Can Premiere Pro create a 3D bluray from Sony HDR-TD20 3D files?
I bought a 3D camcorder from Sony over a year ago. Has anyone successfully burned a 3D bluray disc (hardware / Asus bluray disc burner) using Premiere Pro?
Hi Peter Krug 53,
Welcome to the Encore forum. I have not done this myself, but I don't see why you can't create one, as long as your player supports it. You do need third party software. Check out this video, although it's a bit dated, it will give you a detailed look at the 3D stereoscopic workflow: http://tv.adobe.com/watch/davtechtable/3d-stereoscopic-editing-with-premierepro-cs5-winosx /
Thanks,

Can Premiere Pro 1.5 accept footage from DVCPRO 50 tape?
I'm trying to figure out whether Premiere Pro 1.5 can import footage shot on DVCPRO 50 (that's physical tape, not P2 card) natively? Or would I have to go an analog-digital route?
>DVCPRO 50 (that's physical tape, not P2 card) natively? Or would I have to go an analog-digital route?
If that is analog tape, you will not be able to directly import with PPro... you will need an analog converter

Can Premiere Pro CC work with mpeg files?
I tried to work with *.mpeg files, but can import them into a project.
Can Premiere Pro CC impoert and export mpeg (1, 2) files?Lucky ...
As shooternz says, yes ... although if you are new, you may not realize that when you start a project, you have to manually "create a sequence" first, THEN you can add clips to the sequence. Until you have a sequence on the timeline, simply dragging & dropping from either the source monitor or project/browser panel to the timeline area will not work. Nor trying add a clip to the timeline either by the properties panel (after right-clicking on a clip) or the top menus.
Create a new sequence on the timeline, then ... you can drag & drop from either the source or project/browser panels, right-clicking on footage and using the property menus, all now works.
Steps to create a new sequence ... "ctrl(cmd) - N" with keyboard to create a new sequence, or in project/media browser panel ... right-click and choose "new -> sequence", or in that panel click on the piece of paper with a folded-corner icon (lower right corner) then choose "new->sequence" or of course, "File->new->sequence" from the main menu bar.

Can Premiere Pro CS4 import H.264 quicktimes?
Can Premiere Pro CS4 import H.264 quicktimes?
If the QT's are pure H.264, and you have that installed, then there should not be an issue.
Some camera mfgrs., and others, like to tweak H.264, so there is no all encompassing answer.
If you are having issues with a QT file, that seems to be H.264, you might want to look closely at the full specs. in MediaInfo, just to be sure that all settings match what they should.
Where did these files come from? That might tell the tale.
Good luck,

Can Premiere Pro resume when computer sleeps in middle of rendering?
My computer
core i7
64 bit
1.6 CPU (boosts up to 2.5)
6 gigs ram
My footage
source: 1920x1080
Output: 720x480
Time of footage 54 min
File Size 2.5 gigs
Render time
When I had it set to Qualtiy 5.0, Bitrate 5 -7, VBR 2 pass, and checked Max. Render quality, Use Previews(which doesn't matter cause I have no previews associated), My render time was seriously 36 hours! I know scaling down adds to the time, but wow it is long. And no I have no special effects on the footage, just some zooming in and out and audio fades. Well I tried to do render it, but it is a laptop and I have to take it home to do work and traveling. Well, eventually I messed up and the laptop went to sleep.
Can Premiere pro continue to render after it has gone to sleep?
It did not seem to. The timer just sat there going up every second. So I stopped it and tried again. I lowered the settings to get only a 24 hours render time, but this morning I messed up and my laptop was running on battery power and it went to sleep. On resume, it had the same result, it seemed to stop progressing and just had the timer continue to tick up. Should I have been patient and waited another 4 hours to see if it actually resumed?
Since I use a laptop and such large render times. I want Premiere Pro to have a PAUSE ability on rendering! Even if I need to do a full shutdown. Is that even possible?I just remembered something. The reason why it was 36 hours is my raw footage was on an external 3.0 USB drive rendering the footage to my internal harddrive. So.. I moved my raw footage over to my internal harddrive and that reduced render time drastically. I have already read up on some articles how people have their cache on one drive, footage on another, and render to another or something like that so that harddrives are not have to read and write to the same drive to slow things. But... If my external drives get unplugged from my laptop during transit rendering obviously stops. But regardless, it doesn't matter I noticed a dramatic decrease in render time when moving everything to just one drive.

