any pdf or MS Office file, the new tab in IE is blank (no file is viewed). Sometimes if you download anything, it will save to local Downloads folder, but does not auto-run. Also, you cannot change the "save as" directory, nothing comes up. This only happens when running the virtual IE9 on a machine that has local IE11. If the local IE is 9, then everything works. I've also tested and noticed this happens with any version of IE, it only works when the virtual IE version matches the local IE version. Which defeats the purpose of using virtual apps if you're running it on the same environment. Has anyone had any luck with this? Thanks in advance.

I'll throw my 2 cents in here. You may be experiencing what I did. I needed
to have a totally isolated IE11 for school testing purposes. I soon
discovered that the vapp of IE interacts with the local version??? Kind of
defeats the purpose. I opened an SR and it was confirmed that this is
expected behavior. After research I was given a document last week that
explains how to totally isolate IE form the desktop. My requirements were to
have the latest JAVA and flash and to absolutely not interact with the local
version due to inconsistencies across the school systems IE installs. I made
the new build and tested on a laptop with no flash and Java and it worked
fine with the changes to the registry settings of the vapp. Below are the
settings that support had me change. Not sure if you have done this but as
for the PDF issue did you create a pdf reader SVM and add that to your vapp?
I made a JAVA and Flash SVM and added those.
here are the settings to make sure your IE is totally isolated.
Isolate Host IE Add-ons
To completely isolate all host add-ons from the virtual version of IE it is
necessary to fully isolate the registry keys where the add-ons are

Can I work with both Versions 2 and 3 ?

I have a Powerbook laptop and G5 desktop (both pre- intel) running version 2 of LR.
I have ordered a new intel Mac and thinking of installing LR3 on it.
My Lightroom dbase and image files are on an external Hard Disc Drive, for mobility purposes.
I want to be able to work on all 3 computers with LR.
The way I see it I am stuck with version 2 or is there a way to use both?
As soon as I update my database to 3, Will it no longer work on 2 ?

It often makes more sense to read the license agreement yourself than assume others have and will accurately reflect it in their response.
I have attached a copy of the EULA and provided some extracts below. You'll note that continued use of the earlier version is permitted under certain circumstances.
Extracts from Lightroom 3 license
2. Software License. Working with different versions of FCP

My apologies if this is answered somewhere else but is there any way to work on a newer version of FCP then take that project to an older version?
We have 5.1 at home but the workplace has 5.0. I'd like to do some work at home and am not sure how take the project back on forth.

Welcome to the forum!
XML exports and imports will allow you to go back and forth with sequences. But since the crossgrade is so inexpensive, I'd suggest the office buy the latest software, so you don't waste time and effort doing this. I don't think every single aspect of what you do at home will translate completely with XML being the transfer technique.

Can AD work with different forests?

    Using AD is it possible to bring in a "group" from a domain
in one forest into a group in a domain in a different forest
when a one-way trust relationship exists, if so how?
    Note: If it is possible can the users "friendly" username
be retained instead of the usernames changing into "SID's"?

It is possible. My production has a one way trust with another forest and I am able to assign permissions/group nesting like how you're asking.
For your SID translation, there is a security option you may want to check in to.
LocalSecurityPolicy(secpol.msc)->Security Settings->Local Policies->Security Options -> Network Access: Allow anonymous SID/Name Translation.
That setting has given me grief in the past.

Members of the team working with different version of indesign

Currently, all the members of DPS team in my company use Indesign 5.5.
Up to now, Our client sent the original indesign files of paper magazine in version 5.5 or lower format. So no problem until now.
The client want to add different magazine in DPS, so we got another bunch of Indesign files of different magazine. But we couldn't open any files because it was made from newer version of Indesign.
So we planned one memeber of the team to upgrade Indesign CC5.5 to CCT.
Here is the question.
If member A uses Idesign version 5.5 and member B uses Indesign CC and they are making one magazine together, is there no problem at all?

@Chris – If you stay with InDesign CC producing the folio, you should have no trouble (other than changes in text composition).
If you want, for any reason, go back to InDesign CS5.5 through IDML, you could get into trouble:
1.1 Some CC features are not present in CS5.5
1.2 Text could flow differently according to changes in the text composition engines of the two versions
2. ADPS in CC vs ADPS in CS5.5 might apply different properties (different inserted label names) to the overlays. That might mean that you will have to redo overlays in CS5.5 already finished in CC.
I'm uncertain about this particular point. You have to test that thoroughly…
And more: IDML will carry on the different labels (the overlay features applied to page items). You cannot clear them on an object level (other than editing the IDML or an exported IDMS). So if you do one part of the job (doing overlays) in CC, hand over the IDML to CS5.5, do some new overlays there and go back to CC, the overlays could get messed up a lot. (I cannot not test that scenario, but you should do…)
Maybe someone from Adobe could chime in and clarify #2.

I have made a LabVIEW program where I have possibility to read a PDF document. When I made this LabVIEW program it was Acrobat Reader 5.0.5 that was installed on the PC. Lather when the Acrobat Reader was upgraded to version 6.0, there was an error when VI tries to launch the LabVIEW program. And Later again when we upgraded to Acrobat Reader 7.0.5 I must again do some changes and rebuild the EXE files again
It isn't so very big job to do the changes in one single LabVIEW program, but we have built a lot of LabVIEW programs so this take time to due changes every time vi update Acrobat Reader. (We have build EXE files.)
The job is to right click the ActiveX container and Click "Insert ActiveX Object", then I can brows the computer for the new version of acrobat Reader. After this I must rebuild all the "methods" in the Activex call to make the VI executable again.
Is there a way to build LabVIEW program so I don't have to do this job every time we update Acrobat Reader?
This LabVIEW program is written in LabVIEW 6.1, but I se the problem is the same in LabVIEW 8.2.

Is your Apple Intel-based, poppelmacbook? If not, you should consider treating yourself to a new Mac. Last December I gave up my old because it just could not update...anything because it was not Intel-based. Updating everything on this OS to 10.9 has been confusing for me, but I just could not work with that old Mac because the updates were too smart? for my 10.6. It is upstairs now...for visiting family: games, garage band, etc.--things I never did use. Apple refurbished and purchase the extended warranty. Apple loyalist since late 1980's.

Go to "Firefox"--> "Options" --> "Advanced"
Then un-check "Use hardware acceleration when available"
While not verified, I believe this problem is due to an SLI configuration where the focus is on monitor 1. (I.e acceleration is available, but only on monitor 1.)

To re-install iPhoto
1. Put the iPhoto.app in the trash (Drag it from your Applications Folder to the trash)
2a: On 10.5: Go to HD/Library/Receipts and remove any pkg file there with iPhoto in the name.
2b: On 10.6: Those receipts may be found as follows: In the Finder use the Go menu and select Go To Folder. In the resulting window type
/var/db/receipts/
2c: on 10.7 they're at
/private/var/db/receipts
A Finder Window will open at that location and you can remove the iPhoto pkg files.
3. Re-install.
If you purchased an iLife Disk, then iPhoto is on it.
If iPhoto was installed on your Mac when you go it then it’s on the System Restore disks that came with your Mac. Insert the first one and opt to ‘Install Bundled Applications Only.
If you purchased it on the App Store or have a Recent Mac you can find it in your Purchases List.

You need Lightroom 5.5 or later (the most current version is 5.7.1). This is a free update if you have already purchased an earlier version of Lightroom 5.

Only option is upgrading your Mac's OSX, since Apple will not allow iOS to go backwards.
