Can Premiere Pro allow editing on a Mac and use another machine to offload rendering?

I have a new Macbook Pro I'd like to use to editing but a VERY beefy PC networked locally I'd love to be able to use to assist rendering in Premiere.
Possible?
If not while rendering, what about in the final encoding stage using Encoder  Watch folders?
I have Adobe CC installed on both machines (PC and Mac versions)
Thx!

  • I downloaded Premiere Pro CS6 trial on my mac and it doesn't show up! Any Ideas?

I was looking into buying adobe Premiere Pro CS6, so I signed up for the trial and signed in and downloaded it. But straight after downloading it, NO applictaion showed up in my applications folder!
I don't think I've done anything wrong, I've done the same thing for Premiere Pro as I did for my Adobe Photoshop.
    Any Ideas Anyone?

    Locate the downloaded file:
    1. try to launch the file and see if you get prompts.
    2. drag the downloaded file to applications folder

  • How can I connect my ipad to my mac and use it as a signature pad?

The company I work for want utilize the ipads we have and use them as signature pads for clients to sign off on authorization forms. Is this possible and How can I got about doing this?

It has nothing to do with the device. The way Wi-Fi works, an end device can only be associated with a single access point at a time. And the iPad will attempt to latch on to the strongest signal it gets, in case there are several usable access points at any given moment.

  • Can Pre Pro CS6 edit video from Canon XA10 without transcoding?

    Can Premiere Pro CS6 edit video from a Canon XA10 camera (XP+ mode 1440 x 1080) on a PC (Win7 64 i7 860 4GB) without any prior transcoding?
I would like to emphasize the 1440 x 1080 source video part because other editing software I have tried doesn't fully support this format.
    Thanks

    Yes.

  • Adobe Premiere Pro to edit videos export process extremely slow!

    Hello,
I use Adobe Premiere Pro to edit videos, and until recently, it’s been working smoothly. The last few times I’ve tried to export, the process has been extremely slow—for example, yesterday the program told me it was going to take 22 hours to export a 527MB video.
My computer has an i7 processor and a decent video card (Radeon HD 7470) so I don’t think that’s the issue, but I can’t see it being the software since I had been successfully exporting videos until recently.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated—thanks!

  • Is there anyway to have Premiere Pro recognize the "in" & "out" points and the sequence's "home" (first frame) as edit points so that the up & down arrow work as short cuts on these areas?

Is there anyway to have Premiere Pro recognize the "in" & "out" points and the sequence's "home" (first frame) as edit points so that the up & down arrow work as short cuts on these areas?

Hey guys, I wrote a big long speech trying to be more clear and was just getting more confusing. LOL
Hopefully this image makes my question a bit easier to understand. In green you can see how the up and down arrow keys land while in Final Cut. In red how they land while in Premiere. I'd like them to land like Final Cut. Thanks!

  • Premiere Pro CS5 features - PC vs Mac

This isn't a PC vs Mac question.  I have both PCs (Win 7) and Macs (Snow Leopard).  Just wondering if there is any advantage to buying the PC version or Mac version of PP CS5 if considering the software only?  Any different  features on one version or the other?  Any stabilityy/bug issues using one or the other?  Thanks.

    Hi Todd,
Thank you very much for your reply!
    All the best,

Subject: Premiere Pro CS5 features - PC vs Mac
Is that list of missing features for the Mac version of PPro CS5
still current, or has it been updated in the newer versions?
What is in the Help document should be current. (Sometimes you need to read the comments on a given page to see some updated information.)
    Or are
there any plans for including these features in future upgrades of CS5?
If you want to see something added or changed, http://www.adobe.com/go/wish.
    Do
you have any idea why these features are not included?
Premiere Pro came back to Mac OS only a couple of versions ago. At that time, porting some features over to the new platform was considered to be not quite worth it because the features weren't much used, anyway. In many cases, the effects and features that are on Windows only have alternatives that are available on Mac OS. Much of what didn't come over to Mac OS were obsolete effects; we need to keep them around so that projects created with them can still work in the new version, but in many cases there wasn't much point in reqriting them for a new platform.
    I'd love to
start using the PPro CS5 on Mac, but I am worried about some of the
missing features, that are quite useful, eg. Camera Blur, Ghosting,
    Color Replace etc...
As I said, there are alternatives-usually superior alternatives-that are available on Mac OS. For example, the http://help.adobe.com/en_US/premierepro/cs/using/WS5C347E48-575E-469b-852C-74494022A4AFa.h tml and http://help.adobe.com/en_US/premierepro/cs/using/WSC924856D-FA9A-41c1-A930-966D90CD245Fa.h tml effects are available on both platforms, so the lack of the Color Replace effect shouldn't be much concern.
But, again, if you want to see something added or changed, http://www.adobe.com/go/wish.

