Can PSE9 save print settings?

My company manufactures jigsaw puzzles and uses PSE9 with large-format Epson Stylus Pro printers in a 64bit windows 7 environment to print the puzzle images on professional photo paper.  All of our prints (besides utility tests) use roll paper and automatic cut.
The nature of our business requires us to print files periodically and it is very frustrating that we must go into the advanced printer settings for EVERY print to set the roll paper option, page orientation, and color management settings.  Shouldn't this information be saved as part of the image file?
If I edit an image and print it, why do I have to reconfigure the print settings EACH time I open the image?
Is there a way that I can force PSE to remember this information?
Thank you so much.

Hi,
When you print a file, its settings are retained. When you print another file the previous settings will be retained and shown in the dialog.
Please let me know, in case this is not, what you are looking for or this is not working.
Thanks,
Tarun

  • Can you save print settings with a PDF?

I have an 8.5"x14" PDF. Is there anyway to save default print settings with this PDF so if a user opens it on their machine it defaults to printing to 8.5"x14" paper? Right now it always defaults to the standard 8.5"x11". I'm not sure this can be done because it seems like more of a specific users machine thing. I don't think you can save print settings with a PDF can you?
    Thanks!

The "auto-formatting" of a hardcopy print format is generally the realm of the output device, in this case the printer. Printer software gereally includes an auto-format feature that selects the proper bin. For those who only have a "letter" tray, it usually asks to feed the right format manually, or switch trays. This is not a PDF feature but an output device feature.
    Hope this helps.

  • Can't access print settings

Hi.  Whenever I save a set of print settings for printing I can no longer access Print Settings again.  I searched the forum and found this response. This works but then the problem represents itself the next time I go to print.  It is rather tedious to reset all my preferences every time I want to print a document.
Mac 10.6.8. I have the latest version of CS5 fully updated. Printing to an Epson 4800.
    Help appreciated.

    It's a corrupted preferences file.
What i got from another thread, is that you have to launch PS while holding down a certain combination of keys (i think it was shift+alt+cmd), and it'll reset your preferences.
    It worked like a charm.
gabevf had the correct answer! I tried it and everything is working fine now!
The combination is indeed shift+alt+cmd and then double-click on the Photoshop app icon.
    Greets!

    32 versus 64 doesn't make a difference.
"I've seen similar issues on httP://feedback.photoshop.com You should maybe post there to report the bug."
Thanks.  I searched there and found what might be a workaround. I think this is simply a bug in CS5. If (as indicated in posts revealed by searching the forum you linked me to) I temporarily change Printer Manages Color to Photoshop Manages Color in the PS window, I can then access Print Settings again to make changes, Save and then change Photoshop Manages Color back to Printer Manages Color.
    Go figure.
Thanks a lot for the help.
What I don't understand is why everyone isn't experiencing the same issue.

  • How can I save the settings of my iPhone 4 before resetting the phone in addition to saving the apps etc. by synchronisation with i-tunes

How can I save the settings of my iPhone 4 before resetting the phone in addition to saving the apps etc. by synchronisation with i-tunes

All the phone settings are save in the backup which is automatically created when you sync the phone.

Please clarify what you mean by "resetting" the phone. When you reset the phone, no data is deleted.  Do you actually mean Restore the phone?  See the User Guide, Appendix B for the correct terminology,

  • Can not save print profiles in print templates

I can not save print profiles on color managemet tab with the print templates.
And for my previously saved templates, I saved related profiles with the templates, but now when I click on the templates, they show empty space in place of related profiles on the color management tab.
How can I solve this problem?
    Thanks.

