Can ProRes 4:2:2 HQ QT be used on a Windows7 PC with CS5?

Gents, I know little about ProRes, other than it is loved by the MAC. Well, I don't have a MAC. I have a PC. But can I use ProRes 4:2:2 HQ QT in editing on a PC?
Here is the deal, I am shooting a wedding in April and the company I want to use for the 8mm scans can provide ProRes 4:2:2 HQ QT or High Def. Blackmagic 8 bit. Blackmagic is HUGE so thats out. But ProRes/ Can Premiere Pro handle it?
Half the footage will be High Definition from a DSLR camera so using that, plus ProRes would obviously be a mix and mixing is not ideal.
Forgive me for asking. I have researched this, but am unclear and would appreciate some assistance.

Thanks for the answer, I have an upcoming project that will be delivered to me in ProRes I have never tried to edit in ProRes before. I have received .Mov files that I could not open that were an HD format but I didn't know if it was ProRes or some other .mov that only an apple could open. I will up grade to 6 before I start this new project.
My question about output in .mov HD was because I had a problem last week I had received some .mov files from England, not in PAL, that played fine and they were HD. I needed to send the edited version to an editor working in MAC FC and I wanted to send .MOV hd but I could not find a Quicktime HD in the preset for Quicktime. I gave it to them in MP4 HD and all seems to be fine.
I have Quicktime 7 pro on my computer does that interface with premiere?
Any suggestions of plugin I should get for the upgrade?

Is the camera damaged? Could be a hardware problem.
Try:
Close the Camera app in the multitasking bar, then try again.
Restart/Reset/Restore your iPod. In that order.

Can't print from my OfficeJet 6500A Plus using my HP Probook laptop with Windows 7

I have a new laptop HP ProBook Windows 7. I understand that Windows 8 or parts of it were removed prior to the sale of this laptop to me. It was new and purchased from Amazon via Circuit City. Since purchasing it, my husband and I are pulling our hair out trying to find out why it will not print. I use MyVerizon email and Google Chrome. Nothing prints. I've even tried registering with Yahoo mail. Nothing prints from there either. We have wireless. We've never had this problem before with any of our other laptops, all of which were HP. HELP PLEASE!!!! We called HP printers but they want to charge us because our printer is out of warranty. But our HP laptop is NEW. What the heck is going on?? I've registered with HP eprint. Sorry to hear you are having so many problems with your printer/PC.
Have you downloaded the most recent printer drivers for your new laptop? If not you'll find them here: Once your printer drivers are installed for your particular operating system, the printer should communicate with the laptop.
You mentioned something about parts of Windows 8 being removed from your Windows 7 laptop - I'm not sure if this is possible. My understanding is that it can't be a hybrid of two operating systems. It should be one or the other. Please verify what operating system is installed on your laptop before downloading the corresponding drivers.
How e-print works is that you register and assign an e-mail address to your printer ([email protected]). You then forward any e-mails or file attahments that you want printed to [email protected] and it will print from your printer.

You can run CS5 and CS6 side by side.

Can you see which timeline clips are being used in Media Browser?

I'm a relatively new user and may not be familiar enough with cs5.5 but
is there a way to see what clips are being used on the editing timeline in the media browser.
I open premiere pro - Project is loaded. I edit the scene until it is finished.
When I look over at the media browser, all my raw clips (some of which I'm
using on the editing timeline) look the same - I can't tell which ones I using on the timeline.
The reason I ask - when I fiinish editing a scene it would be nice to glance over at the
media brower folder where my raw clips are located - easily see which ones I'm using because they
are highlighted or checked and then delete the ones I no longer need.
Is there a way to do this now?

I dont think so but a better way is to look in the top of the Project Window and there is a drop down that will show you all the useage instances of the clip. You can click on them to go to them in the timeline.

Can I use a sata3 hard drive with a late 2009 imac

Looks liker the hard drive in my five year old iMac is about to go belly up. Was getting hardware errors, very slow startup and Carbon Copy Cloner reported bad blocks during the backup. I want to buy a new HD at a local store and have the Apple store install it. Will they do that and can I use a SATA 3 drive with my older iMac?