Can MacBook Pro Retina be used to convert vinyl records to digital files?
Can MacBook Pro Retina be used to convert vinyl records to digital files?
As the retina model doesn't have a line-in port, you'll also need a USB input device.
Griffin's iMic is a Mac stalwart. However, they don't list Lion or ML in the compatibility list, so some further research may be necessary.
If that's OK, their Final Vinyl software is free.
There are other analogue-to-digital converters, though most if not all are more expensive, and the excellent (free) Audacity software will also help with the import and any editing. It exports to a good selection of audio file types too. -
IMovie '09 Won't Import HD Content from Sony HDR-SR11 Camcorder
Hi,
iMovie stopped importing HD content from Sony HDR-SR11 camcorder. It only recognizes the standard definition content in the preview thumbnails. Previously this used to work with both a FireWire cable and a Mini USB. All of a sudden it doesn't import HD clips. There's no plugin failure either, because I reinstalled iMovie '09.
System Specifications:
Intel iMac 20" (Late 2008)
Intel Core 2 Duo@ 2.4 GHz.
4 GB RAM
Snow Leopard (10.6.4)
Thanks! With this camera you must erase the SD clips from the camera before you can import the HD clips.

Importing footage from sony HDR-SR12 to External for later use in imovie?
Hi all, I have a question, I would like to save my movie footage which is on my sony HDR-SR12 to a external drive(G Raid1TB) so I can view and also import clips to imovie for making movie's later. I have partitioned the Ext HD 150gb for photos and 781gb for movie footage. Just out of curiosity I mounted my camera and pressed get info and the format on the sony camera is MS-Dos(fat32) does this matter at all? Also which is the best way or how do I import the footage from sony hdr-sr12 to the external Hd. I have never done this before so your help would be greatly appreciated, I don't want to mess up.
Thank You
JessI should have mentioned, it is a good idea to make an archive copy of your AVCHD footage before importing. You should be able to do this from the FILE menu in iMovie. This will preserve the AVCHD files exactly as they were on the camera.
When you import, you convert the AVCHD files (which are highly compressed) into Apple Intermediate Codec, which is suitable for editing.
If you want to make sure that your archive copy is working properly, you can import from your archive copy, rather than importing directly from the camera. This is a good way to make sure you have a good archive copy before erasing the video on the camera. -
How do I import movies from sony HDR PJ200
How do I import movies from sony HDR PJ200?
hi, if your movies are recorded in AVCHD formats, they are not supported by iMovie so far. So, to make the conversion seems to be the best choice now. Except the brorsoft suggested by emmalucky, Video Mate also fits your mac well. IMovie accepted video formats includs .DV, .MOV, .MPEG-4, .M4V、H.264, .AIC. So, you can convert your movies to above video formats. Hope this help.

Can Premiere Pro smart render footage from a Canon 5D mark III ?
I already read that Premiere Pro can smart render certain codecs. But I want to know exactly: Can it smart render the video from a Canon 5D mark III?
In case smart render is not very specific: I'm asking if it can export the footage after cutting without rencoding it by just saving the individual frames into a new video container with the same codec. This should increase export time alot.
I'm asking because I have Premiere Elements and this feature would be the only reason for me to switch to Pro. I currently need 40 Minutes to render 10 Minutes. As a journalist I need to be faster.Do you have any other tips how to boost export speed? I don't need the video to be small. I only do a raw edit where I cut out the junk. Quality loss should be minimal and speed ist most important.
Its hard to know if your export speed is normal or otherwise without some detail from you for comparison.
Hardware, system, OS and current export settings and times etc..
Generally the system and set up will determine the speed and editing experience.
5D footage should be no problem at all to a decent system ( and setup)
If you do a test export for us...tell us how long the export takes for how much footage . eg 1 minute footage = X export time.
No Effects. -
Color on exported video on Adobe Premiere Pro Is a bit off from the original source video
I have both Cyberlink powerdirector 10.0 and Adobe Premiere Pro C6
I noticed that adobe premere cs6. when exporting the video.. colors are a little off.. never matching the same tones as the original
source
i took a screenshot so you can see what i mean.. Notice Adobe is a a little mor orange. is there a way to fix this? Cyberlink powedirector always matches the source color when you export it. except Adobe Premiere Pro CS 6
i have windows 7 64 bit (Nvidia GeForce GTX 670MThanks for answering. I ddi notice different media players show colors different. But on the screenshot i just showed you.. all 3 are from the same media player.
For some reason everytime i export a video from Adobe premiere pro the color is never the same as the source on media player. I tried it on 4 different videos. Other software programs like cyberlink power director export the video with no color change.
1)The original source from the picture is a mpeg-4 (avc)
2)i always use wmv codec to encode all videos. So the shot from Premiere Pro was using WMV codec. and the other shot (cyberlink powerdirector) was also wmv to encde.
3) I even tried to see if maybe i used a different video format to encode it would fix the slight color change. like h264 and mov.. but nope still same issue
4) I did what you told me to show the source and exported video on Adobe Premiere and really weird. the exporterd video from Adobe Premiere now shows the exact color as the source.. but the exported video from Cyberlinkpowerdirector shows the color a bit different.
Heres the media codec information
