Can QT do a manual advanced slide show?

Can QT replace flash and allow me to do a manually advanced slide show for my website?
Or is this a bad idea ?

Look to using jQuery instead of Flash. There are a variety of redy-made solutions available, just search Google or visit the Dreamweaver forum and ask there.

Im making and advanced slide show and have recently switched over to FCE. In imovie they have the ken burns effect for pictures. I was wondering if I could do something similar in FCE (I'm assuming I can and with much more customization available I'm just not sure how). Thanks.

Can iWeb do an auto-runing slide show embedded on home page?

I want a slide show of photos to start running automatically when the page is loaded. I don't want visitors to have to click anything, and I don't want the slide show to take over the page.

I have tried placing a MobileMe Gallery widget on the page, but when I do this, the little window comes up asking me to select the album to display. I do have a MobileMe account, and I do have albums in the gallery, but the iWeb Gallery widget is not showing any of them.
Can anyone help?

Manually controlled slide show?

I'm feeling like a bit of an idiot since it seems to me that I should be able to do this, and that it should be in an obvious place ... but I can't find it.
I would like to set up a slide show that advances on a mouse click. I can do what I want by selecting "edit photo using full screen." But then I lose things like transitions and music. I can also do it with the controls on the screen, but that is also less than desirable ... since the controls are on the screen.
I could load the photos into PowerPoint, but then I would have to redo everything if I edited a photo.

That can be done by setting the slide timing to 600 seconds in the Setting pane. That will give you ten minutes for each slide and then you can move to the next one with a mouse click. You can use the Apple Remote if you're on a laptop with Photo Booth capability.

TIP: For insurance against the iPhoto database corruption that many users have experienced I recommend making a backup copy of the Library6.iPhoto database file and keep it current. If problems crop up where iPhoto suddenly can't see any photos or thinks there are no photos in the library, replacing the working Library6.iPhoto file with the backup will often get the library back. By keeping it current I mean backup after each import and/or any serious editing or work on books, slideshows, calendars, cards, etc. That insures that if a problem pops up and you do need to replace the database file, you'll retain all those efforts. It doesn't take long to make the backup and it's good insurance.
I've written an Automator workflow application (requires Tiger), iPhoto dB File Backup, that will copy the selected Library6.iPhoto file from your iPhoto Library folder to the Pictures folder, replacing any previous version of it. Why can't I choose manual for slide duration.

I was trying to create a slide show in iDVD 09. But I couldn't select manual slide duration as it was greyed out. How can I select manual instead of the auto run of 5 sec or 10 sec?

Quit iDVD and delete your iDVD preferences. To do this, go to your username> library> preferences> com.apple.idvd.plist. Delete this file. Then reopen iDVD; it will create a new preference file with all of the default settings.
You can also do a verify and repair of permissions using Disk Utility.

IPhoto '08: How can I copy an album or slide show to another computer?

I want to take a slideshow of a trip that I put music to and move it from my iBook to my new iMac so I can use iDVD to make a DVD of the slideshow (since I can't burn DVDs on my iBook). I have TONS of pictures from this trip, so it would really be a pain to cull through them again, even though all of the photos are on both computers.
Is there any way to copy a slide show (or an iPhoto album) to another computer via an external hard drive? I looked in the iPhoto Help and couldn't find anything on the subject.
Thanks for any advice! I promised some tripmates I would send them a DVD of my photos back in October, so I'm starting to feel guilty!

Here is one way to create the DVD:
1 - on your iBook with the slideshow ready to do use the Share->Send to iDVD menu option.
2 - once the slideshow is compiled into a Quicktime movie and is exported to iDVD, quit iDVD without saving.
3 - look inside your Movies folder for the QT movie that was just created.
4 - copy that movie file to your iMac.
5 - open iDVD on your iMac, select a theme and add a slideshow to the menu window with the "+" button at the bottom.
6 - open the slideshow editing window by double clicking on the slideshow button or text in the menu.
7 - drag the QT movie into the slideshow window on the left. This will let iDVD scale the QT movie to the TV safe area so non of the movie is lost to the TV overscan that will occur if the movie is added directly to the menu.
8 - once the iDVD project is ready use the File->Save as Disk Image to save the project as a disk image. This allows you to mount the disk image and play it with DVD Player to confirm that the encoding went as it should and there are no typos in the menu or title (my biggest error).
9 - when ready to burn use Disk Utility to burn, at the slowest speed possible, to a DVD-R disk.