  • Where can I find website templates that are editable by both Mac and PC

I need advice as to where I can get a website template(s) that can be edited with BOTH Mac and PC. (I am on a Mac, the other person working on this same project is using a PC.) I am proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign for Print, but am a novice at websites. Where can I go to, to get a website template that both of us can edit simultaneously?

I am proficient in Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign for Print, but am a novice at websites.
If you decide to use Dreamweaver, each of you will need a licensed copy for your particular operating system.  HTML & CSS coding skills are essential.
Another option is to use WordPress.  Neither of you will need software to edit the site because WP is installed directly on your remote server.  All you need is an internet connection and a browser to log-in to your site.

Many commercial and free Themes (templates) are available for WordPress.

A Google search for WordPress Themes will reveal hundreds more...

Serial numbers for older versions do not work across platforms.
At one time, when the product was current, you could get Adobe to switch you to the other platform, but I don't know whether Adobe will do that for old versions.  I do know it's not going to work if you try to use your Windows license for a Mac installation.

  • Can Premiere Pro CS4 import H.264 quicktimes?

Can Premiere Pro CS4 import H.264 quicktimes?

If the QT's are pure H.264, and you have that installed, then there should not be an issue.
Some camera mfgrs., and others, like to tweak H.264, so there is no all encompassing answer.
If you are having issues with a QT file, that seems to be H.264, you might want to look closely at the full specs. in MediaInfo, just to be sure that all settings match what they should.
Where did these files come from? That might tell the tale.
    Good luck,

  • Can Premiere Pro resume when computer sleeps in middle of rendering?

    My computer
    core i7
    64 bit
1.6 CPU (boosts up to 2.5)
    6 gigs ram
    My footage
    source: 1920x1080
    Output: 720x480
    Time of footage 54 min
    File Size 2.5 gigs
    Render time
When I had it set to Qualtiy 5.0, Bitrate 5 -7, VBR 2 pass, and checked Max. Render quality, Use Previews(which doesn't matter cause I have no previews associated),  My render time was seriously 36 hours!  I know scaling down adds to the time, but wow it is long. And no I have no special effects on the footage, just some zooming in and out and audio fades. Well I tried to do render it, but it is a laptop and I have to take it home to do work and traveling. Well, eventually I messed up and the laptop went to sleep.
Can Premiere pro continue to render after it has gone to sleep?
It did not seem to. The timer just sat there going up every second. So I stopped it and tried again. I lowered the settings to get only a 24 hours render time, but this morning I messed up and my laptop was running on battery power and it went to sleep. On resume, it had the same result, it seemed to stop progressing and just had the timer continue to tick up. Should I have been patient and waited another 4 hours to see if it actually resumed?
Since I use a laptop and such large render times. I want Premiere Pro to have a PAUSE ability  on rendering! Even if I need  to do a full shutdown. Is that even possible?

I just remembered something. The reason why it was 36 hours is my raw footage was on an external 3.0 USB drive rendering the footage to my internal harddrive. So.. I moved my raw footage over to my internal harddrive and that reduced render time drastically. I have already read up on some articles how people have their cache on one drive, footage on another, and render to another or something like that so that harddrives are not have to read and write to the same drive to slow things. But... If my external drives get unplugged from my laptop during transit rendering obviously stops. But regardless, it doesn't matter I noticed a dramatic decrease in render time when moving everything to just one drive.

  • Can Premiere Pro CS 5.5 Export An XML To The New Final Cut Pro X?

Can Premiere Pro CS 5.5 Export an XML to the new final Cut Pro X?

  • Can Premiere Pro CC work with mpeg files?

I tried to work with *.mpeg files, but can import them into a project.
Can Premiere Pro CC impoert and export mpeg (1, 2)  files?

    Lucky ...
As shooternz says, yes ... although if you are new, you may not realize that when you start a project, you have to manually "create a sequence" first, THEN you can add clips to the sequence. Until you have a sequence on the timeline, simply dragging & dropping from either the source monitor or project/browser panel to the timeline area will not work. Nor trying add a clip to the timeline either by the properties panel (after right-clicking on a clip) or the top menus.
Create a new sequence on the timeline, then ... you can drag & drop from either the source or project/browser panels, right-clicking on footage and using the property menus, all now works.
Steps to create a new sequence ... "ctrl(cmd) - N" with keyboard to create a new sequence, or in project/media browser panel ... right-click and choose "new -> sequence", or in that panel click on the piece of paper with a folded-corner icon (lower right corner) then choose "new->sequence" or of course, "File->new->sequence" from the main menu bar.