It happened today, when I play with the profiles. I don't know how could I do that ... but paper profiles can not be saved with print templates and with print collections. That section even does not have any selection, it is empty. I'm sure that it will create some confusion for me later when printing.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

  • Can't save printing preference HP 6313 All in one

Since last week my settings changed to the default factory settings and I've tried changing them back to the ones I prefer by doing the following:
Control panel - Printers and Faxes - right click HP 6313 - printing preference and then I make the changes and click ok / apply (where applicable and where I can)
Close everything and when I print it's back to the factory settings. Nothing stays the way I want it to.
I can't save a new printing shortcut, there's no space to fill in a new shortcut.
    I'm running Windows XP.
The only thing I changed was my scan properties, and I don't think that doing that could change my printing properties.
Any help would be appreciated since I forget to change the settings every time and I'm wasting ink (which I don't like doing)

  • AI CC 2014.1.1 (18.1.1) no longer saves print settings

Recently, and for as long as I can remember, AI saved print settings with the document. Now this no longer seems to be the case. One must manually set EACH print setting prior to printing, even previously saved documents.  :-(  This used to save a lot of time, but now requires extra time to re-set up each doc for printing, EACH TIME it is printed.
    Bummer.
If there's a way around this situation, I'm all ears.  :+)

  • Can't change print settings on HP C4280

Hi everyone, I can't change the print settings on my HP C4280 printer. I click the third drop down (Copies & Pages) menu after clicking print on a word document or webpage and I am able to see all the options (paper handling, scheduler, etc.- . I am also able to see advanced setting after clicking everything except paper type/quality, borderless printing, and printer driver information. When I click these 3 just mentioned, the advanced settings part that is supposed to load up is just blank- ) .
I have installed the driver and all other hp junk that I downloaded again from HP's website. Anyone have an idea how to solve the issue? I'm thinking the included leopard driver is being used and not the new HP one. I've tried selecting the new driver in system preferences but I don't know where the new driver is located.
Thanks in advance. I appreciate your help since the printer guzzles ink in the standard setting.

Seems like several people are having this problem. HP was actually very knowledgeable and helpful though. A simple manual uninstall and reinstall worked for me, but here are more comprehensive instructions from HP if you're still having trouble.
The issue you are describing would require a more intensive uninstall procedure. Double-click on Macintosh HD, Applications, Hewlett-Packard, HP Uninstaller. Proceed to the second screen of the uninstall, that asks you to select the device to remove. On this screen, hold the control, option, and command buttons (the three buttons on the bottom row of the keyboard, to the left of the spacebar). While holding the buttons, click the uninstall button. An additional screen will appear with a prompt to confirm.
Be advised, when you click yes all HP software items will be completely removed from the computer. This would include all items installed for other HP devices, as well as the driver package that is preloaded in the operating system. Any other HP devices that are currently installed will have to be reinstalled using compatible versions and the driver set would need to be reloaded from the Leopard DVD if you needed it for any older HP printers.
Click on yes, the uninstall may then take several minutes. Once the uninstaller has completed, empty the trash and restart the computer. When the computer has finished restarting, double-click on Macintosh HD, Applications, Utilities, Disk Utility. In the disk utility, highlight your Macintosh HD on the right, then click repair disk permissions on the right. The disk permissions repair may also take several minutes. After the repair is complete, close all windows and restart the computer again.
You would then be ready to reinstall the HP software. For your operating system version, you are recommended to only install the software version 9.7.1. Which is a comprehensive installation and includes the update item as well as support for 10.5.2. If you no longer have the file you previously download, it is not version 9.7.1, or you are unsure as to which version it is, then you may download the software from our site at the following link.

This should resolve the issue. If you need further assistance, please reply to this message and we will be happy to assist you further.

  • Can I adjust print settings when I use AirPrint?

    Hi
I have a MFC-J430W Brother printer set up for Airprint.
When I use Airprint on my ipads or iphones it always comes out in color.
Is there a way to adjust my print settings when using my mobile devices?
I wasn't sure where to place this question.  Since the printer is connected to my iMac I am parking it here.
Brother support is underwhelming.  But I've noticed the same limitation with other brand Airprint printers.
    Thanks

Printing from an iOS device does not give you controls for the print, all you can do is send something to the AirPrint printer.  AirPrint is a pretty fundamental level print system.

  • Can't access 'print settings' in Photoshop...

    Hi:
In Photoshop, I am not able to see 'print settings' when I go through the print menu.  Does anyone know how I can access them, or a way I can specify the paper type (plain, ultra premium, etc.)?   When I look for the print settings in the other suite programs, I cannot see it there, either.
Any help would be really appreciated!
    Thanks in advance...