How can you create a screen width slide show?

I have created screen width images that resize depending on the screen resolution using the fill option.
However, when I use any of the slide show widgets and size them to the edge of the site, it doesn't fill the screen width on the live mode. It always leaves a margin.
What can I do?

Widgets do not support full width or responsive. I hope they do support it in the near future though.

You need Photoshop Elements + Premiere Elements in order to trim and mix audio tracks.
Or in PSE make the timings and transitions match the music track.

Is there a limit to the number of photos I can include in a PSE 12 slide show?

I recently took a trip to Ireland and...being the camera addict that I am ...took right at 3000 pictures.
Obviously -- I don't want to include all of them, but I do have several hundred that I would like to put into a slide show.   Is there a limit to the number of photos I can use?
Also, I notice that there's an option for adding a narration.    I'm new to "12",   so .... how do I go about this?

I just discovered that I have the trial version of Adobe Premier.   I've
been playing around with it a little bit and NOW I wonder if it might not
be the perfect program for me to use to create my Ireland travelogue.   I'm
about to the point of thinking that the investment in the program &
upgrading to the "real" thing will be worth the money.
NOW...should I do this, is it going to be better to leave the photos in
their current size (just a step below RAW)   or resize them down to the
size used in email?    That being said --- what is going to be best for
putting on a DVD to share with friends & family.   Looks like AT LEAST 1000
photos.

Why can't I see the flash slide show on my own website since installing newest version?

Since installing the newest version of flash player on my computer a few days ago (version 11.5?), I can't see the old slide show on my own website. I know it is still there because a friend running XP can see it. I am running Win7 Pro with IE 9 in 32-bit mode. Also won't work in Google Chrome or IE 64-bit. I could see the slide show with the old version of the flash player.
Anyone have any ideas?

Can't turn on music in slide show. Says it's playing - no sound

The background sound music no longer plays in my slide shows. What do I need to do to get it restored?

I'm not sure but it sounds like not all of your bsd system layer stuff got installed. Try using Pacifist to check and see that all your bsd system stuff got installed, and if it didn't, install it. HTH.

Can't Select Songs For My Slide Show

For some reason, the drag and drop slideshow music selection feature doesn't work. I'm running iPhoto '09 (8.1.1) in 10.5.8.
If I click Slideshow for a particular album and select settings from the bottom of the screen, I get a tabbed window with Themes, Music and Settings at the top. I go to the music tab and click on Play music during slideshow and select Music from my iTunes library. I then click on custom playlist for slideshow.
When I try to click-drag a song to the window that says drag and reorder songs here, it doesn't drag anything. It just selects all the songs above (or below, depending on which way I move the cursor). Nothing moves.
It doesn't matter where on the song I click (the music note, the track name, the artist or the time). Nothing moves.
Anyone have any ideas?

That did it. The number does not appear no matter how long I hold the mouse down, but once I move the song, the number pops up. It's always "1" by the way, but it now works--that's all I care about.

Can you manually advance a Captivate slide presentation with a remote control and a projector.

I have published a large volument of PowerPoint presentations with Captivate 5.0 and intend to distribute the presentations to live instructors as a means to control content delivered live by instructors to the students. The files are aggregrated into groups of lessons and published to PDF with a Table of Contents.
We need to avoid manually advancing the show from the laptop.
Having difficulty determining how to use remote control via laptop and projector to advance the next slide or presentation. Can't get it to work. Was able to do so previously with PowerPoint slides converted to PDF shows. Remotes/Laser pointers worked fine. But now that I have processed the shows through Captivate 5.0 can seem to find a remote that will work with the new PDF or SWF with our systems.
We use a laptop and projection system, so need to be able to advance the show to the next "slide" manually and are trying to figure out how to do it with a remote control.
Has anyone else experienced this challenge and did you find a solution?.

if you can apply the letter "A" for "next" to your remote control?
Then you could add a shortcut to your buttons in the captivate file.
In deapth:
Go to a PPT importet slide (using the "click mouse" option to continue".
Click somewhere in the screen (clickbox_xx will be selected).
Properties - Action - Shortcut. Click it and press "A".
Click somewhere on the stage.
Now when you press your next button on the remote, Captivate will receive an "A" and continue to the next slide.