YEs you can use a SATA III drive but the Apple Store will not install it for you. Find an AASP and see if they'll install a drive for you.

it will always either fail to make important parts of websites readable, or completely unhinge them.
opera mini, opera mobile(now classic) and opera for android show how well "text reflow" works for desktop pages on mobile devices.
before the opera mobile EOL I never needed mobile versions of pages.
firefox for android already has a text reflow feature, but it is hidden away and unusable because of 2 easily fixable problems.
1. "text inflation", it's completely unnecessary to require enlarged text in order to reflow but with this feature disabled(text to smallest size) there is no reflow.
2. "fixed zoom", currently double-tap zooming will always put the text fullscreen(which on a desktop layout is still too small)
a "fixed zoom" option that always zooms a set % regardless of where you double-tap should allow zooming in to a level where text is readable and should force "text reflow" to reflow text to screen-width.
so why are we still stuck with either messy or unreadable text on desktop pages?

you seem to have missed the point of my post.
firefox has 2 methods to make desktop pages readable on phones, "text reflow" and "text inflation".
text reflow is disabled by default and doesn't work properly because of a few unchangeable settings, even though it is proven to be a very effective and reliable method to make desktop pages work on phones by opera's browsers.
and text inflation is broken because it can never accurately determine what can and can't be inflated.
and my question is why we're still stuck with using text inflation when text reflow is a much better option?

If your iPhone is locked to a wireless provider, only that wireless provider
can unlock it. Contact the wireless provider in Hong Kong to see if they
offer unlocking and if you qualify.

No, but you do not need iTunes to setup a new iPhone 5s. Create an iCloud backup for anything you want to transfer to the new iPhone.

How can I use my 23" cinema display with a pc laptop?

I see various questions out there about using Apple Cinema Displays and PCs, but each one has its own twist. If anybody can help with this scenario, I'd greatly appreciate it.
I use one of the last editions of the Powerbook G4. I just bought a 23" Cinema Display and, of course, love it. It is supposed to replace an old CRT monitor in the home office, which brings me to my problem. Can I hook up a pc laptop to use with the Cinema Display (I ocassionally need the pc laptop and my wife and kid use it as well). I realize it will depend on the graphics card. Offhand I'm not sure which one it is, but the Dell is just shy of a year old and has good graphics, albeit VGA. I need a female DVI (I assume DVI-I) and a male VGA connector. Do these exist? I'm also looking for a PC Card DVI-I graphics card, but I don't know if these exist either.
I could buy a Dell (or some other brand) monitor that has both DVI and VGA connections, but I really want to keep the Cinema Display. It's gorgeous.

Thank you for the reply. I kind of figured this was the case. I have found two "boxes" that supposedly handle this problem. One is from Dr. Botts called Vgator and the other is from Gefen (www.gefen.com), but these solutions are very expensive -- $300 each -- and I am not certain of the quality of the picture. For that kind of money, I could buy a cheap PC monitor and just use the Cinema Display for Mac-only needs, as it was intended.

When I start Firefox, the name goes to the bar at the bottom, but I can't open it. Clicking it does nothing, I am still left with my desktop. So temporarily, I have to access the internet using IE, which I don't prefer. How do I get round this?

I used FF for some time, then I looked up a page in Turkish (not my language), and the page appeared in a small format, and I couldn't open it. Even when I right-clicked the FF icon, I couldn't close it, so I turned the computer off, and restarted, but I still can't open any page with FF because I can't get the full page. I am using an Acer Desktop tower with Vista - I am bilingual German/English. I have tried starting the computer in a different modus, FF starts then, but when I use the usual modus, it won't start - I use ESET NOD32 AV and Ad-Aware, and both haven't found a problem - I am now running Malwarebytes, and so far it hasn't found anything

To answer the post title FireFox save all downloads automatically in the download folder, which you can find in the Documents folder. If you want to choose where to save your downloads go to tools>options>check always ask me where to save files.
Secondly, I am assuming you have IE 8 installed as this is the only version that supports this fix that is currently not in beta. Go to control panel>internet options>advanced tab and reset the settings at the bottom. This may or may not fix the problem but it is a good first step.