There's a suggestion from another thread I've copied below. Try Gabe's suggestion of resetting the Photoshop Preferences, and if that doesn't work, there are system-wide preferences you can also try deleting as mentioned in this message: http://forums.adobe.com/message/3026788#3026788
I called Apple support and they had me move preference files from the Library folder - anything that said "com.adobe.apple.print".  Restart and then it would print.

  • Can't open print settings with CS5 and Epson R1900

In Photoshop CS5, go to File > Print.  In the Print dialogue window, click on Print Settings... and no response.  The blue Print button in the lower right corner flashes when I click, but nothing else happens.
I've tried running Photoshop in 32-bit mode as well.  Doesn't behave differently.
Running on a Mac Pro 2.26 GHz (most current generation).
    12 GB RAM
    OS 10.6.4
Printer is connected to Airport Extreme USB (most current generation).
Can successfully print with CS4; seems to be a new issue with CS5.
Hope I've included enough info to troubleshoot this problem.
    Thanks for any help!
    Brian,.

I've been trying to trouble shoot this problem since the beginning of September. I wasn't sure if it was a snow leopard issue, a Driver issue, or a CS5 issue. I guess it's CS5. I recently discovered the work around of asking Photoshop to manage the colors, opening the print settings, saving, then returning to printer managing colors but this just doesn't cut it in our graphics lab. We need the settings to be as straight forward as possible for our students.
Also, unrelated sort of, Photoshop remembers the settings from the previous print job. Which again doesn't work well in a lab/public environment. So if jimmy printed 20 copies of a file and set it to print colors as gray; Susie, the next in line, would have the same print settings for her file. This seems to only happen with photoshop. Not Preview, not safari, nor any other program.
We're seriously considering moving back to CS4.
...at least that had contact sheets.

  • Can't access "print settings" on an Epson Artisan 1430.

Hi- When trying to print from my MacBook Pro, OS X 10.9 Mavericks, to an Epson Artisan 1430 I cannot access the "Print Settings" button. I select File and then Print from the top menu. I'm taken to the basic print screen and click on "print settings." The button changes color when I click but does not take me to a secondary menu, it just stays there. Can anyone help with this? I've just gone to Epson and upgraded to the latest drivers, etc.
    Thanks!

Did you try deleting and re-adding the printer?
If that doesn't work, try deleting the /Library/Printer/EPSON and the/Library/Caches/Epson/ folders and then reinstalling the updates.
If that doesn't work, see if there is anything in /Utilities/Console related to the app you are printing from.

  • Can't Save CoreCenter Settings...

CoreCenter overclocked my 3200+ nicely, but even after I "save" the settings they are lost the next time I start up my computer.  Is there a switch in the BIOS that I need to set before the CoreCenter can save the setting permanently?

Quite a few users experienced that same problem, and resorted to just making the comparable settings in BIOS...then saving. I'm not sure if any BIOS upgrades cured that bug.

  • Can't save proxies settings

Well my problem is simple to explain, but really hard to understand.
As the title sugests I can't save the proxies' settings. I need the proxies to be configures in a certain way to have internet in my college campus. I'm able to connect to the campus' wireless network and enter the college's sites because they are in their own server, but i need the proxies to be configured with a name and a port (that I know) to be able to surf the internet.
The problem is that when i enter network preferences, advanced, proxies, configure manually or with PAC file, i then it OK, Apply, and even close the lock so that it requeires password to change settings, but right next i click advanced and nothing was saved...
I can't understand if i'm doing something wrong or if this is a bug. I'm using the latest version of Leopard in a MacBook. Any help is apreciated

Are you using the "Automatic" location?
If so, create a new location first (call it College) through:
System Preferences -> Network -> Location -> Edit Locations...
Once you have created the new location, you will be able to save your Proxy Settings. Whenever you go to college, you then need to simply select: Apple menu -> Location -> College, and your settings will be picked up automagically.
    Cheers,
    Rodney
