Can print .pdf on all computers except one...

Hi, I looked through here for an answer before posting my question and didn't really find an answer and Adobe charges $39 for support so I am taking this low cost alternative. Here's my situation. I was trying to print out a copy of my W-2 for to start my taxes and I was on Google Chrome, right clicked and the page crashed. Went to IE8, Firefox, Opera and got the same thing. I got a print preview that has a blank grey screen in the preview section. I tried to print and a progress bar completed but the Epson Printer Dialog box didn't pop up and give it's respective status bar as it usually does. This is funny because I went to another computer that I own and the document printed out fine. This just started happening because I used to could print from this computer that I am typing this question on. I updated to Reader X and still the same result. I also went to saved .pdf files and the same thing. I turned off the firewall and still the same result. Can anyone out there identify with this problem and perhaps help me out? I mean I could have both computers in this room but that is inconvenient and make all of my .pdf files obsolete if I can't print them out. Thanks in advance for your help.

Oh yes, the OS I am running is Windows XP Media Edition. It started when I tried to do this in Reader 9, didn't work so I upgraded to X still didn't work. Restarted computer didn't work, however didn't uninstall then reinstall. I also have a wireless printer that I have to turn off the firewall to print other documents for some reason, but .pdf files won't print whether or not firewall is on. If no help from forum I may be forced to spend the $39 support fee because all of my tax files are on this computer...

You would need to get the IP address of your printer then manually add a network print queue.
To get the IP address, on the control panel of your printer, press on Setup > Network Setup > TCP/IP > View/Set IP address.

WRT54GL shares internet to all computers except one - need help!

Hello,
I've experienced a problem with my WRT54GL device. I've set up it and all was working well both foe Wi-Fi and Ethernet connections. But when I had tried to connect my parents' ASUS notebook I saw that it could connect to the router (it gets address through DHCP, sees the home network), but only to the Local Network - No Internet connection.
And I just can't get through it - how it can be, that all notebooks and a desktop can access to the internet, but the one - can not?
Please help to resolve this.

DNS migrated- can see webpage on all computers except two iMacs w/different

The webhost for our website had a hardware failure a couple of days ago, and migrated to a different server. Within hours, I could see the website on my pc at work (Firefox) and my friend could see it on her pc w/IE. But at home, no matter how many times I reset Safari, or restarted my iMac (10.4.8), I got the error page from the webhost- for over 30 hours. It finally came up when I got up at 6:30 this morning, then another friend emailed me and said he couldn't get the website (at 11:00 a.m. this morning) using a four year old eMac with Internet Explorer- even after clearing the cache. Is this just a Mac thing?

It has nothing to do with your Mac, but your ISP's DNS servers.
All DNS servers will cache DNS data and serve requests from the cache. The zone file will include a tag that tells DNS servers how long to cache the data for.
What you're experiencing is most likely an effect of that cache. For example, if your DNS is set to cache for one day and user A performs an initial lookup via ISP A's DNS server at 11:59pm then all subsequent requests to the same DNS server will return the same result for the next 24 hours. Even if you change the zone file at 12:00am the ISP's DNS server believes it has a valid data and will return the same result until the 24 hour timeout has expired.
In the meantime if User B performs an initial lookup via ISP B's DNS server at 12:01am he'll get the new zone data with the new address.
This conflict (where two different servers claim to have valid responses that are different) is known as the DNS propogation delay and it's largely out of your control since it's affected by servers outside of your domain.
The only thing you can do is to lower the timeout for your zone so that remote servers cache the data for shorter periods of time, with the corresponding increase in traffic to your DNS servers since the ISP's DNS servers will make more frequent requests for your zone data, even if it hasn't changed.

Question about import all tables except one

I have exported all tables for a user. While importing I want to import all tables except one table whose name I know. How do I do this? Example: If I have tables: Employee, address, salary that I have exported. While importing I want to import only Employee and address. How do I do this. The database I have exported contains over 20 tables.

I don't think it is possible at all, you just need to explicitly specify all the tables.
If you really don't want to include the single table, then you can import all the tables and drop the desired one.

Sophos Endpoint security: Block all websites except one

I've been trying to find out how to block all websites except one, in an end user, by creating a policy in the Sophos Enterprise Console. I can see an option - Full web control but it requires an appliance. My question is, it is possible block all websites except one with Sophos? I appreciate if anybody knows, and can tell me how. I have downloaded the trial version of Sophos. If it's possible, I'll try Sophos ES for a year, for the end users and servers.

Your english is very good. I did say "check and see" in my earlier post and not here is a solution.
To answer your original question , the answer is NO.
URL filtering is a limitation you will find in a product like the WRVS4400N, but you will not find that limitation in the new and more powerful SA520 which has an URL allowed and blocked list.
My advice would be, evaluate trendmico protectlink if you wish and see what you think. send a email to the following address to get a evaluation license;

But try a SA500, if that customer really needs a low cost, but capable router that requires URL allowed list.

You're not very clear in stating your problem. Maybe it's terminology: "takes" in recording lingo (and in GB lingo) are different version of exactly the same part in a song, so you only want one of them in the end. Please tell us exactly what you did and what it is that you don't like.

Need all members except one

We need a report in FRS 11.1.2.1 (for planning app) with all account members except one member (say XYZ), this dim is in page dim. Since we want the report to be dynamic, we tried few things:
1. Tried using All Accounts AND NOT XYZ
2. Created a UDA with all account members except XYZ. Used UDA in the report and it does not show up the right result. It shows only one page for each account.
Any suggestions will be helpful either in any of the above options or something new.

What exactly is the requirement? Do you want a total of all accounts excluding one or do you want to display all accounts excluding one?
What you are describing with the Page dimension is the way that the page is intended to work. If you want:
1. Subtotal of all accounts except one
a. Either add this member as a dyn calc member in the outline and call it directly or
b. Call the overall total and the account you wish to exclude and use a formula in the report to subtract one from the other
2. Display all accounts except one
a. Move what you have on the page of the report into rows (I suspect it may be too large to fit in columns)

Hello Linc and Eric thanks for your help.I had a think in my sleep and came up with the following.
If I accessed a few days back in my history files the website in question then it should work as this was before my problem.
This worked so I have mow circumvented whatever it was in the (Router/modem/internet section of Imac) that is causing the issue.
So will keep this in mind and continue to get rid of problem but at least I have a work around.

Setup write access for all descendants except one

I'd like to give a write access to all descendants of a member, except one.
I thought I could simply give WRITE too all descendants, and set a NONE on the member I didn't want to give access.
That should work according to the Planning documentation :
Inheriting Access Permissions
Inheritance may determine the user or group’s access permissions. You can specify an attribute
that causes the children or descendants of that member to inherit its access permissions. Access
permissions assigned to members take precedence over inherited access permissions. You can
include or exclude the member from the access permissions setting.
However, after I set it up this way, the inherited WRITE takes precedence over the NONE set up on the member.
Am I facing a bug, or is there an error in the documentation, or am I really missing something ?
I am working with 11.1.2.1, EPMA application.

If you set write accesss to descendants and then set none to one of the members then the none access should take precedence.
This statement should be true "Access permissions assigned to members take precedence over inherited access permissions."

Shut off all sounds except one distinctive ring?

Can I shut off all sounds and leave on just one distinctive ring?
When I go to sleep I'd like to leave my phone near me. I don't want to get any sounds from it, except the ring from the nursing home where my mother lives. Everything else can wait until morning. Can I do this on an Iphone 6 or 5?
Upon awakening, I'll reset to get all the sounds.
